All my mods will clip a tiny bit with hoods until the Blender Toolkit developer can fix the blend shapes not importing or exporting. The developers use Maya, which doesn't have this problem, however it costs a lot of money and is a lot less intuitive than Blender. As soon as this issue is solved, I will fix all of my mods but until then I've done as much as I can to reduce clipping with Hoods.
Just thought i would throw this out there, this mod is insanely cool with the visors down in dialogue and cutscenes mod definitely give it a try overall sick mod
The chain aventail on mine is very lightly colored and I can't seem to make it dark like yours in the screenshot, even when using the same coif as you did. (I saw in another comment it was Brunswick's and the Broad battle Coif)
The cloth covering is historical, it's sometimes called a vrysoun, a textile layer over the mailaventail. Like Jupons, an exterior layer of padded armor, mostly for drip. I still prefer the exposed chainmail look, and your edit has a much better fit. (no giant gap between the aventail and the chin) Great job.
Thank you! I'm very aware it's historical, it's just too small and like you said the fit isn't great, though it's made that way to reduce clipping with beards.
@yeetatron, you don't get it. the aventail in the game isn't even attached properly to the outside of the helmet, it's literally represented as a mail coif worn inside the helmet which is completely wrong.
@parsniping True, the original doesn't even look attached at all, ngl I missed the massive gap between the helmet and the aventail. This game swings back and forth from pretty good to pretty bad representations of armor, not that the first game didn't suffer from the same or even worse issues.
It's historical, but in-game they are extremely saggy and flimsy. It doesn't look like there's a mail aventail below it at all. It kinda looks like rubber at best lol So these mods are huge improvements, especially we're not even given the option to wear a decent Aventail with this helmet.
You good sir, deserve at least a minor title of nobility! Will you do the noble bascinet perchance? I always loved that style of bascinet visor, but it's a shame they have this weird """covered Aventail""" glued to them
Great mod! Does this affect modded helmets that use the nuremberg model/variants of the nuremberg added by mods? No idea how you got the coif-aventail thing to work, but it's an awesome feature.
I'm totally not gonna pretend I know how to understand modderspeak (especially KCD2 terms), but hopefully we'll get some kind of standardised way to patch stuff together. Like if the Nuremberg bascinet from the Kobyla Arms and Armour mod could get this new aventail. But, again, great work and keep it up! Hope to see on the workshop soon too.
So if I used this and I have the black leather Nuremberg with the shiny red cloth the cloth is gone and it's just chainmail but the chainmail details alter based on the coif worn like your example pics with the badges still appearing? I think I have broad battle coif all black ATM so if I wear that id just have a little black strip around the edge I take it?
Yes exactly, the leather on the actual helmet will match the variant, and the gambeson under the chainmail along with the badge will match the coif you have equipped.
