The dmg debuff doesn't seem to be working properly for me. Dmg is listed at around 2k ish. I tried to modify the rat value in the pack but it's not doing anything. No change even if i delete the rat modifier entirely.
    It's this line right?
    buff_params="aps*10,rat*0.15"

After a quick edit for personal preferences, this has been my favorite solution to the wimpy arrow dilemma. Cheers!

    [Redacted Peasant Question]

Edit: Nvm, figured out how the debuff works, lol. A .4 ratio seems to be a good sweet spot for taking them down without having to empty an entire quiver into em. Nixing the multiplier entirely just made everything a two shot kill. Thanks again for all of your awesome mods!

Version 1.0.1 doesn't seem to work properly.
I'm currently testing it without any other mods modifying ranged weapons/ammo and the range is significantly decreased when using the master fletcher 10x mod.
Enemies have to be really close to you in order to hit them at all or else the arrow wont hit. Without the mod, hits are possible at much greater distances.

Let me know if you need additional info to look into it.

I just tested, and the arrow flies instantly to the target, almost hitscan. :)

In your mod.manifest, I recommend removing these lines, so this mod may keep working with future game updates, like today's patch 1.2:

Just to confirm, your mod file has rat*0.1?

Would love a version of this mod with 3 to 3.5 times faster arrows as an inbetween of the other two.
I seem to not be able to do it myself so would be appreciated.
Would also be nice if you made the arrows do maybe 15% more damage or so than vanilla since the vanilla bow gameplay feels like you do less damage than in the first game.

This mod already buffs the arrow damage via the perk. I can upload a 3x version if you haven't figured out how to do it yourself.

Please do! 2x feels still bit too short, 5x quite a bit too far. 3x should be just right :)

So I'm not sure what exactly your Rebalanced Arrow Flight mod did regarding damage, but since removing that and adding this in it's place, NPCs have gone from one-shotting me (or very close to it) with standard crossbows and crude bolts, to doing less damage to my stamina than me swinging a short sword. This is while wearing the best pieces of armor in every slot at level 25, so I'm not sure where the damage should sit by default at this point in the game. I understand the intention of moving it to a perk was for it to only affect the player, but it seems like it's a HUGE difference in damage to the point of it feeling like something is off.

I've tried adding some increased damage modifiers from your Rebalanced Ammo mod, but they still only seem to tickle me with the 1.5-2.0x damage options, and I'm trying to avoid buffing my own damage even further.

I'll test it out more against NPCs with better quality ranged weapons/ammo to see if they can actually hurt me. I'm hoping I can find a good balance that doesn't result in me being able to one-shot everyone wearing full plate and also allow them to do enough damage to me to matter in a fight.

Regardless, thank you for all of your work on the various mods you've put out.

Rebalanced Arrow Flight shouldn't have changed anyone's damage, as I only changed the arrow script. People complained about the NPCs having the changes too, so I found a workaround. If you really want to test, you can use the script version of the other mod, alongside the perk version of this mod.

Yeah, this is really odd. I don't doubt that I may have changed something else between changing out Rebalanced Arrow Flight for this, especially since I tried what you suggested and enemy damage is still absolutely pathetic. I'm gonna mess around with removing all projectile-based mods and see if I can figure it out. I certainly don't want them 1-shotting me in the best armor with mid-tier crossbows like I saw before, but I'd also prefer they did SOME damage to me. It's likely some conflict between other mods that I'm just not noticing.

I noticed the reduced arrow/bolt damage options you added to your Rebalanced Ammo mod for use with this. Does that affect everyone's damage or just Henry's?

I think my best bet for getting my desired projectile damage balance would be to increase overall arrow/bolt damage for everyone, but then somehow reduce the damage for Henry, specifically. Assuming the optional versions in the your other mod affect everyone, would you please consider making a version of this mod that reduces Henry's arrow/bolt damage along with the projectile speed buff?

Ideally, I'd like to get to a point where decent quality arrows/bolts/ranged weapons take at least a good chunk out of my stamina when wearing full plate, where I can generally one-shot or mortally wound unarmed targets with arrows and bolts, but not also one-shot full-plate wearing enemies (unless I hit an exposed area). I'm not expecting you to try to figure out the balancing that or anything like that, but if you feel up to making a couple of reduced damage Master Fletcher options, that would go a long way and be greatly appreciated.

Are you comfortable modifying the mods yourself? You could buff the bolts in Rebalanced Ammo and then the `rat` debuff in this mod could be even smaller to make his ranged damage even less.

Maybe? I understand that you can change the file extension to .zip and edit the values, but I'm not sure I understand the correct way to repack the files. Is it as simple as renaming it again, or do you need to use specific software to repack it correctly?

Okay, so I believe I did everything correctly. I was able to make the changes to the rat perk and repack the data successfully. However, I don't actually see any difference in the displayed numbers for my ranged weapons or ammo. Do you know if it's supposed to visibly change or if it's a nerf that you can't actually see when viewing your equipment?

I believe the numbers shown in the menu are just what's in the item xml.

Hmm. I can't tell if it's actually doing anything or not to be honest. The positive aspect of the perk is certainly working, but my damage feels about the same. I've confirmed that upping the damage of arrows in general makes enemies actually able to hurt me, so that's good. Honestly, I think my best bet is just going to be to remove the Surprise Attack perk from myself, as enemies often seem to just lose track of me for no reason if I get far enough away from them, despite not having a perk to improve stealth and wearing full plate armor. So that leads to me getting 50% more damage on a regular basis when I really shouldn't be.

Anyhow, thank you again for your input and assistance.

If you properly adjust the rat debuff you should definitely deal much less damage. But I'm glad you're finding a working solution!

I used your Rebalanced Arrow Flight PTF mod when you released it in order to fix the abyssmal arrow drop in the game but it affected the NPC's as well.

If I were to just want no arrow drop am I correct to only download Rebalanced Master Fletcher (PTF) 10x version and not install any of the Rebalanced Arrow Flight (PTF) version?

That's correct. But you can use both the script mod and this perk mod together.

However, the script mod also affects NPCs. If you still want NPCs to win in Archery tournaments, I recommend only this mod.
