Here is a reticle mod that would pair well with your keep cooked mod, allows for custom positioning of the reticle so far more reliable than the mods that force the built in reticle.
Using the games built-in reticle will not help much because each ranged weapon/ranged weapon type as well as ammo used can cause your aim to change. There are also perks that will cause your aim to change.
Due to this its best to have a way to customize your reticles position to fine tune your aiming. Also, since most people use multiple ranged weapons there needs to be a way to switch between different saved presets.
I could not find any mods on here that could do that so I released one. You can make and save 3 reticles with custom on-screen positioning, color and size. The reticles also work while in contests/competitions. Hope this helps, Enjoy!
My father is a strict bow hunter, so growing up I had to learn the bow early on. Using a bow in this game is a joke. By your standards it's already a sin I am using mouse/keyboard to aim a bow because they did not have that back then either, not like creating a reticle mod will do further harm.
The lord be praised, hopefully I can atone for my sins.
@Lifeless999 that is such an idiotic take lmfao, in real life we still don't have reticles tattooed into our eyes, so literally any game you play with a reticle, is "unrealistic" by your standards.
@BearMcFreeman if anyone has an idiotic take it's you. We don't need crosshairs tattooed on our eyes, because they are on whatever optics you're using for you weapon system. He's also not talking about "any game" being unrealistic. He's talking about KCD2, a game whose appeal to a lot of people is the immersion, which in his opinion is hurt by having a crosshair in the middle of the screen. You don't know what his standards are or have any reason to assume they would be the same for each game he plays. That's dumb. You also can't just be putting quotes around words someone never said and just pretend like they did. Your comment is nothing but logical fallacies.
Fantastic mod! I hunt with crossbows in real life, never once have I waited until I happened upon an animal to cock and load a bolt. This really bothered me in game; thanks again!
I'm not getting the mod to work. I looked to see if there were any other mods that modify weapon_class, but there aren't. If anyone has solved the same problem, I would appreciate your help.
I was misunderstanding what the mod was about. The mod works fine. My understanding of mod behavior: once loaded, no need to reload after that. Actual mod behavior: after loading, it does not unload when you put it in inventory or use another weapon (vanila: unloaded) Thanks for the comments!

Custom Reticles (Dial in reticle position for each ranged weapon)

Also, a serious question: Is it called "discharge" (accidental or not) with crossbows as it is with firearms, or is there another term for it?
