Game looks great with reshade! With this and some Half Life Alyx mods and enhanced texture mods from the workshop it look like a next gen game!!! And it runs at 4k 60fps almost perfectly! I posted some screenshots if anyone wants to take a look!
Check the video and make sure you have placed the files correctly. Normally once the files are placed in their proper spots it should just work without an issue. Just make sure to place the files as directed, if you extracted them to a folder then installed the folder so the files are separated then that would cause them not to work as that would isolate the files from the ones they would interact with.
i extracted the mod exactly as it is show in the description it works and all but time to time. but when it starts to load the next map it crashes, how do i fix this?
4gb patch no thanks i try that. Edit:i did it and is working further than before but still crashes in the part of the airboat when you drive through the tunnel loading scene if this helps i have one other mod installed the MMod
MMod does have some random crash issues in different spots. It usually recommends reloading the chapter to correct the issue. This is a graphics enhancement and doesn't change any game files so it's likely something with MMod. The 4gb patch just flags the original exe file so it will use more memory but otherwise it makes no file changes either. See if there are any MMod references to the error or try like I said and restart the chapter and normally if it's caused by MMod, that normally fixes it.
It adds SMAA to sharpen and smooth edges, HDR to improve picture quality and visuals, Lumasharpen to help further sharpen the image quality of the game, Vibrance which slightly alters saturation to improve game coloration and Curves and Levels for contrast.
It's meant to improve and enhance the overall game without causing drastic changes that may alter the feel of the game. Check the splitscreen images or set the preset file to enable splitscreen and you can check the differences yourself. Just disable it after to return it to fullscreen.
Those screenshot comparisons are useless, colors and shading can vary a lot from the left side of the screen to the right. Have comparison with 2 images of the same location, not split.
The split screen is vanilla on the one side and with effects on the other. That's normally how the split screen works when enabled. The first two pictures however one is shown full screen then the next shows the same image in splitscreen.
So i have hl2 update with mmod and all was good i have x4 textures and other stuff and i put the 4gb patch at the vanilla hl2 and all was so so good and then i put the 4gb patch to hl2 update too but now i have a problem with the reshade and it does some strange indoors mix lighthing with models f.e. for alyx in chapter 2 and all is like fullbrightness when i disable it but if i remove the reshade all is normal again... so is this for the 4gb may be?? how can i remove it from the hl2.exe of hl2 update??
Normally if the 4gb patch causes an issue, a computer restart will usually fix it. As far as the darkness problem, goto the sweetfx settings file and alter the HDR line - HDRPower to 1.20 or less, 1.00 will match the ingame brightness level. Try that and see if the issue is corrected. Let me know. Thanks
hey man! i finally get some time to check this! so this didnt work the thing like this let me explain better:
I for example start chapter 2 and alyx body is so much "shiny" if i go next to her the body turns normal but his head is shiny and the indoor environment seems like that kind of shiny too and if i disable the reshade its like someone push the brightness bar to much but it is not like those problems like mmmmm nova prospekt being full white or something no, its like you are using a extreme and powerfull spotlight i think
i dont know if i explain the situacion very well jeje
Goto the images and add the image there. I can look at it then. Or if you have google you can add it to images on your account and copy/paste the weblink for it here
Ok I looked at the pics, so are you trying to match the light levels? Not sure what I should be looking at. If you want to match the light/gamma level you make the change as I mentioned above to the HDR Line in the SweetFX_settings.txt HDR settings Set the define HDRPower to 1.00 for a matched light level (normal). Set the define radius2 to .80 HDR when active will darken images in games and such whether it's win10 or a shader addition. The difference though is you can better adjust it with a reshade then win10.
As far as the shiny effect that maybe sharpness, oversharpening can cause a weird lighting issue and flicker. If you have sharpening enabled through the gpu disable it, or try lowering the Lumasharpen effect in the SweetFX_settings.txt set the define sharp_strength to 0.20
You can also try switching between the settings files, there are alternates under the optional downloads, they may help better correct the issue.
i tried man but nothing works!! at least this only happen in chapter two i think i dont see this in any other place (right now i am at water hazard) this is a so strange problem jajaja
PD: there are some problems at chapter 1 too like the same problem as chapter two where everything looks like clay at the back room of barney site and the "wait screen" of the breen cast in white until he talks.
I used it not to long ago the enb version should still be working. Alright, so just to go over a few things: So you placed the files and moved the d3d9.dll over to the bin folder. Got a black screen with main d3d9 as well as the alts. you then tried the nvidia fix with it.
When you added the nvidia fix d3d9.dll, did you made sure to rename the original d3d9.dll to d3d9orig.dll before placing the nvidia one in the bin folder with it? As well if you could check to see if you have the lastest Geforce experience by just running it to see if it updates. They just released a new one yesterday as the previous one from last week was having major game issues and needed a hotfix as a result. Also try this too https://youtu.be/jZrnfWpENTo

I'll try though.
Yes this should work with GMod.
It works pretty much with most of the HL2 variants.
The screen is black with audio still playing, and none of the altD3D9 configs work either. Nor does renaming the link to the Nvidia Drivers Fix page.
