I'm getting bad pop-in regardless if I have it set to 5, 1 or not have the line at all in Sukhothai, so something else must be affecting it.

This comment is as of Feb 2nd, 2025. So after the next update, this may not be an issue any more.

I played thru the whole game with r_lodscale 3.
I suggest keeping that value for most the game - it helps a lot. However, once you get to Siam, i would suggest deleting that value and just using the vanilla settings. While Lod Scale 3 really helps in most locations, once you reach Siam it casues really bad LOD pop in, textures will disappear, etc. The end of the game introduces more large scale NPCs and foliage, which seems to not react well to this setting.

So, set r_lodscale 3 at start of game. Then delete once you reach to Siam.

I still have them , it dosn't work. I try r_lodscale 2,3,4,5,-10 ...and still the shadows just pop.

    Any solution?

r_lodscale 5 contain visual bugs and not recommended. Also it create massive perfomance hit on openworld area.
    Better use r_lodscale 3 or r_lodscale 2 instead

It also still has pop-in, so it's not really worth going that high.

Trees in Sukhotai go crazy with 3+. So probably stick with 2. They freak out with 2 as well. I no longer recommend making this change.

Is there a way to turn off white dot/crosshair from those config files? Or add a file to get that white dot off?

I'm sure you can use Reshade to toggle HUD on & off.

      There's a way.

Download Lyall's GreatCircleFix (from github... Google it. Posting links here is a pain in the arse)

It an ASI plugin that will unlock all console commands.

When ingame, press "tilde" key to bring up the console (it depends on the region of your keyboard... it's the key to the left of number 1)

"listcvars - help" (always without quotes) lists all (long) console commands.

"g_showcrosshair 0" (again, NO quotes) removes the intrusive white dot.

"g_showhud 0" removes the entire hud elements

Type the same command and switch "0" to "1" to bring them back.

      Hope it helps  ; )

This works really great for the early parts of the game but when in Sukhothai it will have a lot of problems and also the performance hit in that area is crazy. I always thought this game should be played with path tracing maxed out as it runs so nicely until I got into that area and then even with DLSS Performance + FG on a 4k display I sometimes drop as low as 65fps with my 4090 + 9800x3D. Turning off Path Tracing you immediately jump up to 120fps on DLSS Quality which looks and feels much smoother.

Just a heads up, whenever you change a setting ingame, the game erases any manual addition to the config file. So the only way to make this stick is to add it only after you adjusted any ingame settings to your liking, then adding it to the config file and then make that file read-only. Whenever you want to change an ingame setting, you have to reverse this obviously, then add the lod setting again and make it read-only again.

I hope things like this will be added to the general game settings with a future patch.
