I don't see any reason why you can't these two mods. I'd say they're compatible already. If not, this optimisation mod seems to simply add settings that weren't available within the game, but these very settings seem to be accessible via the game's cfg files, as stated in the mod's description. That said, you could just configure your game via cfg files and thus drop the mod.

I'd actually love to see the opposite. Make Save & Quit the only option, similar to Subnautica's Hardcore mode. You can still save and quit to return to the game at any point, but if you die, your save is no longer there. Perma-death.

You can basically play like this in hardcore mode - by selling all your savior schnapps - then your only option to save is via save&quit.

This actually is a good mod. The entire game is supposed to be "if you do something, it sticks with ya forever". Kinda like real life.

The "exit" is more or less disabled, not outright deleted. Unless you die or exit the game without overriding it, then you can just reload it again.

This disables the way you can just save-scum through the game and prevents ya from leaving directly.

I get the notion of it being a QoL feature, but it's rather overpowered, since you need to use a alcoholic drink to save or sleep somewhere...

We need a mod that actually deletes the exit save instead of just disabling it, because even this mod is kinda problematic if you need to leave.

I dont know if you understand how "save & quit" works in this game.
An save created with this funktion will be deleated right after loading it the next time you play the game!
So its not a risk redution "yust load again if you messed up" funktion, its an "i need a break and continue later" funktion.
    Not more , not less.

This savegame won't get deleted. In some situations it is hidden, somehow. But you're definitelly able to access this savegame again in certain situations, like restarting the game, if you died or via load game, if you have loaded another savegame in the meanwhile. It will get overwritten (or deleted - don't know) as soon as you use this save & quit function once more. That's how it works, actually - at least on PC with version 1.3.3.

Yes, the reason is basically that you have still a save in case the game would crash - which it could, for example with just 8GB of RAM it can happen, that a game's memory request - of like 4GB at times - cannot be served, because some other background task is using memory concurrently. This happened to me a couple of times, when steam updated some other games while I was playing. So i had to shut down the game task immediately - and the former save&quit was still accessible. IMO this is a safety measure to keep the old save&quit.

You were able to work with your task manager while your computer ran out of memory? And even Save&Quit was working? Well... that's... neat. :D

Well, save&quit is made for people, who have other responsibilities in life, which could eventually come up unexpected and then they have to quit pretty much immediately - so this helpful for all, who have kids for example - you know, disaster can strike at any given moment and then this save&quit is a real benefit. Otherwise, who wants to cheat will do it anyway - so no real reason to remove this feature.

So... in case of a disaster, like you're kids hurt themselves or burn the house or something, you first save & quit the game? :D

its better to have more option than less option. whether u use it or not, its all depend on you. 1 thing for sure, i didnt realize "save and quit" feature doesnt require savior schaps. i use SS feature when im decided to quit playing. its just faster that way. but when im in the middle of quest or will doing some shady action, i always save. better save than sorry

Thank you!! Been waiting for this ever since the update came out. I can understand people needing to quit immediately because of real life situations, but for me the save & quit option was annoyingly immersion breaking. I loved the risk of getting into hairy situations in-game at the drop of a hat and paying for my mistakes if I hadn't saved for awhile. Put much more desperation into my fights at bandit camps haha. I Couldn't understand most of the whiners on this issue.
    1. So you needed a mod to remove a feature that you're not forced to use, in order to not use it?

And immersion breaking? Perhaps for the sake of immersion, you'd like the entire pause function and menu removed? Maybe you'd prefer if you couldn't save at all?

I really don't get this. :D Why does this mod make that many people ... don't know! What are you? Jealous? Angry? Troll-ish? Whatever it might be, don't be that way. This mod was made for you, too! <3 It's actually making the game more exciting, challenging and immersive.

      @LordBartleby: You are welcome! :)
    3. My comment wasn't directed towards the mod so I don't know why you would assume I have a problem with it. To be clear, I have no problem with this mod or any other mod or those who would like to use them. It's their game, and what they do with it has no impact on me and they should be able to play how they want just like I can play how I want.

That said, the reasoning this person gave made no sense and, for some reason, me pointing that out offended you in some way. It was not my intention to offend you or this mod, but I couldn't understand how the feature was immersion breaking if the menu itself and or the ability to save period wasn't equally immersion breaking.

Perhaps I could have expressed this in a different way, but I'm uncertain if this would have made any difference in your interpretation.

EDIT: And to be clear, I appreciate all mods whether I would use them or not. This mod is no exception even though it wasn't made for me. Personally, this doesn't make things more or less challenging for me. One, because I have no problem not using the feature and two, not being able to save when I want doesn't increase the challenge for me nor have I felt more excitement when I couldn't save.

Regardless, I am thankful to you and appreciate your efforts as I know this mod is helpful to others. Thank you.

That's too kindly. However, I don't feel offended and there is no need for you to be thankful. Especially since this mod isn't actually helpful to others. It's just a little fun mod. I just don't understand the fuss about this topic and why people get here to stir things up. This makes me believe that some people may use this feature more often than they want to, but at the same time don't want to miss this feature as it's very handy, what makes them jealous for others who actually use this mod to avoid using this feature. Don't meant to offend you! Might be the same curiosity as yours, but the other way around. So, maybe I could have expressed my first reply differently as well, but I doubt that this would have made any difference.
