Cutscenes work, but for some reason the Loadscreens are just plain white for me. Any insight? Ive tried installing a few times. If there were TBX that matched from the original folder, they were deleted as most mods work that way.
Hmm that's the first I've heard of that. I've never encountered it personally, nor has anyone else reported that to me. So I honestly have no idea why that would be happening on your end.
Just adding this here in case anyone else is having the same issue. I read on another mod forum that removing "loadprogress.gui" in the override folder solves the issue.
Yes! That was exactly what I needed to do, but a word of warning, do it before launching the game. Otherwise it'll crash, and in my case take your last manual save with it. Thank you so much for the advice!
Anyway you can upload these to another site or source? taking 4 hours to download 15GB on gigabit internet is a bit ridiculous - forced [email protected]/sec download speeds is disgusting
So are you going to release an AI upscaled version of base game textures? I was planning to do just that, but I won't have to if you will. Also, I'd recommend putting up a video showcasing the upscaled cutscenes if it's not too much trouble.
I actually already have. The problem I had was I upscaled the textures too much, which caused many of them to outright break when in game. So I had to go through the entire game, checking textures as I played through to see what, if anything broke. Then try to identify which textures they actually are in the files and correct them. Which to be honest I haven't done much in a while. I am meaning to finish it soon, I've just been super busy IRL lately. But I do intend on finishing it.
Ah alright that's good to hear, do you have a list of the textures that broke and at which size they broke? I'd appreciate even a general idea of what kind of textures tended to break
Anything really, could be the ceiling of a bridge, doors on buildings, grass outside etc. There are some textures that I found that broke once upscaled by any amount so I've had to leave them non upscaled. Such as the sand on the beach at Two Rivers. Practically all water textures in the game broke the moment they were upscales, even a tiny bit. I also found that having the textures upscaled caused the flying mini game to break eventually. Once up to a certain point, there is one flying mission that will cause the game to crash with any of the textures upscaled.
Is there any chance you would be willing to make a Steam Deck compatible version for the cutscenes? By default, the cutscenes are heavily stretched, cut off in the middle (only the top half is shown), and riddled with line artifacts. I'm reasonably certain this is just a resolution issue. The Steam Deck's screen resolution is 1280 by 800. I'd really appreciate it if you would do this for me and anyone else playing Jade Empire on the Steam Deck, as there doesn't seem to be a fix for this anywhere.
Possibly in the future? I don't have a steam deck and to be honest I'll likely never get one. It's of no interest to me as I don't game on the go, only at home.
If you want all upscaled cutscenes, yes. They were too large for me to upload all as one file. Which is why they are 2 separate files. The third file contains only the loadscreens so you'll need that if you want them.
Appreciate the mod, thank you! If I may request, could you upload a version that maintains the original aspect ratio, stretching the cutscenes wider makes the proportions of everything look out of wack, like that Wide Putin Walking meme.
The last time I played this game was on the xbox360 when I was 15 and a freshman. Now that I have a PC I'm collecting as many mods as I can, and this is the first one. Thanks for the mod, it's clear you put a lot of effort into it.

My assumption is that the game simply doesn't read them, unsure
Edit: I removed your files from the override and the issue still occurs, I'm curious whats causing it now lol
