1) download the mod 2) go to your "KingdomComeDeliverance" game folder (mine is SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/KingdomComeDeliverance) 3) Open or Create a folder named "Mods" 4) Create a folder named "slp" and open it 5) Create a folder named "data" and open it 6) Open the mod you downloaded and drag the "zzz_tyd_SLP.pak?" file into the folder you just created 7) Rename "zzz_tyd_SLP.pak?" to "SLP.pak" 8) Go back into the "Mods/slp" folder (you should see the "data" folder) 9) Right click in the folder, Click "New" -> "New Text Document" and name the text file "mod.manifest" 10) Open that file with notepad, and copy the contents below into it <kcd_mod> <info>

Fixes the Compass

<version>1.9.6</version> <created_on>10/4/2021</created_on> </info> </kcd_mod> ?11) Save it, make sure it's named correctly 12) Done, enjoy!
I did it as you described but it still doesn`t work. I`m an it engineering in training and so my question ist: Do you men Notepad++? Or do you just mean notepad as a normal windows editor feature?
Generally, you can use both notepad++ (which I personally would recommend) or the normal notepad. Notepad++ simply is "coding friendlier". Functionally, it doesn't make a difference for this file, I think.
@Zonsa: Make sure that in folder view options you have 'Hide extensions for known file types' unticked so you're definitely overwriting the text filetype and not just saving it as mod.manifest.txt
I created the mod.manifest file in the mods\slp folder, containing exactly the text in this post. However, the lock picking in the game is unchanged. Is there something else that has to be done to activate the mod? I'm using Vortex for my other KCD mods, so I don't know if that affects this mod.
I don't know why I can't 'kudos' this. These instructions work to get the mod installed and operational. I was able to follow them without much trouble at all.
The mod itself is useless for most people without this post detailing how to install the mod. We'd never even know if it's a good mod or not.
That said, I still can't pick the locks. It's gamebreaking for me. I absolutely loathe the mini game, and have no idea what it wants.
It works in today's versoon, here are the instructions:
1) download the mod 2) go to your "KingdomComeDeliverance" game folder (mine is SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/KingdomComeDeliverance) 3) Open (Create if you do not have one) a folder named "Mods" 4) Create a folder named "slp" and open it (You are now in .../Mods/slp/) 5) Create a folder named "data" and open it (You are now in .../Mods/slp/data) 6) Open the mod you downloaded and drag the "zzz_tyd_SLP.pak?" file into the folder 'data' you just opened 7) Rename "zzz_tyd_SLP.pak?" to "SLP.pak" 8) Go back into the "Mods/slp" folder 9) Right click in the folder, Click "New" -> "New Text Document" and name the text file "mod.manifest" 10) Open that file with notepad, and copy the contents below into it <kcd_mod> <info>

Fixes the Compass

<version>1.9.6</version> <created_on>10/4/2021</created_on> </info> </kcd_mod> ?11) Save it, make sure it's named correctly (Make sure to unhide common extensions so the file is not a .txt file) 12) Done, enjoy!
mod works, I just cant seem to figure how its easier, its just a different background, trying to rotate the ball with a mouse is still a pain.
The mod doesn't do anything with the mini-game, only the background. And that helps you visualizes where the "spot" need to be during the turning of the lock.

No surprises there.
