About this mod
Want a mod to hide the Stamina Bar, or a "Blasphemous" mod that completely does away with the entire stamina mechanic, and every single notion of it!
I've got you covered right here!

"Thanks to our great Korean community, we are releasing Korean language for Kingdom Come: Deliverance together with a few small updates in a patch 1.9.6:
- Korean language pak
- update of several textures
- minor update of music"
For unknown reasons this does currently not work with the new 1.9.6 update. We'll see when I get the time to look into this matter. I'm sorry about this inconvinience.
UPDATE: Per request, I have added a download for simply hiding the Stamina bar, and not do anything else. That's what it does. No further explanation needed.
This is probably one of the most blasphemous mods around, so I can safely say it's not for everybody.
But then, not everyone likes stamina mechanics in their videogames either so... there you go.
I find that babysitting a stamina meter is very awkward (play with a controller and you'll know what I mean) but also serves no other purpose than to slow me down, force my playstyle to be more boring than it could be, and suffocate the whole experience overall. I fail to see the fun in it. I know I can't be alone, because I've seen a few mods that reduces stamina costs, increases regeneration etc. However, I wanted more... or... less, actually. So I basicly removed the whole thing, and every notion of it from the game.
Yes, I did basicly remove the entire stamina mechanic, aswell as most in-game traces of it.
This involved the following:
- BUFFS/PERKS - Naturally, some perks and buffs has been slightly reworked, while those rendered unpurposed have been removed.
- RPG_PARAMS - I've zeroed out, or otherwise altered most variables (cost, etc.) I could find tied to it. They are overridden via a custom perk.
- UI TEXTURE - The main HUD texture had to be adjusted/redesigned.
- LUA SCRIPT - A custom script will make sure no hard coded business interferes.
- LOCALIZATION - Some context sensitive localization for the english language has been overhauled.
You should litterally NOT see ANY trace of the stamina mechanic ANYWHERE.
If you feel like contributing towards this mod, then I'd be happy to recieve reports of any eventual bugs if you encounter any.
Hopefully I've managed to pack this archive correctly straight away, but if not, and you're an early adopter then the folder structure should look like this:
>>KingdomComeDeliverance/Mods/NoStaminaBar/Data/> NoStaminaBar.pak
>>KingdomComeDeliverance/Mods/NoStaminaBar/Localization/> English_xml.pak
That about wraps everything up in terms of commonalities.
Enjoy the mod, and feel free drop a comment or PM me about it if you've tried it, or have any questions!
To whom this may concern: I decided to keep this mod very focused on that one thing it exists to do, and not introduce any new changes. Let me elaborate on the forgoing bulletpoints.
- First and foremost, the buff and perks were edited/excluded with this idea in mind. Obviously there is a ton of them that tinkered with stamina. I didn't want to to make any extensive changes, so buffs and perks that dealt soley with the stamina mechanic, I've gently tucked away. With the exception of Fast Strikes, buffs and perks that also dabbles beyond the Stamina mechanic, simply had their stamina portion cut, and are still avaliable in the game. I would make a list, but I have screenshots to cover that. My main concern was not to make any additional, drastic changes anywhere. I wanted this mod to be focused on that one thing it was made to do, and little to nothing else. However, if you have any ideas here, some feedback would be great.
- The variable values edited, I found in rpg_param, and rpg_movement_type. If you notice anything wrong with these edits (within contex relative to the goal of this mod), that ideally should be changed, or should actually stay intact - please let me know. Exact naming conventions, and what developers did, and had in their mind doing so isn't always crystal clear.
- Now my skills with image editing software is unfortunately very limited, so the HUD texture provided could most likely look prettier. Again, I didn't want to change too much and create something that might end up feeling unfamiliar or alien. I wanted to have something that kept the original feel. Even if I set out to create something fancy and crazy, I probably wouldn't be able to pull it off. Any artist out there that wants to take a shot at making it better, by all means, be my guest.
- Regarding scripting, and in lua in particular - that little piece of script I did, I put it there because I noticed that there were instances where stamina was actually still being depleted, and there were instances where stamina wasn't instantly regenerated back (as intended by the changes to the rpg params). For example, taking fall damage would take away from the stamina value, and sprinting froze it's regeneration. Now, I'm not a programmer at all, I'm just a "learn-by-doing-guy", and this has definetly been a case of "monkey see monkey do". In addition to various lua websites, I've scratched my head looking at a ton of native, and modded KDC lua scipts in order to accomplish what I did. Too many to list. Getting this to work took me forever... If you spot anything wrong with the code, or something that could be improved/simplified, please tell me in detail because those things are far from obvious to me. I'd greatly appreciate it.
- And lastly, about the localization. While I did put some thought into rephrasing a couple of things here and there, I'm not a writer. I have little patience for writing, and the English language isn't my native tongue. Additionally, during this stage of modding I was very tired, and frankly quite bored by the specific task at hand. There is a ton of text about stamina. Sometimes it's not just mentioned, but discussed. I did the best I could given the circumstances. Some of it is O.K, while some felt down-right stupid. The overall result is... passable... at best. That's just the English portion of it. In addition, when it comes to any of the other languages, I am completely clueless, and... I didn't want a week-long google-translate project on my hands. However, if you find more enjoyment out of this kind of a thing and want to take a shot at any of it, or if you know other languages, your contribution would be very welcome indeed.
So, that would be all. That's all I've got!
As implied, if you have suggestions or further inquiries, post a comment or PM me. I'm all ears!
Cheers!
