Seconding that I would also love to see this become a toggleable in-game setting (or see the return of a toggleable snap function) - as much as being able to place things anywhere is so so nice (because let's be honest sometimes the restrictions just don't make sense and things should fit in certain spots), being able to snap and align items so they're neat/symmetrical is also nice!
This mod seems to break content from the summer update. For instance while this mod is installed the Felix Felicis potion as well as the prisoner outfit vanish from the game and only return when the mod is removed.
I'm going to take one for the team and explain HOW I made it work without merging, it's totally possible!
First, it seems Hogwarts legacy mods are prioritized from last to first, meaning the last mod on your folder is the one who loads with priority. Taking this, all i did was download the archive, drop it into my ~mods folder, then, in order to make this mod the last mod on my folder, all i did was add as many "z" as needed, so, the last mod in my ~mods folder was a "zz-something" I then renamed this mod "zzzRORUpgrado_P.pak", go in game and lo and behold my mod was working just like that! (this means that if your last mood is a "zzz-something" then you add one extra z to the mod to make it load first, idk how many "z" can you put in there but welp, i don't care as long as this mod is working xD)
This is also what's needed with the merged files. The mod would work overall but some things would not, for me this was placement restrictions still being an issue. I made sure this mod was the second lowest in the file, the only one below being the merged pak and it fixed the rest of the mod. Basically its just very important that this mod is at the bottom of the file location besides the merged mod, annoying but a very easy fix once I read your comment.
The mod works only if I add it in the merger AFTER other mods I have, but in this case my other mods become disabled. If I add other mods after this mod, other mods are working, but this mod is not. So apparently there are some compatibility issues. It's a shame, this is a really great and useful mod. The workaround is a dedicated session just to conjure and move stuff in my Room of Requirement (exit the game, add the mod, load the game and conjure/move objects, exit the game again and remove the mod).
(FIY, two other mods I have are "Talent Reset Potion" and "Some Shiny Beasts")
The problem is, even when you use the Mod Merger, there are serious compatibility issues - you can't use this mod simultaneously with other mods, at least with ones I have...Either other mods work and this one doesn't, or visa versa...
Luckily, due to the nature of this mod, you can create dedicated building sessions while other mods are disabled and it doesn't really matter.
Perhaps I'm mistaken, but it sounds like the mod is using a different version than your game. Update your game to merge without an error. This mod was uploaded on March 14th, and Talent potions was uploaded a month earlier.
JovianStone, I have my game on Steam, it was updated as soon as the March 8th update was released. And this is how it actually works now: I have my other mods updated and merged together into one .pak file by the HMM. Now when I put my mods into my "~mods" folder (other-mods-merged-together-mod and/or RemovePlacement mod), both of them or either one of them, HMM doesn't see any issues in any case and doesn't proceed with any corrections. But now RemovePlacement mod works regardless of whether I have or have not my other merged mods in the folder, but my other merged mods stop working as son as I add RemovePlacement mod (without applying HMM since now it doesn't see any issues and doesn't change anything anyway).
This is very cool mod. Definitely must have mod for this game. Especially players who like to spend time decorating things ;)
If anybody was wondering if this removes snapping restriction, it does removes it completely and gives you a power of great freedom. Now, you can squeeze things in tighter spaces that makes your frustrations goes away like a magic lol No more half-ass home customization ;P Endorsed ;)
Doesn't work. I followed instructions for a few attempts, then tried tinkering with it and nothing changed. Commenting so hopefully it gets fixed as it would be very helpful~
Update: got the file to work by shifting all previous mods to another folder for the time being. All I had in my mods folder was cosmetics so I didn't think it would matter but it definitely did. Best to shift when you're wanting to decorate and take advantage of this~
