Main Files
[MAIN] Yet Another Pebbles Mod The first main file maxes out the stats (20 in Agility, Courage, Strength, and Vitality) for Pebbles, Zora's Dappled Grey (helpful to players in a certain quest), Roach, the 3 horses in the From the Ashes DLC (Argo/Shadowfax/Shadowmere), as well as Nuckelavee from the The Amorous Adventures of Bold Sir Hans Capon DLC. That's it, that's all it does, no changes to the appearance of any horse be it manes or colours. Want horse go fast for the horses I mentioned? Pick this OR the other main file if you want the horses to not have manes (see the images for a preview) but do not pick both! This main file CAN be paired with another OPTIONAL file to change the appearance of just Pebbles, scroll to read more.
[MAIN] Yet Another Pebbles Mod (Maneless) The second main file is the same as the above first main file EXCEPT that it also removes the manes from all of the mentioned horses. That's it. Pick this OR the other main file if you prefer to keep the manes on horses (see the images for a preview) but do not pick both! This main file CAN be paired with another OPTIONAL file to change the appearance of just Pebbles, scroll to read more.

what is the difference between this mod and this one? https://www.nexusmods.com/kingdomcomedeliverance/mods/1299?tab=description (make pebbles great again)
the stats are different in the images:
this from make pebbles great again:
this from this mod:
why are the stats different if these 2 mods make the same?
Can't for the life of me get this to work :( It's in my mods folder, and in my mod_order and according to my kcd.log it loads "mods/YetAnotherPebblesMod/data/levels/rataje/*.pak" I've never had any other pebbles mod work either :( But other mods works just fine? Does anyone know what I mind be doing wrong?
Game version? Steam? Latest? The full log should be: [Mod] Opening paks in mods/YetAnotherPebblesModJustPebbles/data/*.pak Pak 'mods\yetanotherpebblesmodjustpebbles\data\yetanotherpebblesmodjustpebbles.pak' is opened, root: 'data\ [Mod] 'YetAnotherPebblesModJustPebbles' supports game version '1.9.6' by wildcard '1.9.*', it will be enabled Table 'soul' is patched by 'soul__yetanotherpebblesmod', lines added: 0, modified: 7, equal: 0, time: 0.001You gone over the entire description for installation steps? You have the mod_order.txt bit in?
Something seems off in your log, as I've never seen such an output. You aren't using some mod loader or unpacking the files manually, are you? There should be a folder called "YetAnotherPebblesMod" and inside it a "Data" which has a file called "mod.manifest" and a folder which inside it has "YetAnotherPebblesMod.pak" file.
GOG, and now I'm questioning if I'm even reading the log right, but non the less my other mods work. I don't remember how to see the version in GOG, but it's 1.9 I think? I followed the steps and I manually install (+ I have all teh files you mentioned) I wonder if it's a GOG problem, I usually use steam....
It shouldn't be a GoG problem, but I was just wondering if it was some older not-up-to-date build of the game, as I've only tested on the latest (1.9.6). Did you notice the mod_order.txt file? Do you have the lines needed in there? If not, it would not load. Can you search your log file to see if it mentions anything about "Table 'soul'" by any chance? If it is not getting to that point, it is not even patching the file needed. There was an issue with an outdated mod version in the past (scroll down for discussions on that) but that issue has since been resolved so I'm not quite sure what might be the issue here. I guess one other thing is the mod folder; is it identical to "YetAnotherPebblesModJustPebbles" and "YetAnotherPebblesMod"? If you are using both files, you need both mod folders and both lines in your mod_order.txt file. If you are not changing Pebbles colour and only want the changes to apply to Pebbles, then you only need the "YetAnotherPebblesModJustPebbles" and not "YetAnotherPebblesMod" for what its worth. Also please share some more log info, as the one about "YetAnotherPebblesMod/data/levels/rataje/*.pak" seems wrong if you compare it to the log I shared.
Hi there! I recently got into KCD1 at my little brother's insistence and I was wanting to use your Pebbles mod since the other one got rid of Mutt D: Mutt is back now, but a problem I'm having is that his obedience is dropping like crazy.
I saw some saying that the Stay Cleaner Longer mod was the culprit, so I removed that and the advanced trough washing mod (just to see), but that didn't fix it. Only when I removed your Pebbles mod did his obedience not drop approx. 10/game hour.
I'm using the JustPebbles file. Honestly, I don't understand the importance of load order unless someone insists their mod needs to go at the very bottom, so maybe that is where I'm going wrong?
Any help would be appreciated & thank you for making the mod and saving my poor pup. (Now I just need to get him to listen to me :P)
Edit: I may have spoke too soon. I don't know. Something weird is going on with my Mutt, and I can't find the culprit. 😔 Edit2: I managed to fix this with Drake0713's Mutt Obey Me (PTF) mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/kingdomcomedeliverance/mods/1440
Hiya! Glad you managed to find a solution. I had the same issue in just the vanilla game, so I'd chalk it up to just how the game is. You need to feed/pet him, else it starts to drop quite rapidly yeah, especially if he gets injured, and the more commands you give the faster it can drop. It is a bit of a pain, so I kinda just let him wander off until he decides to return, but your modded solution works too. Have fun!

Interesting! I initially started playing this on PlayStation and it didn't drop nearly as quickly. Switched to PC and it was dropping like crazy. Good to know that I didn't accidentally mess up his programming with mods though.
Hey, is there any way to get Pebbles back after selling her? I would love to use this mod but cheat_set_horse id:horse_sedivka isnt working because when I whistle she doesnt come :( and cheat_teleport_horse says I dont have a horse. Not sure what to do because Id love to have pebbles again but i dont want to waste half a playthrough lol. thanks so much!
Given the way the game is set up, I don't think it'd be something as easy to do. There has to be a way I'm sure, but I'm swamped with other projects at the moment. Perhaps the modding Discord could be a place you could put in a request?
Sadly not. I just wanted to offer colour variants for the horses that you could permanently lose out on if you didn't build the Stables of Pribyslavitz since you went with the (arguably better) option. Also means less of a headache if I need to maintain all the current variants! But updating the "skin" is pretty simple, if you want to reach out via DM I am happy to point you in the right direction. BTW have you seen the "Body-Brown" variant? That is somewhat chestnut is it not? See the preview images.
My friend, thank you very much for saving my dog Mutt from the ModNuke that deleted it early(the other pebbles mod), it is now back to me, BUT, pebbles doesnt seem to have changed in any way, the mod simply doesnt work, even tho it is installed and it is at the MODS folder correctly, its even registered on the Mods Order, but nothing seems to happen with our good fella pebbles, it kept the basic stats. help ._.
I feel you, so glad Mutt is safe! Sorry to hear you're having issues though! The only thing I can think of is that it must have somehow got installed incorrectly, an extra folder maybe got added (happens if you manually extract) or perhaps a mod manager issue if not installed manually? Can you double check everything is as per the mod description page if you don't mind? I feel something must have slipped somewhere.
The path should be KingdomComeDeliverance\Mods\YetAnotherPebblesModJustPebbles and within it a Data folder, and inside of that a YetAnotherPebblesModJustPebbles.pak file. Can you see if that is the case? And you're positive YetAnotherPebblesMod and YetAnotherPebblesModJustPebbles are in the mod_order.txt file which is in the root of your Mods folder (the Mods folder not this mod's folder)?
So, i was using the JustPebbles File, the 2024 one, but now i deleted it and tried with the Newest file, Yet Another Pebbles Mod 2025, and still doesnt work :/ does it have something to do with me having another horse already? The thing is, i played the side quests first c: and got a lot of money. Bought myself a horse, and them the main quest gave me Pebbles. The quest ordered to mount it, so i did, but on the road i decided to mod it, cos it was way weaker them my current horse. (PS: the game just doesnt want to recognise it as my main horse). I closed the game, got your mod, but it still doesnt change nothing of its stats, not even the other horses. Am i doing something else wrong? i checked the files as you said, twice even, its all there :c
Edit: in the mod order, theres only YetAnotherPebblesMod17461011737281045, nothing more.
Oh, haha, you aren't using Pebbles itself?! This mod is literally meant to upgrade Pebbles, or the select few horses mentioned in the description. If you're not using Pebbles, or one of the horses mentioned, then yeah this mod will do literally nothing for you. It was meant for Pebbles who don't want to discard Pebbles but also don't want to have to deal with a much slower/less capable horse in terms of stats compared to the other horses.
Nonono, u got it wrong, im TRYING to use pebbles XD but the game doesnt accept him as my main horse, thats the only reason im not using him right now. Anyway the mod still doesnt upgrade pebbles :c
Trying to use Pebbles? I'm a bit confused there, sorry! Once you pick another horse your previous horse is essentially gone. So if you're spawning it in via console commands that might be the reason why it isn't working. If there was an issue I feel there'd be quite a few reports about it. Once you acquired Pebbles, and you use your whistle key, does it bring the horse you said you bought, or Pebbles? The easiest way to tell if the mod is working is inspecting the carry capacity, it should be more than the ~172 that Pebbles starts out with. If you're down to get it sorted I could probably assist you via a Discord call or something; just send me a DM and we could make a plan to get your Pebbles back to full glory!
I have the same issue, did everything by the instruction, double checked, but Pebbles's stats just didn't change. I use this version of the mod: YetAnotherPebblesModJustPebbles. Oh, and I'm playing on Royal edition, maybe this is the reason?
I have the royal edition as well, it's working fine here. I really can't say why it wouldn't be working for you without knowing more. Do you have YetAnotherPebblesModJustPebbles listed in your mod_order.txt file? Can you check if the mod is getting loaded by opening your kcd.log file in the game's root directory and searching for JustPebbles and find the line that says; [Mod] Opening paks in mods/YetAnotherPebblesModJustPebbles/data/*.pak Pak 'mods\yetanotherpebblesmodjustpebbles\data\yetanotherpebblesmodjustpebbles.pak' is opened, root: 'data\'Please let me know if you see any information regarding this. If not then most likely the mod was not installed correctly.
In kcd.log I have those lines.[Mod] Opening paks in mods/YetAnotherPebblesModJustPebbles/data/*.pakPak 'mods\yetanotherpebblesmodjustpebbles\data\yetanotherpebblesmodjustpebbles.pak' is opened, root: 'data\[Mod] 'YetAnotherPebblesModJustPebbles' supports game version '1.9.6' by wildcard '1.9.*', it will be enabledSo I don't know really =)
Yeah, that checks out! Seems to be loaded then, so only other thing I can think of is that perhaps you are being confused by what to expect, like some other people had a few posts down? Can you confirm what the carrying capacity is? Pebbles should also be noticeably faster when riding. If neither is true, then the only other logical explanation is that you have a mod conflict; another mod that is editing the same file. Can you please do me a favour and disable all other mods (move them out of the Mods folder to somewhere else entirely temporarily) and then check and see if there is a change? I'd love to get to the bottom of this and assist you!
Thank you for your replies, I really appreciate your involvement =)! I don't have any other mod, just this one. Pebbles stats are: speed - 28, capacity - 172 (I have 4 bad saddle so it gives me 272 in total), courage - 8, stamina - 210.
As you can see Pebbles is at 76 speed with 648 carrying capacity. I know sometimes the stats don't show the same when inspecting the horse versus when viewing it in the tab. And this is of course with utilising the noble horse bridle, military horseshoes, and noble saddle bags to achieve these values. Without the actual gear you will not see a change. I very much doubt the version of the game matters, since they should handle mod loading all the same, but on the off chance; what platform is yours on CyanogenFox?
Also could you both have a look at your kcd.log file and see if this line shows up for you? Table 'soul' is patched by 'soul__yetanotherpebblesmod', lines added: 0, modified: 7, equal: 0, time: 0.001
CyanogenFox that's correct! What version of the game is listed on the main menu? Are you installing via Vortex (mod manager) or manually? I did a bit of searching and it turns out that those who struggled selected all the mods in Vortex and then clicked on the "Reinstall" button that apparently solved it for them after deployment. Could be that the virtual file was not copied across so the game reads the manifest and the folder but doesn't actually verify that the file is actually present which would explain why there was no "patched" line mention. Please give that a try and let me know? Alternatively if it still doesn't work, feel free to reach out to me via DM as I'd love to get to the bottom of this if it ends up being a recurring issues for others.
Kirov1986 you're a legend! Your comment helped me to look through every single variant of JustPebbles, and what I found was that the base (default) JustPebbles was missing all the extra columns, and I had not picked that up since all recolour variants would have used the base and I was testing with JustPebblesBodyBlack (the one I was personally using) but they weren't affected since they had all the columns already.
No wonder it was so hit and miss with reports, as most downloaders would get the full version, or one of the recolour variants. Nice find! I'll be putting up a patch for JustPebbles (default) now that fixes this issue. That should fix it for CyanogenFox however does not explain it for ImNotCrazy44 who has the full base version.
UPDATE: Seems all the correct changes were in the source file, but the archive I made did not contain those changes. I repackaged the mod file and reuploaded it; please give that a try and let me know if that solves the issue specific to JustPebbles (default) version?
So I managed to get it to work and found it was not an issue with the mod, but possibly an issue with Vortex. I had tried installing some other mods and found I couldn't get any to work. I'm still not sure why as it looks like things were deploying listed that they would be enabled, but wouldn't show once I opened the game. Once I installed the mod manually, it worked perfectly fine. Thank you! Now I can keep Pebbles forever!
ImNotCrazy44 thanks for returning with an update! And I'm really glad to hear you got it working! That's what I had suspected, and why the game would show it loads the folder (because the manifest is read) but the actual changes aren't applied since the patch file is not actually deployed. Hopefully this ends up helping anyone else who stumbles across the mod. Have fun on your adventures with Pebbles!
Hey. Thank you for your hard work. Big fan of not losing my dog. I am an overthinker and I am so bad with written directions. I don't understand this part of the install instructions (yellow text)
Step 1) You're going to need to create a mods folder inside the game's install folder if one doesn't already exist.
Step 2) Download the latest version of this mod and extract the archive contents to your mods folder as per step 1.
Step 3) Within your mods folder create a new .txt file called mod_order.txt if one does not already exist.
Step 4) Open the new/existing mod_order.txt file and add the following (one per line) after any non-PTF mod: YetAnotherPebblesMod YetAnotherPebblesModJustPebbles
So I have a lot of mods installed. Am I supposed to do something with those mods and put something for them in the .txt file, or is mod_order.txt ONLY for your mods (pebbles as well as the not just pebbles)? I don't care about pebbles being another color, I just want the pebbles and friends mod.
Thank you for reading and again, thank you SO much for this mod!
Hiya! No worries at all and glad you stopped! So the "mod_order.txt" file is the way the game knows what mods to load. You need to be doing that for each mod you have installed. You basically just need to ensure that each folder in the "Mods" folder has an entry in the text file, one per line. So for example you just downloaded the base version of this mod so just add "YetAnotherPebblesMod" to that file. If the file doesn't exist, create an empty text file in your mods folder (the root folder), name it "mod_order.txt", and add the mod folder name to it.
So yeah, to recap; the mod_order.txt file is for all mods you use, each mod folder (the name of the folder) should be in that file, one per line. That is how the game knows what mod to load/what is valid etc. Let me know if that makes sense and if you've managed to get things working on your end? Happy to assist further until you get it sorted, Pebbles after all is most important!
Is it possible to release a version where Pegasus, Kelpie, Sleipnir, Epona and Bucephalus are upgraded as well? Also, is there any way to merge the main file and the optional file so that Pebbles and friends are upgraded + Pebbles having the same colour as Nuckelavee?
Sadly if I go down that rabbit hole we'll end up with so many variants! I just wanted to cover the DLCs as those were more sought-after/could become an issue if people didn't make a certain choice at a certain village-building place. As for your second question, unless I am mistaken, wouldn't you just grabbing the main file and the optional "Just Pebbles (Body-Brown)" file achieve what you want? Read their descriptions just to make sure. Let me know?
I did try using the Main File with Just Pebbles (Body-Brown), but it seems that the other DLC horses such as Shadowmere does not have the 89-93 speed (due to tack equipped weight), but rather, the yhave 42 speed instead. Other attributes are the same as Pebbles' though.
Yeah I covered this in an earlier post, what you're seeing is the base value, there is no way to set the speed to max, instead this mod uncaps the speed stat to allow for it to reach the theoretical max but that requires you to actually equip all the relevant pieces of gear as well as having the relevant perks. So once you've fully kitted out your chosen horse (one of the one's covered in this mod) it'll be as fast as the fastest horse.
I see. Time to saddle up on Shadowmere. Also, is there a way to set NuckeLavee as my horse? I tried to use Console Command using [cheat_find_horses] & [cheat_set_horse] but it says that NuckeLavee is unavailable. My guess is that the horse model/npc has not been spawned into the world and as such, cannot be assigned as Henry's steed.
I understand that KCD 2 just came out recently, but I was wonderin' why Pebbles capacity isn't 700 like Warhorse Jenda's is without gear?
Edit: My apologies it may be because I have some horsemanship already the only traits I don't have are racehorse, Rider on the storm and Dread steed. XD
Wait, you're telling me this is working in KCD2?! That was not the intention, haha! I didn't even realise mods would be compatible across the two games, but then again the game looks pretty similar albeit with better graphics and whatnot, so it'd make sense they reused the same engine with just some upgrades!

Also could you both have a look at your kcd.log file and see if this line shows up for you?
Table 'soul' is patched by 'soul__yetanotherpebblesmod', lines added: 0, modified: 7, equal: 0, time: 0.001
YetAnotherPebblesModJustPebbles
->
No line "table soul is patched", no changes
YetAnotherPebblesMod
YetAnotherPebblesModJustPebbles
->
Line is in log, but still no changes
YetAnotherPebblesMod
->
Line is there, changes are applied
No wonder it was so hit and miss with reports, as most downloaders would get the full version, or one of the recolour variants. Nice find! I'll be putting up a patch for JustPebbles (default) now that fixes this issue. That should fix it for CyanogenFox however does not explain it for ImNotCrazy44 who has the full base version.
UPDATE: Seems all the correct changes were in the source file, but the archive I made did not contain those changes. I repackaged the mod file and reuploaded it; please give that a try and let me know if that solves the issue specific to JustPebbles (default) version?
Step 1) You're going to need to create a mods folder inside the game's install folder if one doesn't already exist.
Step 2) Download the latest version of this mod and extract the archive contents to your mods folder as per step 1.
Step 3) Within your mods folder create a new .txt file called mod_order.txt if one does not already exist.
Step 4) Open the new/existing mod_order.txt file and add the following (one per line) after any non-PTF mod:
YetAnotherPebblesMod
YetAnotherPebblesModJustPebbles
So I have a lot of mods installed. Am I supposed to do something with those mods and put something for them in the .txt file, or is mod_order.txt ONLY for your mods (pebbles as well as the not just pebbles)?
I don't care about pebbles being another color, I just want the pebbles and friends mod.
Thank you for reading and again, thank you SO much for this mod!
Edit: My apologies it may be because I have some horsemanship already the only traits I don't have are racehorse, Rider on the storm and Dread steed. XD
