Sorry guys, updated now but for future reference of everyone, All game updates break this mod it seems. The problem is gameconfig.xml every time.
A quick fix is to restore the updated gameconfig.xml. You'll only lose a few traffic & population changes, until I post an update. So take gameconfig.xml from update.rpf and put it in your mods/update.rpf, to overwrite mine.
If you don't like the driving, you have options: 1) Install alternative or original handling.meta file, after installing this mod Assuming you are using OpenIV and "mods" folder to preserve the original files and online play capability, you can get the original from Grand Theft Auto V\update\update.rpf\common\data Otherwise you will have to source it elsewhere
2) Always delete handling.meta from the mod files of this mod before you install it
Note: handling.meta is the file which controls how vehicle driving behaves.
I don't understand the popularity of this mod. It's the most problematic mod in the installation that I've had so far. I didn't have time to test all the changes that the mod introduces and I didn't want to because it was enough for me that cars, especially sports cars, can't be driven normally. They spin on the streets when starting off as if on ice on skates.
I've downloaded OpenIV, and pointed it at my install directory. I've downloaded this mod archive. I can't figure out how to proceed from there. I don't see a oiv file to point the program at.... not sure what im missing here.
I can make it work without gameconfig.xml but I'm missing out stuff. Are you able to post a new updated game config.xml? Or can you tell us what build is the mod updated to so we can try to downgrade, thanks
2 hours of reading installing mod instructions for variety of simple things.. then last thing I add is this, and game crashes. Then I read all the comments, dont install... FML.
Great mod but just wanted to point out that I didn`t like the driving so I tried both options you mentioned below,
1) Install alternative or original handling.meta file, after installing this mod
2) Always delete handling.meta from the mod files of this mod before you install it
The mod worked perfect before I attempted the above options but once I tried this the game would crash on loading screen then when I installed the full mod it worked again without any issues. It seems the mod requires your version of the handlin.meta file to work.
Just wanted to make you aware. Thanks for your efforts on this and keep up the good work!
