when i click run a small window pops up that says "D'OH" and the window title says s#*! Happened. Im pretty sure it didnt install fonts still the same.
I got it...I had to run TexMod as Administrator...but now have another question...the font is fine when i run the game through TexMod but it goes back to normal when I run the game normally...do you have to run the game every time through this TexMod to get the HD Fonts?
I must not be installing this right because I have the letterbox removal but the fonts are still blurry for me on 1440p. I doubt I'll get a response before I finish a playthrough but hopefully in the future I can figure this one out.
I'm gonna go ahead and guess that four months later you've finished the game, sorry. Still, if you're having problems with it I'll try and help. Make sure you follow the Texmod instructions, especially if you're playing the game on Steam.
The fonts should be compatible with anything, they use the vanilla character table and do not replace any files in the game directory.
I'm not familiar with everything that other mod changes, but if you install my GUI files last after installing any other mods, then it should work fine since the files only directly affect the dialogue window. If you encounter a problem it can be easily fixed by simply re-installing Dunde's mod. Or you can search your existing override directory for the two files this mod replaces and back them up first, before installing it. That will be even quicker.
I haven't tried it yet (just installed the game, haven't even started a char!), but I noticed this comment, and judging by the video clips at Dunde's mod, it looks like Dunde's mod already gets rid of the letterbox effect. The font in this mod is golden though, I've already installed it using the EasyTexMod method recommended actually by Dunde above (or below), and it's already showing up in the menus, and it gets rid of the "fuzzy" looking text the game has out of the box. Very nice indeed!
Thank you for the mods, it increases the experience of the game lot, with better and more readable fonts. For ones who play from Steam, I recommend EasyTexMod at XCOM Enemy Unknown Nexus - mods and community (nexusmods.com). It works perfectly, and for more clean result, after first successful load, edit autotexmod.ini, change JadeEmpire_REAL.exe to JadeEmpire.Exe, rename your jadeempirelauncher.exe to jadeempirelauncherORI.exe, rename jadeempire.exe (created by EasyTexMod) to jadeempirelauncher.exe, and jadeempire_REAL.exe to jadeempire.exe. You can now launch the game from steam library and still have the texmod loaded.
