This mod caused NPCs to stop giving new dialog, only same lines. As soon as i removed the mod the NPCs had exclamation marks overhead again and i could progress the storylines. Just putting this here in case anyone else has similar issues and is using this mod.
The file to replace will have the same name... you kinda need to know your way around computers and file explorer to install any mods...
First go into the game folder (if on steam, just right click on the game name, then select manage, then browse local file, this will open up the explorer to the right location...
then you open up the content folder, then script folder, and then you put the files LootData.lua and NPCData.lua from the mod into that folder... if you want another version, then you just rename the file to LootData.lua or NPCData.lua respectively and put them in that folder...
I do not know if the game has had updates since the mod was made however since its been many years since i have finished 100% and moved on...
If i remember correctly, THAT was like the only one i was NOT able to figure out... Nothing i tried and changed worked to get him to spawn more often...
Yeah... From the mod Description : "The only one I did not address is Hypnos since he has many Thanatos requirements and Than only seems to spawns after seeing him during a run... making progressing Hypnos storyline ridiculously tedious."
So I eventually gave up on this one and moved on (my wife and I played probably 90 games since this one)
Hey, might be included really, but I wanted to ask if this includes unlocking the paths with the pacts? Specifically, Achiles, as I've exhausted his and Patroclus's dialogue for their side quest but still haven't had Patroclus tell me to talk to Achilles for him in nearly 70 runs...
I honestly dont know and dont recall at all... you should open/edit the files and do a search for the info you are looking for to figure out what prerequesite might be blocking you... or just go all out like i did and remove them all :P
Might sound silly to ask but I'm very new to mods and scripts in general. Is there a particular file that could show that for me if I wanted to check first to see if I haven't unlocked something first?
pretty much everything is from a single file... npc-data... i included 3 versions in this mod, the original and 2 modded version... simply open the original and any of them in something like notepad++ and use the compare plugin... or download a free program like winmerge that can do the same... that way you can compare and see what was changed from the original to any of the mods... and figure out how to make your own version :) Thats pretty much the best advice i can give you! hehe... Good luck!
glad you found it useful! i also had that issue and just wanted to unlock it...
The weird part was that based on the code, i should have unlocked it... so im not sure if its a bug or what caused it... but at least the team leaving all the files open for modding was really kind and nice
a lot of that seems to be hardcoded in the game.. i only removed pre-requisite for the key dialogues to display and reduced the number of empty runs before a new one would trigger... it should not prevent you from hearing/listening to any dialogues... this game (as amazing as it is) works in mysterious ways... after more than 60 runs i was still never able to get the final dialogues of hypnos even though i had all the requisite for the last 20 hours...
glad it helped you out!!! i had been in post game for a week doing 4 runs daily and never got the epilogue to trigger... it was either cheat it to make it appear or give up on the game and move on... fortunately it worked out! hehe
As i wrote in my description, I could easily have figured out how to do it and make it better and importable/compatible... but I just didnt want to take the time to do it... (yet still wanted to share if i could help others) This was pretty much the best I could do with the time i had
