Yes, I could do that. But honestly, I only installed the mod as a precaution. I don't have any problems with the camera. I guess this is also tied to fps and the game runs pretty fluently for me, mostly at or above 100fps. I also turned the mouse sensitivity down ingame, which is something I learned from other games. In most games, the standard sensitivy is much too high for moder gaming mice and this alone can make for a jittery camera. An extreme example of that was Hellblade II.
So I don't really need the mod. But for all those who do I'm glad you're trying to fix it, thank you! :)
Well...after reaching the refugee camp, which is a bit more demanding (plus using a HDR mod which also lowers performance) my fps tumble below 90 more often than I'd like and I find myself needing this mod after all. :D High fps can compensate for laggy camera, but in my experience it needs to stay at a stead 100 to 120fps for that.
Just a quick question: You did state that the smoothing can be temporarily disabled via console and I know that the command itself is i_mouse_smooth, but what is the actual value to disable it? Your mods value is 30, so that's what I'd use to re-enable it...is it 0 to disable it?
I took some inspiration from the comment section of this mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/kingdomcomedeliverance2/mods/55
The easiest solution to simply toggle Mouse Smoothing on and off goes like this:
create two txt files in the game directory, name them for instance smoothingON.txt and smoothingOFF.txt
change file type to cfg for both --> smoothingON.cfg and smoothingOFF.cfg
smoothingON.cfg should contain: i_mouse_smooth=30
smoothingOFF.cfg should contain:i_mouse_smooth=0
(if you haven't already, create a user.txt in the game directory, change file type to cfg --> user.cfg)
write or add to the user.cfg bind f10 exec mousesmoothingON.cfg bind f11 exec mousesmoothingOFF.cfg
(if you haven't already, add command line argument in steam or game shortcut: +exec user.cfg)
USAGE: Ingame, press F10 (or the button you set) to enable mouse smoothing. Press F11 to disable it. Easy as p...erfect bane potion! :D
You can change the buttons around of course, but it seems only f1 to f12 (must be written lowercase) work. Since F12 is my photomode-key I've chosen F10 and F11 to enable and disable mouse smoothing. Works like a charm.
I wonder if I could double-use F12...as in ingame set to photomode but also in the user.cfg f12 set to execute the cfg file that disabled mouse smoothing...
Anyway...once set up, this is a very convenient way to switch it off and back on again without the need to type it every time or copy & paste it from somewhere.
The following also has the same effect and is adjustable using in game console (open console, type i_mouse_smooth=1 for example)
Find the setting you like then just add it to your system.cfg.
CVar: i_mouse_smooth Recommended to be placed in system.cfg Set mouse smoothing value, also if 0 (disabled) there will be a simple average between the old and the actual input. (1.0 = very very smooth, 30 = almost instant) Default is 0.0
I changed the default value to 30. Does feel a bit snappier. Not sure what actual value 1 is set too. You can get smoothing over more frames with lower values. Try 2 for fun and you will see lol. Anything under 10 feels very bad to me.

So...yeah, it kinda makes fotomode unusable.

nevertheless the mod is great!
Does that behavior go away if you disable the mod? It could be a vanilla bug as well.
