Can someone post step-by-step instructions for how to use this? That includes Fmodel My goal: Opening the original assets such as props and bodies to see if I can edit/mess with them. Full Disclosure: I have never done this before, and it's just something I want to try/mess around with. I also have some brain damage, which is why I need step-by-step instructions. Thanks in advance.
1. Download the file (not through the nexus mod manager) 2. Place downloaded .exe file in inzoi>BlueClient>Content>Paks 3. Choose a PAK file from that folder (set your folder view to detail to see the file type) 4. Drag that PAK file onto the inZOI Patching.exe 5. It will open the terminal and automatically extract the dragged PAK file into the same folder. It will make a PAK and BAK file.
Can you explain the order in which you worked? From what I understand right now
1. Put your patch file into C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\inZOI\BlueClient\Content\Paks 2. Drag and drop the pak file to inZOI Patching.exe 3. using fmodel load C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\inZOI
I can't get this to work unfortunately. Everything is in the same directory so i don't know what I'm doing wrong. I drag and drop the PAK, the directory appears but nothing happens
This doesn't extract the pak files, it just makes them accessible to be extracted.
If you try to load them you get an error message of an uknown pak format, but when I run this tool I get this message BEFORE I run this:
File D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\inZOI\BlueClient\Content\Paks/BlueClient-Windows.pak has an unknown format
after using this tool you will have a *.pak.bak file as well as the new version that this program made and the new message when opening in umodel:
Pak D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\inZOI\BlueClient\Content\Paks/BlueClient-Windows.pak: 98 files (33 encrypted), mount point: "/BlueClient/", version 11
How are people extracting the pak files though? I get an error in umodel after this point when I try to click on any files to view.
How do you get around not having the mapping file?
[ERR] CUE4Parse.UE4.Exceptions.ParserException: Package has unversioned properties but mapping file is missing, can't serialize at CUE4Parse.UE4.Assets.AbstractUePackage.get_CanDeserialize()
@johntaber Thank you, I've spent all afternoon trying to figure it out so thanks again for posting this decryption tool in the first place. It seems like we will have some good modding with people like you already making the tools like this.
Does Fmodel let you repack assets, or how do you get new textures/models into the game?
Drag and drop a .pak file onto the .exe and it creates two files, the original.bak and the new copy (which makes the game no longer run so move these files before testing). That's all you can do is drag and drop pak files onto the exe to correct the "unknown pak format error" which is needed since you can't see the files without this.
The new file will get a message that it is encrypted (and thus extractable) whereas the other one says it will have an unknown format. If you try to load them you get an error message of an uknown pak format, but when I run this tool I get this message BEFORE I run this:
ERROR-ORIGINAL FILE: File D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\inZOI\BlueClient\Content\Paks/BlueClient-Windows.pak has an unknown format
FIXED-INZOI PATCHING FILE: Pak D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\inZOI\BlueClient\Content\Paks/BlueClient-Windows.pak: 98 files (33 encrypted), mount point: "/BlueClient/", version 11
You don't need the public key file I don't think for anything, it just needs to be in that folder from what I understand.
Once the files are unlocked you should be able to load them into Fmodel to view the assets.
It will say they are encrypted inside of that is where you will need the AES key to look at the files. Umodel crashes at this point, and I need to try Fmodel myself but that is what most people are saying works.

Is this the process above?
