Low FPS / Crash on startup — This game has problems in its config files which might appear when you run this mod. All fixes are included in Optional Files in the Troubleshooting Tools zip
Crashes or low FPS >go to Troubleshooting Tools > Crash on Startup, low FPS folder
If you have unexpectedly high FPS go to the in-game Graphics Quality > un-check all the ray tracing options > re-check the ray tracing options you want > Click Apply. The game should prompt you to restart to enable ray tracing correctly
Empress is no longer supported. It's simply too complicated to debug just the current version of the game. Please use v9.0 or purchase the game if you're able
If you see dithered shadows the main pak isn't working. In the game menu, ensure Upscaling Technology is not set to "None". The pak uses FSR1 to do de-dithering on the higher quality shadows and will not work with zero upscaling
If you get potato graphics, set in-game graphics to Low > click Apply > set back to Ultra > click Apply
If you've used Empress, you may have a cryptominer causing problems. The miner exits when you open Task Manager. Type tasklist /v in an adnim Command Prompt to find it. Search Reddit for more info.
If you can't quite run the game because your PC is too potato, please let me know and I'll help if I can
Flickering grass with NVidia frame gen > enable Low Latency mode in NVidia control panel (ty to DerUngrund)
Unfortunately, this mod has some issues. I'm using a pretty high-end setup: an RTX 4090 OC Edition, an i9 14900K, and 32GB of RAM. Before, I was running everything on ultra at a steady 120 FPS. With this mod, I can’t get above 48 FPS lol. I think there's a problem with how resources are being used, because there's no way the FPS should drop that much. It's a shame, because it looks amazing, but it’s unplayable like this.
I tried both 2K and 4K, even 1080p out of desperation, but it didn’t make much of a difference — the FPS drop way too much and ruin the experience. To get things back to normal, I had to uninstall everything, delete all the folders, and re-download the game ._.
What is your hardware specs? The least taxing lighting mode would be SSGI or SSAO.
As for turning off Ray Tracing, turning them off in the game settings should be fine. They should be in the graphics tab under the visual quality settings (turning the textures from low to ultra)
I am playing HL on my ROG Ally X with no raytracing, using the lastest version of Ultra Plus. Should I leave the lighting mode on the default RTGI or change to SSGI or GTAO? RTGI looks good, but I think I may be losing a few FPS here or there.
There is a problem with this mod for me. For example, when I enter a room, there is a problem with the lighting, that one moment it is bright, and the next moment unnaturally dark, and so on. I also noticed in one room that the textures were flickering, on some elements. Will you help?
Yeah, I'm having the interior lighting problem, too! It happens when I enter some treaure vaults and some of the shacks in the little hamlets around the overworld. Please someone help or at least explain what is causing this.
EDIT: The lighting problem may be an issue with the game, not this mod. As for the texture flickering, you may have your texture pool set too high for your computer to handle?
I'm on the latest version on the game, and the mod doesn't seem to be working on a fresh install. The game didn't launch at first. I Launched the script on the troubleshooting tools, and the game did work. But there isn't any change. Shortcuts are not working (F3, F4, ...), they do nothing. The textures correctly load 1 meter aways, it's so annoying. What can I do ? I'm on max setting with an RTX4090, DLSS enabled.
Having major issues as well. Most of the time it crashes on the start screen. I ran all the trouble shooting tools which worked at first, but the game is back to crashing on the start screen.
It is a shame because for the five minutes the game was working it looked great, and the traversal stutter was noticeably decreased.
i installed this mod and i got worst fps. I have an rtx 4070 ti super and i get 45 fps in hogsmeade after installing this garbage. Tried deleting the mods and uninstalling but still get fps drop. Give me back my fps. This mod is trash
Yeah, I had the exact same issue. The mod description says nothing is left over after uninstallation, but that's clearly not the case. I got my fps back by turning off ray tracing in the game settings, applying, restarting the game, and turning ray tracing back on (ray reconstruction also defaults to off after switching on ray tracing, so turn that back on as well).

is there a way to stop the game reducing draw distance when flying ? specially foliage draw distance but also landscape meshes ?
