As of version 1.13, automatic updates are available in the Simple Mod Framework.

After automatic and manual updates, please confirm that both SMF options are still selected to prevent issues.
When updating the mod manually, a clean install is strongly recommended.

Bug reports are welcome, but please be aware that this mod is no longer in active development. Only major issues will be addressed.

Note: There are two isolated gameplay issues due to acrobatic animation changes in Hitman 3 (one in Dartmoor, one in Carpathian Mountains). All other level design is completely safe.

Not sure if I missed something, but this crashes my game every time I try to load Freelancer mode. I haven't tried other game mods, but Freelancer crashes while loading to the safe house.
Edit: Disregard. It's the Hitman 2016 movement mod giving me this problem not this one. I haven't tried this one.
  3. Will this be updated or is it abandoned?

It should still work fine, but I fully transferred my flag to Hitman 2016 Movement (linked to in the pinned comment) as of a year and a half ago. It includes a wide variety of Hitman 2 options, many of which are much more accurate than what's in this version.

Hi, Would it be possible to make 47 a little more slower like in Hitman 2? His movement just seems too quick for me and i feel like it could be a nice implement.

Hi there. A lot of 47's movement is slower in Hitman 2 than in Hitman 3, which is actually the only reason I created this mod in the first place. Gameplay speeds are controlled by the animations themselves. This applies to everything: Walking, running, sneaking, body dragging, drainpipes, ladders, ledge hang movement, takedowns, hand-to-hand combat, etc. I used mass extractions for maximum thoroughness.

Unfortunately, Hitman 2 is what originally made several basic climbing/vaulting speeds unrealistically fast, which Hitman 3 then eagerly inherited. I think you must be remembering Hitman 2016 in that area. If you're interested, all of my development and support efforts switched to my main mod a long time ago: Hitman 2016 Movement. It's getting a major update that should be out later today, so it's great timing!

Hello, this animation pack is really cool, I love this pistol running action, can you separate that single one from this pack?
or make it a separate option ;D

could Acrobatics Audio options from 2016 Movement be included here? it's effect appears to be minor as it's only audio changes, so it fits with the vision of lightness in this mod.

Well, I transferred my development flag over to the 2016 version a year ago. This is basically just an extremely old copy of that mod, which ironically now has superior Hitman 2 options. I'm reluctantly maintaining this version for anyone who still wants it, but only to fix major issues.

That alternative acrobatic audio was my own invention. In vanilla Hitman 2 and 3, the foot collision sounds I muted are still there. IOI didn't bother to address that directly, instead opting to lazily speed up those 2016 climbing animations to the point where it's hard to notice much of anything beyond 47's new superpowers. The animations affected by that option have exactly the same audio with or without this mod.

However, if you really want to keep using this version but also want the alternative acrobatic audio, it can be easily done manually. You can download any version of Hitman 2016 Movement from 1.33.0 to 1.40.5, open it up, copy what's in the "content_audio_acrobatic_modern" folder, and paste it inside Hitman 2 Movement's "content" folder. Overwrite the files, and you're good to go.

Hi. This is more of a request. Have you noticed that the Silverballers back side thingy clips into 47's hands slightly. Can you fix that since it is very unlikely IO will. My OCD regarding this is killing me.

I have noticed that, and it bothers me too. It clipped almost unnoticeably in Hitman 2016 and Hitman 2, and then got a lot worse in Hitman 3. Sadly, IOI already has a mountain of much more serious Hitman 3 bugs to never fix.

I'd love to fix it myself, but I unfortunately don't think it's possible with the current mod tools. It's not an animation issue (I'm using the Hitman 2016/Hitman 2 animations already), but I think I know where the problem is anyway. There's just no way to edit it. But if that ever changes, I'll definitely look into getting it fixed.

Can you consider sending a ticket to IO regarding this baller clipping issue? You said you knew why the issue occurs so an educated report might put it on their radar. The new patch is out so they are probably in that bug fixing stage so this is the only chance to get their attention.

Here's the link for your convenience: Submit a request – HITMAN 3 Player Support (zendesk.com)   :)

Sure, I can give it a try. However, I submitted a bug report 9 months ago that drowning Vanya Shah in Mumbai is ridiculously bugged, and that's still just as bugged. Even 47's signature suit jacket clips into his back sometimes. Sadly, I don't think they're gonna care about this.

In fact, the WOA update made NPCs all over Paris (the trilogy's first mission) sound like they're wading through knee-deep water at all times. Two major updates since then, and both somehow failed to fix it. If anything, they actually seem to care about not caring.

    Hi te47.

    Great mod, thank you.

But when you're hidden crouched behind something and when you put the gun away after you aim the weapon, the animation of hitman 3 is triggered before reverting to the hitman 2016 animation. It's really weird.

Sorry, English is not my native language.

Thanks for the feedback! I just tried everything I could with a Silverballer, in and out of the cover system, and couldn't trigger any problems. However, I did find an animation glitch when aiming a two-handed weapon while not using the cover system, and then putting the gun away while you're still aiming it (which is something I never thought of trying before). Is that the issue you're seeing?

Edit: Sorry, I thought I was in the comments for my 2016 version! This is probably something I fixed after I switched my focus over to that one. I plan on coming back to the Hitman 2 version with a bunch of the fixes I came up with for 2016 soon.

I found it as soon as I switched from my 2016 version to the Hitman 2 version. It was a bug I fixed for 2016 a while back. I'm not surprised it's here too. I had to overhaul the whole cover system for 2016 to fix that sort of thing, so I may need to do the same thing again for Hitman 2. It wasn't easy, but at least I know what to do now. Thanks for reminding me! :)

I forgot how much more compatible Hitman 2 and 3 are than 1 and 3, and how much better I'm getting at this. Version 1.4.0 is out! Replaced all the cover system animations, which solves the issue you've been seeing. Enjoy! :)

      How responsive, thank you !

I found something else: when you are a standing, then you suddenly take cover behind a barrier halfway up, for example, there is no smooth transition. Agent 47 suddenly teleports crouching behind the barrier.

I did several tests of your mod and this is the last weird thing I found.

Edit : I think it was a one-time bug. I can no longer reproduce it. All is good !

Glad to hear it! I've been really busy with the Hitman 1 version, but this inspired me to start working on a bigger update for the Hitman 2 version. Compared to getting 2016 stuff to work, this should easy. :)

I did several tests to reproduce the bug mentioned above :

1 : go hide crouched behind a barrier or other (something halfway up).

2 : aim with the weapon when you are hidden
      3 : stand up.

4 : go hide crouching behind something.

Conclusion : after having aimed at least once in a hidden crouching way, the next time you try the action of hiding crouching, the animation is weird and not smooth.

Already sorry, I try to make myself understood. English is not my native language.

First of all, is this with all weapons? Or a specific kind of weapon? I can't recreate it with a Silverballer.

Second, there are some tiny weird conflicts between Hitman 2 stuff and Hitman 3 stuff. They very much weren't designed to work together. I've gotten pretty good at getting them to, but all of this is a transplant of hundreds of H2 bits into H3. A few weeks ago, I wouldn't have thought any of this was possible.

Honestly, the cover system has been the hardest part. H2 and H3 cover animations can't be used together. The only way to make it work is to use one or the other. Especially since that meant good left/right movement speeds, I had to go with H2. I'm just glad unarmed and pistol seem to work perfectly.

Edit: Also, is this still happening in 1.5.1? :P

That's what I've been testing it with. I tried all kinds of stuff and couldn't find anything wrong. I'm not sure how you're triggering that.

Also, are you sure it doesn't happen in unmodded Hitman 3? Having compared its contents with Hitman 1 and 2's, it's a complete mess. They broke all kinds of stuff, which has made this project so much harder.

Here is a video of this bug : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HfW3_eP8OuY

The animation for taking cover after aiming the first time is weird. Looks like Agent 47 is teleporting to hide.

I've actually been considering that. Honestly, I think that's my favorite. Hitman 2 just seemed like the safe middleground, plus it's a lot closer to 1 than it is to 3. But I'll definitely look into it.

Edit: Not sure if the GOTY Edition did this, but the animations in Hitman 2016 are currently much faster than I remember (and much faster than Hitman 2's in some cases). I couldn't find slower versions in the files, so I guess they overwrote them.

Edit 2: Never mind, I should've paid more attention when I was testing 2016's animations. I'm officially looking into doing a Hitman 1 version of this, though I'm worried about possible compatibility issues.

The 1.1 update I just posted includes weapon equip/holster animations as a small bonus, but I haven't swapped anything around. I love that idea though, especially since the Sieger (WA 2000) is 47's signature sniper rifle. I really miss actually assembling it from a suitcase like in Blood Money.

something I would really like included is the walking animation with pistols from hitman 1 (2016) as seen here:

      https://v.redd.it/xv4sjioxyfr61

basically where he keeps the pistol straight down at the floor and doesn't swing it all around while walking.

Unfortunately, that's a bug rather than a missing animation. In Hitman 3 without (and with) this mod, it's still possible to trigger that arm position if you keep walking in short bursts and rapidly changing directions, or by aiming or reloading while walking. If you get it, it'll stay until the next time you stop walking. Not much I can do with something like that, sadly.

I understand that him swinging it around is a glitch.

but does this mod make him point the gun straight down (but still swing), like in hitman 2, instead of pointing away from his body at a weird angle?

I'm looking for a way to fix that using even more Hitman 2 (and 1) assets, but it seems to be yet another strange Hitman 3 glitch. The gun faces straight down at the start like it's supposed to, but then it sort of pops up to that weird angle after taking a few steps. It's very odd.

Edit: It might be intentional in Hitman 3. According to some, that's the proper way to hold a gun while walking, so you don't shoot yourself in the foot. That doesn't explain why it still happens using Hitman 1 and 2 animations, though.

Yeah, I agree. I'm still looking for a way to recreate Hitman 1's, since that's obviously the ideal. But so far, I can't even recreate Hitman 2's. The problem might be deeper than the animation files I have access to, but I haven't given up.

Good news: I just posted version 1.6.0, which fixes Hitman 3's awkward pistol angle when walking. It now faces straight down. (It's also fixed now in my 2016 mod.)

The bug with the arm position is still there, but since this one is a Hitman 2 recreation, at least it's now exactly how it is in Hitman 2.

I'd love that as well, but I got back into current 2016 recently and discovered that movement speeds are much faster than I remember. I suspect it has something to do with the GOTY Edition, but many of Hitman 2's animations are a lot slower. Ladders are a perfect example.

I already checked 2016's files, and couldn't find any slower versions. I think IOI overwrote them, unless my memory is seriously off. Without the right animations, there's sadly nothing I can do.

Edit: It's 17 months after I originally made this post, and I have no idea what I was talking about. Hitman 2 has basically no animations that are slower than Hitman 2016's. They kept ladder speeds the same.

Sorry, you're right! I must've been really distracted when I was checking animations in-game, because they seem a lot slower to me now. I'm officially looking into doing a 2016 version of this (or maybe starting with this version and replacing as much as possible).

I'm also still worried about compatibility. It crashed my Hitman 3 when I tested this early on. Aside from possible engine changes, Hitman 2 added suitcases, the slow walk key, etc. Plus I still think Hitman 1 and 2 have much closer styles than 2 and 3, which is why I started this project in the first place. But I'll see what I can do.
