feel like 10x is too much and trivializes the game, any plans on making a 3x version? as that would somewhat offset the difficulty for wargames as a solo player and would be perfect, at least for me.
If all you did was change the numbers in `Homeworld3\Content\Assets\Tunables\PopulationCaps` then don't expect anything different. As I said in the description, the numbers were changed properly here, the game was just imposing a different limit for the categories.
(And why are you not testing this yourself? It seriously only take 30 seconds to launch the game with it and look at the category cap.)
Can confirm the 200 hardcap. Not that it matters much. Starting at around 250 you got lags during leveltransit. At 300 the level loads but your ships won´t (waited 5 min). At 400 Not even the level loads. Just a black screen and sound. Note: that is only for leveltransits. While in the level everything works fine. Small sidenote: During campaign there seems to be an override on the first 2/3 missions. Once you got bombers you can build to your hearts content.
Only tested on strikecraft + probes + collectors. No idea if that number holds true for frigates/destroyers or if that is even lower. Also no idea if that number is influenced by my rig or the game itself. I did note a heavy lag improvement after the last patch for one of the final wargame missions (the one with the 3 production faciltys) so I´m not fully excluding that the game might be improved further.
Doing god's / the gods' work. I was waiting for this (or to start fumbling my way through making it myself once I saw the mod toolkit was out) so I could finish the campaign. Capped too many destroyers to make BC's :D

I honestly forgot I put this up here as I just lost all desire to play H3. I went back to play Cat to wash the bad taste out of my mouth LOL.
Looks like fighters have only cap 200.
I'm not able to produce more.
But for some reason the game seems to be capping the category? I have no idea why and thus no way to fix it.
