Because some people don't seem to understand the purpose of the mod: it's not to allow you to look around. The camera is locked when riding a broom, both for KB&M and controller - this is how the game works and it's another subject whether to change it or not. The mod allows you to move the broom up and down with your mouse, not move the camera up and down. Read the description carefully, please.
If the mod doesn't work:
1. Make sure you're unpacking the 7z into a pak.
2. Checked the mod with QWERTY and AZERTY - it works with both. Try resetting your bindings to default - you can redo them after with the mod installed.
3. If you have mods from multiple sources in multiple folders - who knows, might not work. So put all your mods in one folder: either the root one ("Hogwarts Legacy\Phoenix\Content\Paks") or the separate one for mods ("Hogwarts Legacy\Phoenix\Content\Paks\~mods").
4. Keep in mind that the game stores your Input.ini in the cloud, so Steam can be stubborn and rewrite your changes. If it happens go offline and redo the controls.
5. If you're using several mods that change inputs - you will have conflicts. Not that much can be done about it - we're missing a convenient tool to merge edited inputs on the user side.
It is important for us to say a BIG thank you to the people who are helping the others to sort out their troubles and make the mod working. It's really appreciated because you are giving us time to look for a way to do the next mod and time is essence.
If you've got "random" control inversions, make sure you're not using Spell Helper mod - or you're doing manual edits to your input file suggested there.
Seems to be working still after today's update and believe it or not, seems like the resetting (random inverting) is not happening either at least at the moment for me. Up until now the invert would reset after fast travel (game reloading, etc) but so far it has stayed the same.
**UPDATE** After an entire day dedicated to deep diving every single mod I had downloaded due to issues with the update I finally found the culprit for my inverting issue was the "Emote with Any NPC" Mod. Removed the mod and haven't had it invert since. Also, again, the mod worked after the recent update, BUT due to all the other mod issues I ran into I decided to revert my game version back to the prior build.
I'm having the opposite problem: I never had random inversion problems before the update and how I get it every time I fast travel. I'm about to try one of the fixes from one other other posts and hopefully that fixes it.
Ahh, gotcha. Yeah, before I found the mod conflict for mine I was having to lock my input file every time I played the game and then reset controls in game after each fast travel, reload etc. Was happy to find it was easy in my case to just get rid of that mod. I have like 30-40 others, lol, but again narrowed it down to that.
Thanks for this. It at least got it to work consistently for me. My issue now is just having to reset the controls after every fast travel. It seems to reset them every time there is a reloading event in the game. I made the input.ini read-only like you said so when I do the reset the only thing affected is the inversion which definitely makes it usable. Compared to you I have tons of mods, haha, so it could realistically be any one of them, but just wild it needs reset that often. With that said though....this mod is totally worth it.
What would be cool now is a mod for resetting the bindings in game with a press of a button, haha
i started a new game and i'm using xbox controller i completely forgot i had this mod, my camera controls while flying is horrible and not smooth i cant fly like this. i don't know if it's from this mod so i removed it but nothing changed is it possible that this mod is permanently integrated in my save like in skyrim?
Thank you so much, this is how the broom should have worked from the beginning. Perfect mod! It's wild that having proper control over the broom feels like cheating after being crippled for so long.

Polished broom flight mechanics is the only thing this game was missing and this mod fixes that for me.
Thanks!
I had one question though, is there a way to increase nose dive speed?

In their explainer for the new modding tool, they clearly use the screenshot from your mod in their "marketing material."
For the control inversion which sometimes happens (especially with certain mods):
1) Set your key bindings how you want them.
2) Go to C:\Users\(NAME)\AppData\Local\Hogwarts Legacy\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor and set Input.ini to read-only.
3) Next time an inversion happens, enter controls and hit "reset to defaults".
All that will change is the inversion. Your settings will remain. :)
You'll need to remove the read-only flag if you wish to make any changes. :)
I hope that helps.
Cheers.

maybe i need to remove input.ini?
This is my one and only mod for Hogwart's Legacy, and it was sorely needed.
Cheers. :)
