Blueprint mods When installing Blueprint mods, you should pay attention to whether they are made for UE4SS or Blueprint Apparate Modloader. UE4SS Blueprint mods go into: (game directory)/Phoenix/Content/Paks/LogicMods/ While Blueprint Apparate Modloader mods belong into: (game directory)/Phoenix/Content/Paks/~mods/ If you install Blueprint mods in the wrong location, they won't work and can crash the game. Most Blueprint mods are made for the Blueprint Apparate Modloader.
Hello! Just installed mod today via Vortex, the primary thing I'd use it for is to create my MC's clone to take pics with Otis inf. With previous version command uetools_summon bp_biped_player_c would summon the clone and I'd go about doing my silly little screenshots. However now it doesn't recognise that command. Later on I used Summon /Game/Character/BP_Biped_Player .Bp_Biped_Player_C and it recognised it but didn't summon anything, at least not visiable. I tried unrelated command to debug the camera and it worked, so I was just wondering if there's a different command now? Thank You very much in advance :)
Nothing should be different. Do you have any errors in the ue4ss.log? Make sure that CheatManagerEnablerMod, ConsoleCommandsMod and ConsoleEnablerMod mods are enabled.
Okay so I consulted with chat gpt, since I'm still very green in all of this, found all the info, still I couldn't find logs, like anywhere... However I tried typing in summon bp_biped_player_c and my mc clone appeared. So huge thanks for giving me a good place to start my search out! :) Also thank You for creating this mod! :D
Hi there, I'm using the mod with Ultra+ Mod, but whenever I have Dark Arts Flying Animations existed in the Mods folder the game would crash when I tried loading my saves. At first I thought it is something on Ultra+ side but someone at the discord mention using the older version of UE4SS and the Dark Arts Flying Animations doesn't encounter any issue so far.
I tried and it did works if I use older UE4SS I can load Ultra+ and Dark Arts Flying Animations. If I use newer UE4SS included in the Ultra+, I have to remove Dark Arts Flying Animations before I can load my save without crashing.
But this time new issue arise, So I added Immersive Modpack which requires Time Dilator for the mod to works. Installed both mod, runs the game and it loads just fine so I enable both mods using Blueprint Mod Loader.
After enabling both mods, whenever I tried loading my saves the game would just freeze for a moment and crash, until I removed timedilator.sav. Which then loads the game, this time it's either hit or miss sometimes it will load but sometimes it won't.
So I went back using the newer version of UE4SS included in Ultra+ Mod and removing Dark Arts Flying Animations, my game will load just fine even after I enabled Immersive Modpack and Time Dilator Mod.
What could be the problem? And is there anything I could help on identifying the issue?
I've no idea what Ultra Plus mod is doing and which UE4SS version it uses, it may be even self compiled version with some changes. Also I don't know what you mean by "older version of UE4SS" that suppose to work with Dark Arts Flying Animations. Dark Arts Flying Animations itself requires two other mods, Dark Arts Flight and Invisibroom, which haven't be updated since last year. You've to give me more information or figure out in Hogwarts Legacy modding discord what is the issue.
According to the Ultra Plus Mod Changelog it mentions about
Updated with Narknon's latest UE4SS - should fix crashes for a few people
And also for the older version of UE4SS is this one UE4SS_v3.0.1-225-gcd7746e.zip following this instruction.
Does that means with the outdated Dark Arts Flight and Invisibroom are what causing the crash? I would love to help giving more information regarding this if you let me know what to do. This is all I can gather or at least what I'm doing regarding the crashes occuring.
If you ask me, all previous versions and instructions are obsolete. I've uploaded latest technically relevant version of UE4SS together with settings that were needed to make it work with the current state of the game. I have no idea what is going on with the individual mods, but the game has had several updates since March 2023 and many mods haven't been updated since then. Therefore, if something doesn't work, I would investigate the mods first. I personally don't have the time or interest to do this. If mod authors release mods and then don't come back, there's nothing I can do about it. EDIT: Blueprint Mods, like the mods that require Blueprint Apparate Modloader to work can be outdated and since they are not scripts like UE4SS mods you can't just look inside and see what is wrong. Also if a function or a property that they use is missing, they can crash the game.
Works until i fast travel somewhere, then it says jbsProfi not found (i dont have it enabled in the lua mods tab), game is actually still running at this point, when i enable the mod in the lua mods tab the game crashes, i repeatedly have tried uninstalling it completely a and reinstalling, via vortex and manually. latest version(expirimental) and the one before that. the only other mods i use are alohomora (which actually works so the mod should be working besides for the error) and school makeup.
If you want to report a bug, read the Description page. I don't take people seriously who can't read and provide the information I ask for.
And if you use AUTOHOMORA - Auto Skip Alohomora Minigame, it is outdated. Even if it works sometimes, I can't guarantee that it doesn't cause any issues. If you remove it and stop having crashes, then you know what's the problem. At least it was the case for me.
Hello. I didn't have a previous UE4SS downloaded and when I downloaded it, my game kept crashing. So I deleted it and now it's still crashing at the preparing shaders screen. I've visited reddit posts regarding the preparing shaders crash and have already tried the methods of clearing out the data from program data and local app data. I've also tried deleting Hogwarts Legacy from my computer and reinstalling it. I'm not super techy and I'm not good when it comes to programming. I just wanted to use the dark arts mod so please be kind. Does anyone know how to fix this or had this same issue?
EDIT: i deleted the all the dark arts stuff and got past the preparing shaders screen. Now it just crashes after i click my character to load the game.
I don’t know what i’m doing wrong, I simply download this mod by dropping it into the hogwarts legacy folder, everything looks like its in order, but the game crashes out of nowhere randomly only after i downloaded this. ive deleted and redownloaded an older version and its still the same. and yes i did delete every file. i also downloaded this in order to use the dark arts dodge mod, but i dont think its that mods fault.
My game used to crash every time after installing UE4SS. What I did to fix it was to delete all mods that came with UE4SS from the 'Mods' folder, and then delete those mod entries from the mods.txt text file so that the only line present are these:
I have no clue but my game still crashes on entry into a character save. I did read somewhere that you have to change some things in the ue4ss-settings.ini. Is that something that has to be applied? Also, is the xinput file something you need now because it doesnt show up on any downloads nowadays.
No. It's not true anymore. Ignore everything that was said before. It's all outdated. Delete everything old. Reinstall latest UE4SS. If in doubt, delete everything beside HogwartsLegacy.exe and EOSSDK-Win64-Shipping.dll in Hogwarts Legacy/Phoenix/Binaries/Win64 directory. Then install everything again with Vortex. If you still have crashes, read the description page what you need to report a bug.
How are we supposed to know which files to remove exactly? I want to update the UE4SS, but apprently I need to «remove the old version», which was installed a long time ago and I have no clue to know what to delete.
Remove any dll and exe files from the ../Hogwarts Legacy/Phoenix/Binaries/Win64 directory beside HogwartsLegacy.exe and EOSSDK-Win64-Shipping.dll. To be sure, disable/remove all mods and remove the Mods folder as well. Then install UE4SS over Vortex and reinstall the mods.
Good, finally someone implemented the solution I posted back in July... :) The only problem (and very serious one) is, that released version 3.0.1 (with edited INI) worked for me for maybe 2 days, and then it started causing frequent crashes and loading lags (you can see me talking about this in my old comments below). So I switched to an experimental version, and it worked, so as any experimental UE4SS I tried, that was published since than. And the same is true for many other people who replied to my posts and comments in different HL mods discussions. I suspect many players will also run up into the same issue, so unfortunately stable version 3.0.1, even with edited INI, won't be the solution for the majority of players, if any at all...
Nice, thank you! I got the confirmation about stable v.3.0.1 being problematic for Hogwarts Legacy build 1235957 and the advice to use experimental version instead from UE4SS himself on Github, if you're in the same team, you can talk to him for more info about this issue.
And just another small word of warning - apparently for some users some experimental versions also caused crashes, but simple switching to another version solved the problem (you can see Elfykins's comment below for example). I hope v.201 works for everyone.
Nothing what I can do about it. I'm currently not even playing Hogwarts. I made a mod for it long time ago and just saw that nobody it taking care of UE4SS release anymore. I'll wait for crash reports and might look into it then. For now I just hope that the latest version work for the majority.
I haven't tested it and I don't know which mods use it. Before my last upload, UE4SS didn't work at all without special settings, I've fixed that now. If there are any bugs, you can report them to me and I can see if I can do anything about them.

I have tried all the available ones (in "Old Files" section) and none of them worked for me.
It has nothing to do with UE4SS.

2. I've wrote on mod's description page how to report a bug.
Console and GUI Console are mainly tools for developers.
If UE4SS works, you can see it in UE4SS.log
; Built-in keybinds, do not move up!

If you already downloaded UE4SS_v3.0.1-201 with modified INI from here, you don't need to do steps B1 and B3.
