In order to run it on steam deck, use WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dxgi,d3d11=n,b" %command% (put it into kenshi->properties->launch options) This way you'll utilize .dll libraries this fix employs.
Thank you! Amazing! Almost doubled my fps, maybe I can turn on shadows again. Reshade for Vulkan works but will sometimes tank the FPS on my pc so keep that in mind when using. Now I'm off to tank my FPS by downloading way too many mods!
The game launcher won't start when I have this mod installed. I have downloaded the Vulkan runtime and updated my 4060 driver. What else can I do to solve this?
im afraid nothing? mod might simply not work for you its DX11 Software so most reasonable would be to use this architecture for the game i also unironically think Nvidia 4080 should be powerful enough for DX11 Kenshi (without mod) you might gain more with Performance Fix and PSO
If your driver are 570, at the moment the driver have some issues with vulkan in general (I hope nvidia fix it soon...), it it the case, can be better play wideout dxvk for now, but SCARaw other mods must be orking fine.
you can just not use the mod or not use reshade, its sadly how rendering works at least you have clear case of problem, not like tweaking load order 30 times or remove one of 100 mods thats broken, just to have to remove half of them
:( understandable. I got the rest of your mods anyway, stable smooth experience. You know whats odd? I was able to get it to run VERY rarely, after a fresh install. I could load and play and all of the reshade stuff worked. After I'd leave the game though, would usually never load again. Saw the reshade log. Are there graphical advantages now mod wise? I'd love to make the game look prettier, with the gains in frames. Sorry for the bother. Thanks for such a quick response. Great modder
Apparently you dont even need to install vulkan runtime since modern vgas with updated drivers already have vulkan support. In my case, I have an 6750XT and just copied the 2 files alongside my .exe and voila, game started and everything is running smoother.
I have RivaTuner installed and the OSD is showing Vulkan is being utilized so I guess everything is fine. Thanks again SCAR, that and the PSO seems enough to me. I know you have another one with a .bat that changes things for all files but I didnt want to mess with that kind of stuff, just adding files is more my thing.
you can install thing like Benchmark tool - it will show you type of render (you can see screenshots for reference) otherwise if your game runs after installation, mod is most likely working already
If the game open with the files in pleace, it working. To compare the difference with a benchmark (or command on Steam to show FPS) can help to see and compare how the game are working. On Windows I recomend rivatuner or command at launch of the game (steam) but both, Nvidia and AMD have counters at the driver, and Linux have MangoHud. At Steam: Configs>InGame>show FPS counter (need overlay active) work too.
Hi SCARaw thanks for the update! Unfortunately it didn't work for me, the Kenshi launcher don't open while using the latest version, however the second to latest is working great for me, and I don't why, sadly. I'm on a fresh install of Windows 10 iot LTSC. Cheers and thanks a thousand times for the hard work!
Hey, this might be my fault, i used my own exports with pre-made dxgi with hope it will minimize video memory usage to prevent this annoying bug from poping for people who didn't set their pagesys there is rarely a chance hardware might simply not read some of the runtimes needed to run it, but it should not be the case i swapped the DXGI for lighter version without any funny toggles and i think it should run now
Dude i love you! Along with ur Particle System Override (PSO) my loadings now 1-10 from 10-30. i also tweaked some radius settings from 4k to 5k and changed world textrure from 500 to 1000. work wery well and smooth that i wondering is it still kenshi?xD mandatory mod, recommend this to everyone.
Is there an way to set it to open in Borderless mode? I have it set to Borderless on the launcher and checked the Kenshi.cfg file but the game still opens up in Fullscreen. Any help would be appreciated.
Ah Ok. That's why I actually I asked, the delay, so it's due to the mod itself. Oh well. The pro's well out weight the con so no biggie. I'm planing to upgrade in the next few months, that might help. Thanks! my dude.
I heard this will fix crashing issue due to getting out of virtual memory, is it true ? i have asus gtx 1660 and someone recommended this mod to solve virtual memory crash, and also i installed it and game is running, how do i know if its working ?
if your game launch at all, mod is working there are only 2 results - game refuse to launch or game launch and works i wish more people to be aware about my mods, loading time is a choice, you can chose shortest

i like close to original artstyle + Nice Texture Collection

Edit: To clarify, I have tried reinstalling reshade to vulkan, crashes the game after startup gets close to main menu.

Running on Win11 on a laptop with a mobile GTX4090.
I did install the vulkan runtime too.
I copied 2 files which were all that was in the zip to the same dir as the kenshi exe file.
Then ran Kenshi. Only DX11 shows up in the kenshi dialog and I don't see anything different.
