When I tried replacing the file THEGREATCIRCLECONFIG. LOCAL., I didn't find the original file in the folder base. I use a gtx 1080ti by the way. Is there any way out?
Well that's great but this game still need more patching and optimization moving forward i can tell you one thing. Both The RT And the DLSS is broken in this game currently at the moment no amount on tweaking with the config file is going to allow for a great gaming experience. In it's current state RT is tanking the framerate even at the lowest setting possible more than 85% of the vram is already taken. And most of my settings is at low and medium and yet the framerate does not remain consistent which is 60fps in the game dips in the same areas.
@Matt7750b - Dude this is a you problem. The game has unusually good implementation and optimization of HW Lumen. I actually have never seen it done better, everything considered. DF's Alex is a hard to beat 3d tech wizard/oracle and he agrees w that 100%. It sure is a demanding game but this trend is only gonna accelerate, RT/PT is here and the only logical way forward so we can finally put all b[/f]aked lighting and incorrect shadows to pasture. That bs is horrible in every way. Fidelity and more importantly, realism/perfection(-ish), is king as far as lighting goes and i for one can't wait til more or less all games demand hw rt/pt capability. Realism and Immersion with no skibedifukwad eyesores... or 50% extra FPS so you have a 21.2% higher chance to stick that 360noscope to the other 14yo's... doesn't matter what you prefer tbh... This is the way. Deal with it. [edit:] DLSS was broken at launch but i thought they had fixed that already, no?
@c47n1p - Listen there's no such thing as a you problem when many other's including myself have reported the same issue. DLSS and Frame generation is still broken like it on not it functions for a few seconds then stops completely. What alex from DT foundry was pointing out was the usage of the vram thanks to RT along side that the pool texture and shadow quality which eats vram for dinner. The Xbox Series X is running on a much lower RTGI than the pc version it's clear as day that the xbox was their primary focused platform not the pc. Even if you set your game to low and medium settings the game still struggles to maintain a solid fps gaming experience with all the stutters and hitching in the same areas and checkpoints that i have encountered and many other folks not just me. This game still needs more polish but patients is required this game is far from optimized in it's current buggy state if the game is running fine for you great have fun. But let's not pretend like these issues aren't present because they are it's up the developers to fix these issues not the end user. I get what alex was saying though that you have to work within your vram budget but guess what buddy that still does not fix the unstable framerate and the stuttering. Anyway good luck convincing the majority of gamers that's having this problem that it is a YOU problem not just this forum. Issues don't fix itself the game is a half baked product especially the (PC Version) after the recent patches the game is still currently bogged down by Broken DLSS and bugs.
Totally agree! I am on an i7 (11th gen), 32GB RAM, RTX3080 laptop (8gb vram). Even with all low settings and 1080p, I get rapid frame drops into the 30s from 60 very often. Its not playabale at all. Time for new hardware? I would say so. UE 5 sucks but its easy to build on so its not going anywhere.
Having said that its 'upgrade time', it shouldnt be. It's not a 'Me' problem either. This game could have had options to remove RT. I dont see why not. Dropping the 8gb vram crowd is really stupid (if this is, indeed, one of the problems) given that alot of the new gen of Nvidia GPUs will be 8gb based by the looks of the rumours.
Ait. I ain't trying to convince most gamers. For one, it ain't perfect... never said it was. What you need to do to convince me (won't happen since you can't do it, or anyone yet... ofc there will be better ID and maybe even *pukin a lil bit* UE5...) is to explain which area they should have learned more about... in their engine lol... that you seem to think is just a bottomless pit of priceless tweaking menu's and a little impossible infini-slider to choose your fps. Everything is a tradeoff with modern engines doing modern engine things on a world top tier level. Show me the area of the engine you think would need to git targeted if that's where you are gonna drip some mystic megapixel sauce from sleeve of Wizard of Trace, or if you think they should cut down on for example rtgi, (sun)shadows, diffuse/glossy/inter/etc -reflections, subsurface Scattering, specular highlights or whatever... cut down on foliage s#*!, less bounce (less bounce? MO Bounce, Bounce, Bounce! :P ) fuk wit denoiser etc etc, tell me what they should change and more important since this is why it is futile af fr... whatever you do can't have a more than tiny effect on anything other than performance. This is MachineGames's game... their vision, my orgasmic rayreceiving. Second futile chance to let me know o grand wizard of kaputt knowledge: What part of the HW aspect could you swing your wand over? PTX? your bespoke wizard speedup 4 compute trick lol?, maybe i'll try an easier format... pick one: ML Library (if so DF or ML more important and why) or Toolkit? (if so do you believe it is at a core lvl (what language)? Maybe it's on a driver lvl... You have no idea how to make a flowchart of anything, and absolutely no clue what tensor cores really do or how their task is different from cuda and i don't even think you understand the basics of what happens and how, or even the purpose of compiling. Pretty sure that you, just like 97% of everyone bi7chin about everything Nvidia/UE for instance. It is in it's 1st fkn stage on the consumer PC lvl, and consoles ain't ready to implement it more than a few cases imo. At least not like CP/Indy/AW2 PT. That *is* broken as always b4 i guess you're right about that part... but FG will be vastly improved with dlss4&Reflex2 (don't have to x4 frames... even tho it is lookin pretty responsive in the few cases i've seen it used. CP2077 with DF John is one) no cap shits gona go nuts fr. Consoles? No idea dude... probably what you say whatever that was. Had a Silicon Graphics in the 90's... at home. Indigo was her model name and she was a beauty fo sho... Also love Python and everything "system" so i got some cool software for i.e. flowcharts and such nerdassery and i'm learning to code in C++ which by the way is the language i asked for as a sub question. Ment no foul as i keep sayin... mean it tho but i am gettin fkn tired of this gen (pick one) and their insane lack of knowledge for people who talks in absolutes and d3rrpz. IDtech doesn’t use Lumen. Their approach is a different novel method for hardware accelerated dynamic lighting.
However I do agree, there is not a single better optimized RT only game out there right now. Metro is good, but it’s older and the fidelity is lower. Whilst Cyberpunk is a different beast in itself, and while being very optimized, it is not built from the ground up, for fully RT/PT render paths.
