Hello! New patch 1.2.4 has been released, the Engine.pak file has become a little bigger (242MB). I am really looking forward to your fix when you have time 😍😍😍
I don't know if this mod could help me. Since the game was updated to 1.2, every time it rains I get a flickering on the screen, like a light flickering on the textures of the ground, objects, and buildings. It's very annoying. Could this mod help?
That most likely has something to do with the occlusion areas in the game world, this mod will not help fix that problem. I'm looking into creating an ancillary mod via the new official modding suite that changes the occlusion areas, however it may take time.
What would "occlusion areas" be? This is driving me crazy. Because it didn't happen to me before the 1.2 update. Am I not the only one with this problem? Could it be some graphical configuration or Nvidia drivers?
Occlusive areas for particle effects is defined via in game map parameters. To put it simply, they are outlined zones where spawning rain particle effects is not allowed.
No, the low opacity version retains the original textures. The reason that I haven't uploaded a "low opacity high resolution" version is because the current high resolution version already has very similar luminance to the low opacity version.
Even with your mod(easy- high definition) when it was storming at night + night hawk potion in use I didnt saw almost anything in game, so had to use "no drops" version(easy-no drops). There is nothing more of bad luck if you need to do quest at night and it starts storming.
I had the first version (manual) installed no issue.. for some reason i cannot get this one to work. I've done exactly how i did last time and it just crashes on startup. I just have been using the old .pak and it's working which is fine for now.
I've tried the method for the manual version as stated in the mod description, and simple drag-and-drop with 7zip. The former crashed the game on startup, the latter turned the whole screen white when raining.
What worked for me was to use KCD PAK Builder, with the latest manual high res file.
Something in the most recent update seems to be causing a crash with the original Manual install version for some people. I am investigating the cause for the Manual installation method no longer consistently working in this game version.

That's exactly what I did, as stated in the mod description and that crashed the game.
If the intended method worked for you, good. The issue, however, was rectified with the said pak builder so saying it isn't necessary doesn't really help anyone.
There is no Engine.pak file in the EASY version. If you upload an uncompressed file, it would be great if you mentioned it somewhere and descreibed what to do with that.
The "Easy" file is not compressed as Engine.pak - But you can open the original Engine.pak with WinRAR e.g. and then copy the content from the mod into that archive (overwriting the original files). Then save the new archive with WinRAR and everything should be working.
Or you can wait, because I think CorsMods will update/correct this mod soon.
I’m trying to install the (EASY) Rain Fix - High Resolution version, but there is no file to replace in my game directory. However, the description says it should replace the engine.pak file, which is confusing.
Apologies for the file mix up. I neglected to remember to compress the high resolution version for the Easy install. I have since updated the [EASY] High Resolution version with a properly compressed .pak

Is there a mod that makes rain more visible? I feel like it's really hard to see
nexus making me comment twice smhI'm trying the high res file btw

you need to extract the pak file and compress it again using THIS, not winrar not 7zip but THIS and rename it to .pak, the pak builder isnt necessary
