    Hi, so I have followed the instructions exactly. Unzipped the Bepinex file into the root idle slayer installation directory

    Then I unzipped the chest revealer and mod core plugins into the plugin folder in the bepinex sub folder

    Idle slayer no longer launches

    When I start the game I get a command prompt popup saying
    downloading unity base libraries

    then I see a whole lot of red text and
    "executing 0 patches"

    and the game crashes instantly.

    I am at a loss and not sure what I can do to fix it.

    Any ideas?

      Hi, I just want to add, that I have seen multiple posts on on the bepinex file area with the same issue, and it seems it doesn't like some networks. I am using my real ISP in Australia and that ISP has never had an issue with anything, it doesn't even blacklist the usual sites that many large ISPs do. I might try using nord VPN set to USA and see if that works. I'll keep trying!

      If I install an older version of bepinex, the game launches fine but the mod doesn't work in chest hunt, so I guess I have to get this latest version working somehow.

      Nope, I have tried multiple VPN regions. Nothing works. I have located the error log text file and this is what it says (btw I am presuming the crash happens when the command prompt opens and says it's downloading unity files).

      "Unhandled exception. System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'UnityEngine.CoreModule, Version=0.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'. The system cannot find the file specified.

      Yep there seems to be an issue related to networks, one user said that Hamachi was blocking the unity libraries downloads for him. Only thing I can potentially do as a workaround is upload this version of bepinex with the unity stuff already in place because sadly there isn't really anything else I can do about it

      The weird thing is I am with Aussie Broadband which is a major ISP here and I tried 10 different VPN addresses also.

      BTW the game was updated today, steam auto installed it, I am curious if he patched the hacks out or anything. Time will tell.

      If you do upload with the unity stuff in place, that was my next question to ask someone to send me the files after the download has worked for them..... it would be so amazing thanks, cause chest hunt is so rigged and I didn't know that till recently and spent a lot of real money on slayer points to play it with souls multiplier boosts, I actually made a lengthy post about it at steam.

      Still working on my end - I have uploaded https://www.nexusmods.com/idleslayer/mods/1?tab=files a second version here - titled "PRELOAD" which comes with all the files in place. Hopefully this will work for you

      And I agree, the chest hunt achievements are a nightmare to get without insanely good rng or lots of money spent.

      Hi, just saw this, trying it now. Thank you so much.

      The last 11, yep, 11 chest hunts have shown me an armory chest after I've died. That's just in the last 3 days. It's driving me crazy and it's much worse since the update, I usually don't get beyond 5 to 7 chests now.

      No, sadly that didn't work, same crash. I am giving up for now and stopping playing cause the dev is such a dishonest cheater, and considering I have given him so much money, I am appalled.
      There's a lot more to this and I didn't want to get into it all here, so I won't, but at least where the mod is concerned, I can't get it to work.

      I unzipped the new download you presented directly into the idle slayer folder, and it overwrote a bunch of files (I use winrar, paid version, I always support small devs and I'll be supporting you too as soon as I can get this to work).

      I then placed the plugin dlls, two of them, in the plugins folder. I presume they just go straight in (revealmimics.dll and idleslayermods.common.dll).

      Or do they need to be in their own subfolders too? I'll try that anyway but it won't work as I tried it both ways originally.

      What I don't understand is why NordVPN won't work if it doesn't like my ISP, and I tried close to 40 VPN addresses now.

      The only thing I can think of is that this issue is not ISP related at all but wi-fi related and doesn't work with certain cards, I have a killer 1690i wi-fi 6e in my laptop, the laptop is completely stock, and I am using the current intel drivers.

      I am at a complete loss why this won't work.

      EDIT - My sincere apologies, I downloaded the wrong file, not the one titled PRELOAD. Am trying again now. I also have another idea, I am going to disable my wifi card and plug in to an ethernet port downstairs to see if that works, if the preload doesn't work. Finally, a totally different network, I can disable all on board laptop networks cards and plugin in my iphone over USB and that may work too, different ISP and using the 5G network. So I have an army of things I can now try, of course first being your preloaded download which may just work and solve the problem straight away! Of course I will make a new post letting you know either way. Thanks again.

      Thanks for keeping me updated - let me know if you have success with the preload! Overwriting shouldn't be an issue but just in case I'd always recommend deleting the bepinex and dotnet folders, then re-adding bepinex just in case there are some file compatibility issues.

      But yeah if the preload doesn't work for you then I really don't know what else to suggest here, so fingers crossed that this will work for you

      Edit: whether the dll is directly in the plugins folder, or is inside a subfolder within plugins doesn't make a difference, as long as the mod is unzipped in there I believe.

      Wow man, it just worked straight away. Where can I donate to you? It will only be a tenner until my next retirement pension payment comes in 2 weeks, as I spent all my disposable already (yes, ok, I am let's say a "mature age" gamer, so a big kid at heart and will be for the rest of my days)!
      But I guess that's better than nothing, just my way of saying thanks for now.

      So we have an official, working fix, and I do believe if it worked on my system it will work on anyone with the same crash issue.

      So if you are reading this and have the mod not working/crash  issue, download the PRELOAD bepinex file linked in this conversation!

      All I have to do now is work out how to show armory chests, because as it stands I have to keep doing a perfect chest hunt to know if there were any (until reveal of course) and I just feel "safer" not to raise suspicion with the dev, if I do a perfect let's say every 20 hunts or so and leave a couple boxes in the others (1 or 2 max so still very worthwhile playing).

      So yeah if there's ones with an armory chest, since I have missed 12 in the last 3 days (yep, it has revealed armory chests to me literally 12 times after I have died in chest hunt in just the last 3 days), I can hit that before I plan to hit the mimic.

      One thing I don't get. I know for a fact chest hunt is rigged. So since the mimic boxes aren't moving around, I presume what displays under the box is rigged rather than being an actual pattern like it shows you afterwards (for example probably no armory chest in any of those 12, just showing me there was to annoy me at the end reveal).

      In any case, stellar work.
      If I knew about this all those times I spent a 50 soul multiplier when I saw a chest hunt key..... and got mimicked out within 3 presses (and I have 2 savers) - then.

      Actually I want to discuss the rigged bit more.

      My background is in probability theory, and things that have happened to me in chest hunt are statistically impossible.

      For example
      - I have played nearly 2500 chest hunts. In about half of them, there has been a 20x multiplier box. In a third of that half, there has been more than one 20x box. In 2500 games, I have never ever landed on the 20x multiplier. If it's not rigged, that's impossible. Again it could just be showing me that was there on the death reveal and it really wasn't, so I suppose that's the only explanation.

      -There are stages where I hit 2 mimics and use my 2 savers, then press the shield, and then hit 2 mimics and get nothing. Hitting 4 mimics in a row, say in 20 games, is statistically VERY unlikely.

      -Then there are the multiplier stages. Every box out of the first 10 boxes I hit are multipliers, then I mimic and lose and end up with nothing. How on Earth, in about 100 games thus far, can I mimic out with nothing and hit ONLY multipliers?

      - I have always gotten way less with a souls multiplier in Chest hunt than without, as it kills me off almost instantly. If the mimics don't move, there has to be just ONE game where it's a normal run like the others. Again, impossible if not rigged.

      - Finally, I started doing some scientific testing and measured 50 games. Because I activated the X2 divinity, in a small portion of those games where I pressed the X2 before the saver chest, I would get 2 savers. 
      Out of 50 games, THIRTY of the 50 were a mimic straight after the X2 chest. 18 of those 30 were TWO mimics in a row, when I already had the single shield activated. So, death. Again, impossible. So the only sense I can make of it is that the mimics are static but what is revealed on a "good" chest is actually random, when it should be as it's shown when you die if the dev was fair. You walk in, a random pattern is generated, and that's what you reveal on your clicks. Simple as that.

      Other things in the game, like sucker punch of which I currently have 3 percent, I haven't seen one in days and played 200 chest hunts in the last 4 days. That means it's another lie, as I should have had 6 sucker punches out of those 200 deaths if the 3% was real. Just like the material drop rate and boosters, and the excellent armory rate, all lies. I spent 8 AUD *just* for the crystals to buy the excellent armory chance boost, and it shows my chance at 10 percent, and I have now gotten 148 armory items and only one excellent sword and 1 excellent shield. That's WAY less than 10 percent, it's actually not even close.

      After unlocking the armory and upgrading to get the 10% chance, I had to play 200+ hours (not joking) to get ONE excellent sword so I could complete the albert quest, I got it on my 125th Armory sword (yep), and now it wants an excellent armor for the next albert quest. Because the prize of the first one was so essential, I presume the next one would be also. HOWEVER, I don't know if I have it in me to play weekly prizes for 6 feathers each time, and use 3 of those feathers just to get an armor armory item. Going by my previous stats, it would take me maybe 10 to 20 weeks to get one excellent armor. So I think this is the point where enough may be enough, as I am in at 571 hours, and I am getting annoyed now. That's all real playing, no auto scripts.

      I had to adapt to a controller as I felt my laptop keyboard was going to eventually get damaged, so I did create a perfect profile with joy2key for those who would like to use a controller, and if you have an auto fire controller even better (I use an 8bitdo pro 2, remember, old hands, arthritis, auto fire essential for me when holding a controller).
      If anyone uses joy2 key and wants it, let me know and I'll upload it somewhere but I don't think it's a mod as such so I can't upload it at this site. But it's tuned perfectly. Right stick for mouse with perfect acceleration, right trigger for enter/fire, d pad is mapped for village and mountain mini game, Rage is on L3 because I found it's always accidentally pressed if on left bumper or trigger, A, X, B (xbox layout) also fire/jump. Works great, you don't need to touch the mouse at all believe it or not, but I still do use the touchpad for equipment updates just to make it quicker.

      Anyway, cheers. Will check the instructions now on how to show armory items.

      Yes for sure, this should hopefully fix the issue for everyone who struggles with the non preload version!

      If you want to enable armory crate reveals, you need to enable them in the config - you can open this with notepad or any other text editor - inside the game's folder > BepInEx > config > RevealMimics file. There are 3 options within, all with explanations and any that you want to enable you simply swap the false after the = sign, with true instead.

      Yeah I suppose being knowledgable in statistics makes what you went thru with the chest hunts even more painful to bear. This game is super rigged so often!

      Lastly, one thing I can recommend if you want to save lots of time for perfect chest hunts (i'll be putting this in the mod description too):
      You need the following:
      - the silver shield perk (can't remember the name but it lets you tank the first 2 hits if they are mimics)
      - the x2 duplicator divinity
      - the red shield that lets you block any single mimic attack.
      - (optional) fast chest animation divinity

      Then do the following:
      1. Since (from my observation) there are always 4 mimics, the strategy is to deliberately hit 2 mimics at the start of the hunt and burn your silver shields.
      2. Select the duplicator chest, then the red shield chest to duplicate it.
      3. Select the last 2 mimics on the board to slay them.
      4. ???
      5. Profit as chest hunt then auto opens all the chests for you (bonus points of you have the fast chest animation divinity)

      Yeah, thanks, I found the config file as soon as I posted LOL and changed them all to true.

      I have done nearly 50 chest hunts since my post, and not a single armory item. So I was right - after showing me that I "missed" 12 in the past 3 days, they were never really there, the dev just programmed the game to be annoying to make it look after the remaining chest reveal that there was one there.

      Yeah I have everything but the fast animation as I can't spare the divinity points right now as I have all the souls divinities activated which are more important to me, and now I have two quests that require divinity points. In fact, I thought I wasn't going to have to Ultra ascend again but it seems I have to as one of the village quests needs 5 astral keys and I had enough but I spent some on the 20% CPS gain in the permanent crafting area, wish I knew and would have never done that. Oh well. 

      Before the mod, I'd always hit 2 chests first, then the saver. If I was lucky enough to hit the X2 in the first two, I'd then hit the saver which would give me two remaining shields rather than one. Even with that, if the 100x souls multi was active, all I would get is mimic after mimic, hence rigged.

      Yeah it seems super rare to even get the armory item, even when playing with the mod you will see that it will almost never reveal one, they feel like a myth at this point! When it came to testing, I had to force chest hunts i think about 50 or so times just to get one to show up to make sure my mod worked! Ridiculous!

      That's fair enough with the divinity points, it's a nice to have with the fast anims but definitely not as important as other things!

      Hi, sorry to bother again, just a suggestion. Please in no way take this as a complaint, just an opinion.

      My laptop panel is a very colour accurate 4K mini LED, and even on that (it is 1100 nits) with brightness up, the armory chest looks almost identical to the X2 chest. They are a barely different shade of green. My idea, IF it's easy to edit just a colour in the mod, is to have armory items a nice bright blue. So we'd have brown for basic chests, red for mimics, yellow for multipliers, Green for X2 and blue for armory. Anyway, that's my idea. Heck, if a nice blue is hard to do, even black would be OK, just to properly differentiate it from the X2.

      Thanks for the suggestion! You see, the armory crate is supposed to have a blue hue to it, but it doesn't seem to translate well over the brown - perhaps you're right with trying a light blue though, I'll give it a test and update the mod if it's more visible!

      Update: sadly no luck with getting the colours to be unique enough, seems to only allow certain colour ranges unfortunately.

    Hi, i need help, when i launch idle slayer, and i have for a fact placed melonloader correctly and all the other mods in the mod folder of melonloader, but even after all that when i launch idle player it just doesn't respond, it a completely transparent interface, the only thing that appear is the melonloader interface and their is no apparent errors on it, can someone help me please.

      And this is causing the game to crash for you? Also it doesn't say that any mods have been detected or loaded, did you make sure that you downloaded the -MELON LOADER- version of each mod?

      yes, the show chest thing and the idle slayer core mod, and the game doesn't crash, it never fully launch, to be more precise it is shown in taskmanager that the game is launched and i can select it with alt+tab but the game window itself is completely transparent, the only thing that seems to work is the melonloader, if you can't find why this is happening i think i will deinstall then reinstall everything (except the game itself since it been working since last year)

      It's just really weird to me that the mod loading isn't showing up in your console. I think reinstalling it will be worth a try! But I would uninstall, then launch your game to make sure it works again, then reinstall.

      I finished testing after reinstalling everything (except the game) and it finally work!!! I have no f*#@ing idea what did i do wrong before because i did the same thing and now it work, anyway thank for your help

    So does the chest hunt mod work at all? i deleted bepinex and downloaded Melon. Is melon broken too or just bepinex and if not how do i get melon to work with chest hunt i think i have my files in the wrong place possibly. Any  help?

      Did you:
      - Download the melon loader version of this mod?
      - Download idle slayer mods core?
      - Put the mods inside the Mods folder

      Are you getting any errors in the console?

      Yes i put "Chest Revealer -MELON LOADER--2-1-2-1-1742904726"  inside the Mods folder inside "MelonLoader x64-6-0-7-0-1742864670" When i open the game and get a key it doesnt work the mimics arent red anymore. do i put "Idle Slayer Mods Core -MELON LOADER--3-1-1-1-1742904034" in that Mods folder aswell?

      yeah, the idle slayer core mod is necessary for the correct fonction of the chest reveal mod, it is said so when you search the requirement of the mod chest reveal

    Hey bro just saw you switched to melonloader. I followed all of the steps and when I go to open idle slayer everything loads in the console of melon loader but idle slayer just doesn't respond. Is melonloader different in the sense where instead of with bepinex we drag mods into the plugins folder and now with melonloader the plugins folder is empty?

      Yeah, for melon loader all the mods go into the Mods folder. Is the console showing any errors when the game crashes?

    Hello with the BepInEx version you could trigger the chest hunt with a keyboard button (for me with the O key). With the Melon launcher no longer, otherwise all mods work again, thanks for that. With the Bonus Stage Completer mod the trigger keyboard works (for me P) is there a keyboard assignment somewhere that I haven't found yet?

      Update was forced, couldn't launch game without updating (Steam).

      It's ruined all the controls for me, my Joy2Key profile too. The narcissist has totally screwed over his users again, probably needed something to make him happy for the day (the dev of idle slayer I mean).

      I am glad it's not just me that the mod no longer works for, so I'll be patient. Will just do the short egg quests every day till the mod works again and actually have a break from the game, so probably a Godsend in some ways for those like myself who are at 700 hours of their life on this game now LOL.

      On a serious note, I do hope the mods are working for all of you again soon.

      Right now it's until further notice, I'm afraid. If I make any progress or receive further info, I will update the sticky post on the BepInEx mod page.

      But yeah, I suspect that the dev has deliberately shut out bepinex mods by force closing the game. I could be wrong, but that's what I theorize.

      I just stumbled and installed your mod a day before the update went live.
      lucky me, that I had the foresight do change the update settings, but now I prob wont be closing the game anymore :d

    I don't understand how to get it working. I put all the BepinEx into the idle slayer folder then clicked into it. I clicked the Plugin folder and put in the core and reveal mimic mod folders in there and it still won't work
