Installing this mod with Vortex doesn't work as other comments have pointed out. So you have to download it manually and place the user.cfg file in the game's root directory.
If your game path is this: C:\Steam\steamapps\common\KingdomComeDeliverance\ Then the file path is this: C:\Steam\steamapps\common\KingdomComeDeliverance\user.cfg
user.cfg still not loading?
Add the command-line argument to launch options on Steam:+exec user.cfg Launch options is found in Steam Library -> right-click the game -> select Properties...
For non-Steam version append that same argument to the shortcut's target path, e.g.: "C:\Games\Kingdom Come Deliverance\Bin\Win64\KingdomCome.exe" +exec user.cfg
Or if you don't want to download the mod at all, just put the console command as argument instead, e.g.: "C:\Games\Kingdom Come Deliverance\Bin\Win64\KingdomCome.exe" +wh_pl_showfirecursor 1
Launching the game with +exec user.cfg, +wh_pl_showfirecursor 1 or any other command will be persistent as long as you don't remove those commands from the launch options. Commands set from the console, on the other hand, may reset during game session, so I would avoid that.
This doesn't work for me. Downloaded and installed on Vortex. All my other mods work except this one. I deleted all mods and only added this one and couldn't get it to work. I added +exec user.cfg to steam properties as well. Not sure if the mod is just not working or if I am doing something wrong. Probably user error though.
EDIT: I think the user.cfg file is just not loading for some reason.
I tried +r_vsync 0 +sys_maxfps 60 +wh_pl_showfirecursor 1
but I get errors on the r_vsync part. Instead I just used wh_pl_showfirecursor 1 in the command line in the game and it worked. But I have to run the command every time I restart the game. Better than nothing.

I stuck a small piece of blue tack on my screen to cover the normal dot and allow me to find the center with my bow during my first play through of this game when it was brand new and this mod didn't exist. This is a much better solution.
I'd prefer a mod that allows aiming down the shaft of the arrow as I was taught when target shooting with a bow, but this is the next best thing, and I'll take it.
Either this is or the unlimited saves mod broke my entire copy of the game and now I can't even reinstall the game anymore BC it keeps saying the local game files are corrupted.
It's literally impossible that a "your copy" of the game is completely broken if the game is stored on a local drive. Mods only effect the game directory which is, again, installed on you're local drive. If you bought the game through steam or even if you have a disc, it's just a matter of uninstalling the game, deleting the game directory folder, and reinstalling the game. If it still doesn't work, though very unlikely at the point, then yes, like others have said, try verifying files. Though at that point, you can guarantee it's not the mods fault, and you should probably contact the game dev.
You said it LOCAL GAME FILES. To access local game files, you need to go to C:/user/AppData/Local , find anything game related, and delete it. Hope this helps.

Or just use another version of the mod, found here on Nexus.
A mod that should work with Vortex installer is here: Show Reticle For Bows
