GTX1060 user here with maximum graphics settings. So I test it and here is the result (with TSUKI Reshade and no mods): Before launch time : 7,95s loading screen: 30,91s After launch time : 07,54s loading screen : 20,24s (average after 10 launch)
well after 5 driver reinstall i fixed problem where "kenshi' used by another profile (i just modifyed wrong line in .nip file xD) but after 3 more attempts installing clean drivers nvidia control panel just closes when i try to add kenshi.exe and by now i give up haha. great mod i guess, maybe next time when ill be triggered by eternal loading in swamp location i will finally figure out how to install this corrrectly, but not for now xD
i tried different things that i havent do before for like 1h but in the end it workerd! thanks for guiding and mod, ur mods are the best thanks dude :)
From my perspective you either use some specific Copy or are doing it on purpose game literally can't launch without CFG file, it will either be downloaded with legal copy or generated with kenshi.exe
i think its driver mismatch try reinstalling clean or updating drivers? and try again tool don't see all the profiles or your gpu didnt let it change the currently used one
After installing i started getting a weird resolution problem, where the game displays with black bars on the sides and everything is mushed together so to say. I'm running dual monitor setup with different resolutions, one 1920x1080 and the other 3840x2160
ohh no, multiple screen setup require a bit of work around in nvidia control panel, but game should return to normal once you set either in tool or in the panel to use aplication with multiple screens
Turns out i was wrong again, the mod is also causing the problem, without the mod borderless works fine, but with the game treats my 1080p screen as a 4k screen and takes up only 1/4th of the screen
Hello. I did everything according to the installation instructions. However, I always get an error when loading a profile, exactly the same as you have with the spoiler. However, it still pops up, then when I did the same thing when loading the launcher, I do not get a notification that the invidia profile has been changed. I can not understand whether the mod works in my game? Can you tell me how I could check this to find out for sure whether the profile I loaded works? My video card is nvidia gtx 1650
And also, I'll ask the author of the mod. Will all the optimization mods from you work correctly? I already use "Particle System Override (PSO)" "Kenshi Performance Fix" and I'm also thinking of trying Vulkan
generally speaking you can "feel" if the mod worked you can take a stopwatch or any widget timer and use it to meassure the load time, but since you have shrodinger installation it might be tough
imo do this:
reinstall GPU driver - select clean installation
once you restart PC twice (clean installation take double restart)
take the timer and load the game - game should load faster than before you did anything since i bet your drivers ware running for quite some time and refresher might help them
try your best again to install the mod (you can fail, its not big deal, attempt counts as doing something
take the timer again and compare
next just run around the map a bit if pauses during runs are gone or shorter, you most likely made it
as for quality or "functionality" of my mods they fucking work - you already use PSO and Performance fix, both have noticeable impact on the game themselves which you can even check in kenshi.info.log i take a lot of pride in developing mods as good as they can be (or i can make them be at the time)i always take some tests to ensure there will not be unforseen error i could spot during said tests and i always push updates when i can improve the mod, even if i have to strike the previous file with large download counter
all my mods works together and i kind of use them together
i don't use merry xmas kenshi outside of december, but mod can be installed and deleted whenever, you just have to remake hats xD
Thank you very much for answering comments under your mods and quite promptly. Thank you for these wonderful mods that have seen the light. It helps to live and play more or less normally in Kenshi while waiting for Kenshi 2, since Chris did not take on the correction of the first part. Your performance mods have really become part of the game and I am sure they have influenced the community for the better (in that players do not abandon the game because of eternal loading :D)
i just love the game i also been thru a lot of hoops during development of this mod and i understand the troubles around installation, im not the best at guiding completely new people as well as i wish i could, so i often assume person got basic nexus done, either from other game or from easier to install mods...but regardless im trying my best thank you and have fun playing
Tried to follow the guide. I have kenshi (lowercase) and Kenshi (uppercase K) in darkmode inspector. I delete kenshi_64.exe from kenshi (lowercase), proceed to do everything else in installation manual, import profile etc. launch game, no popups, no errors, ok. Game launches, all good. Decide to check nvidia control panel, just in case. open it - no kenshi. click "add", find kenshi_64.exe, try to add it - it just closes (it probably crashes?)
it didn't its just compatibility issue usually restart PC fixes it, if not you can reinstall driver and do it again xD it will click in place eventually
That's what I did - reinstalled drivers, fresh install. Then manually set everything as in screenshots you put in problem solving. for both "Kenshi" and "kenshi", just in case. Now in nvidia control panel I notice some things changed (the ones it shows me at least), so I assumed I did everything right. Kenshi launches, GPU works, loading times between zones are short, I suppose it's all good, thanks for the mod.
This is official website for Nvidia, but it might be hard to navigate Basically: you need to know specific model and series of your GPU Models:
Quadro
Geforce
RTX
GTX
Series:
funky numbers making your GPU sound and cost even more like sports cars
you can also get TI at the end for similar effect
Personally i would suggest google: Nvidia Drivers Model Serries and look for google result on Nvidia.com - it will very likely link right driver but if you feel good enough you can use website directly

So I test it and here is the result (with TSUKI Reshade and no mods):
Before
launch time : 7,95s
loading screen: 30,91s
After
launch time : 07,54s
loading screen : 20,24s
(average after 10 launch)
So yes, it's really worth it !
and for this tests :)

Edit: i found small leak about AMD performance update for OpenGL

hope its real and it will benefit kenshi
i just wanted to say its not your fault
i relay on rather problematic functions that as nvidia drivers moves on are less reliable to use
i would say, when you get new patience and strength to do it:
Would that be alright? Are there any additional changes to be made?
i also made MOAR performance mods that are easier to install
