I made no changes to how the game detects cleanliness. I only lowered the cool-down to how often people comment on your bad odor from 15 to 5 seconds. And I made smells cause a slight increase in "angriness", which is the game's alert system. My guess is it's another mod preventing you from becoming clean, and because my mod ups the NPC annoyance from filthy Henry, you can expect constant abuse from NPCs.
However, I'll double check some of my changes, just in case.
Or maybe have them follow Henry around? What I wouldn’t give for a basic companion mod that lets you command NPCs, let them follow you and access their inventory to equip items.
Unfortunately, that sorta thing is beyond my skill level in modding. I'm sure a "companion mod" is going to eventually come out with the mod tools accessible to anyone.
Sounds great. What I still miss in the game: If I look like a beggar, people reacting unfriendly. If I wear clothes with more "nobility factor", they reacting more friendly... I really appreciate that because of the realism. "Clothes make the man". But now I have 30k Groschen, wearing armor and clothes worth a fortune, did a lot of quests for the nobility, but the NPCs still treat me like before. I miss an increase of respect, like if people complain while bumping in me or getting in the way of my horse, ... or merchants being unfriendly. I would really like a "Treat me with respect mod", if something like this is even possible. With this mod, I guess you are one of the few modders knowing the switches and variables of NPC-Behavior the best.
There are numerous factions within the maps that have reputation relationship levels - it's a 0-1 scale, zero being hostile and one being very friendly. I believe this scale is probably the biggest determining factor in how people treat Henry in their 'one-liner' comments.
However, I don't know if it's possible to make people react positively to being hit with a horse.
Great mod, though I'd personally run it with my tweak where friendly NPCs don't respawn at all. Essential NPCs needed for the story to progress can't die anyway, so it won't break anything. Also love how clean your tweaks are, as you've included the vanilla values on the right of every line.
Thanks! And, I dunno if I'll keep those respawn parameters since they're rather peripheral to the mod's primary intent. Including vanilla values is a hard learned lesson for me since I've messed up values by skipping decimal places and not having vanilla as a reference, well, makes it hard to figure out where I went wrong.

Super cool mod just what I needed :)
