If you only want to mute Vyrn's battle voicelines, specifically ones with no text, then delete system\ folder inside this mod's folder, i.e. ReloadedII-1.25.3\Mods\gbfrelink.mute.vyrn\GBFR\data. This prevents the side effect, as mentioned in mod description, from happening.
This is for Reloaded version only. You will have to re-update data.i if you are using manual version.
I assume you meant the manual version? I updated it now. But in the future do consider setting up Reloaded since I may not always be able to update the manual in time.
I am so glad you're quick on the draw with updates. Of all the mods I use, this is probably the only one I would just give up on the game without. Vyrn is insufferable.
Appreciate the kind words, thank you. Just as a note, the way this mod works in theory it can still work on newer versions even without being updated. The main thing that could happen is that in some new cutscenes, Vyrn may end up having voicelines.
If you used the manual version then yes it won't work anymore for the latest game version v1.1.4. Please either use Reloaded version or manually update merge to update your data.i.
Thanks for replying, I'll try it again today. I tried it 3 times, and each time Vyrn is talking in the cutscene. I install mods all the time for games so I'm not sure what I'm missing.
I have tried several times now to get it to work and it will not. I know I have installed the mod correctly. I have followed the installation vids as well, and that little turd keeps talking. I have reinstalled the game as well and started from scratch. Has anyone else having problems?
Again, thanks for reply, I've tried the skip intro and cannot get it to work either. I have no idea what could be causing it not to work. I've gone over the steps several times, it's pretty straight forward, but it will not work. It's driving me batty lol. If I can mod Elden Ring, getting mods to work with this game should be a breeze! I'll try and use the manual variant, thank you! It's sad we have to go through all this trouble to shut up one character....
Happy to hear that and it's precisely the reason why I try to update/include manual variant if I can. Imo it's just way simpler/easier than setting up Reloaded, specially if all you need are simple or singular mods.
I still do recommend you learn how to manually merge. I've detailed this in mod description. Most mods here that only include Reloaded variant can actually be manually merged. All you need is to copy the contents of data/ folder in those mods and paste it into your game's installation data/ folder > Execute the command in cmd/terminal/powershell to merge.
this is the mod ive been looking for, but ironically enough, the only time vyrns voice truly bothers me is during battle, especially during the harder quests where people are dying a lot so youre constantly hearing him say ''you look worn out, pal!'', etc which is grating after the 3rd time lol. it would be awesome if you found a way to mute him in combat too.
Oh, does he actually still talk in some cases? Do those cases have associated dialog text with them or none? i.e. Is it like the parrot who does not have dialog text but still talks?
I need to know that since that may be what my previous attempts at muting him actually does. And this current iteration only mutes voiced text.
That does sound like how parrot is. I uploaded a variant under Miscellaneous. Could you please try that? It comes with data.i, if you are using Manual then just copy paste into game install > Launch via Steam.
But if you are using the Reloaded version then just copy the contents of data\ to the one inside Reloaded\Mods\gbfrelink.mute.vyrn\GBFR\data and ignore the data.i > Relaunch via Reloaded.
he doesnt have any dialog text in battle iirc
The quest I tested this one still had him talking with dialog text, so I honestly thought that was it. Hopefully above does work. Please let me know if it does so I can update the mods properly.
So confirmed is it? The one in Miscellaneous really does mute his voicelines that has no text? If so that's good to know my previous attempts were not in vain.
the best mod of all, thank you so much. i couldnt finish the game before and i didnt get very far because of annoying vyrn pos. now i can play and enjoy the game much MUCH better when this vyrn pos mouth is shut.

Installing Mods - Granblue Fantasy - Relink Modding (nenkai.github.io)
I assume you've set up Reloaded, in which case try other mods and see if everything is indeed working. Basic ones like these:
Remove Dialogue Banners at Granblue Fantasy: Relink Nexus - Mods and community (nexusmods.com)
Skip Intro-Boot logos and News at Granblue Fantasy: Relink Nexus - Mods and community (nexusmods.com)
I updated the manual variant for game version 1.1.4.

and ive only heard him talk during battle, but outside of that he's quiet
