Installation: Simply select all the contents from the "ClassicColors" folder and drag and drop them into your game's main directory.
Nice work! When Nextgen edition came out i tried to make the same mod as you only based on a code of an old-aged zombie mod. While searching for info about gta iv modding i found Zolika's main site where there was a solution of NOT USING ZMENU to disable a hecking glow shader but just an option in main gta 4 menu. Mod is called GTA IV Extra Options. https://zolika.dev/mods/ivoptions. Photo on the site. On/off for the glow effect works after save restart. Couldn't crack source code from it. Sad.
For everyone here: the scripthookdotnet that's included in this mod causes the game to crash on load about 20-30% of the times, if you use IVSDKDotNet wrapper instead, it appears to be stable for now
it would also be nice if the smg would be colored the same as an uzi on the ground, currently it has no glow at all

No performance issues now, seems to be working fine! I have found another little bug, i have noticed if you throw or drop a grenade, the glow appears :P

Not sure why my comment was deleted but I wanted to ask if this in .asi format would be possible since this particular scripthook requirement makes it rain indoors in VCNG
I'll try making an .asi version when I get time and rewrite in C++ so you won't need Zoliska ZMenu for the glow disable options. Still learning the ropes since this is my first script mod.
great news, hopefully you pull through, funny thing is I in fact use Zmenu myself, the problem is the scripthookdotnet file that bugs for VCNG for some reason... good luck, hopefully you'll manage it! really looking forward to it

Idea is perfect but stupid system,just change color pickups weapon,dont need any tricks more,only color. But also good i can drop one weapon ,but nuttertools and almost all weapons on floor,this is not good.Best if will be change color,drop one weapon if i need , using nuttertools all weapon on my hands,if i want drop one i drop

What specific patch/game version are you running?
When i turn off the pick up glow on the zolika menu the weapons dont have any glow at all. Turn on they stay orange.
Could you remove/block the part of the script that is responsible for throwing weapons, I would like to be able to have all weapons.
