Want a more difficult game? This is it. Everything you need to make the game a difficult, but fair challenge. Inspired by Devil May Cry's Dante Must Die difficulty and the Yakuza Kiwami 2 - Prepare to Die Edition I made.

Joryu Must Die Change log:

General changes:

- Improved Hard difficulty (x2 normal difficulty damage).
- All Bosses and most mini-bosses have more health and damage (individually tweaked).
- Street encounters damage and health scale with each chapter.
- Readjusted skills cost and values (mostly decreased cost to reduce grind).
- Decreased health and damage upgrade values.
- A bit more heat generated when attacking and extreme heat mode passive drain decreased.
- Rebalanced some coliseum allies to be of higher ranks and stats (more viable team combinations).

- Improved Coliseum matches "Four Kings, Four Fights" and "Minamida Grand Prix":
- Bosses have more hp, more damage and the time requirements for S, A, B ranks have been increased to compensate.
- Robot Ryuji boss now uses the unarmed moveset and starts in extreme heat mode.

- Replaced Tournament 1, Tournament 2 and Timed Match with actually challenging boss fights. Now you get to fight Yuki Tsuruno (replaces Hammerhead), Kosei Shishido (replaces Zhang Wei), Homare Nishitani (replaces Cook) and Masaharu Kaito (replaces Ninja) in the Coliseum.
- Added Patriarch Aotsuki (and his stolen drones) to the Coliseum silver fighters pool (replaces the Brave).
- Watase and Kiryu lookalikes use their extreme heat modes in the coliseum.
- Sugiura (uses Jin Kuwana moveset) and Higashi join the coliseum as opponents.
- Coliseum Satake of Chains now uses Lost Judgment Soma moveset.

These opponents have reasonably high hp and damage, so either bring good gear or peak skills. Time requirements for ranks, money and fans gained increased.


Note: Gear has been untouched so mods like Gaiden Restored Items are compatible and also to allow each player to further customize difficulty (if you feel that the game is still too easy, don't use gear or healing items).


How to install:

1. Install Ryu Mod Manager (RMM).
2. Run RyuModManager.exe once to generate the mods folder.
3. Place the contents of the archive following the folder structure of RMM (LikeADragonGaiden -> runtime -> media -> mods -> Joryu Must Die).
4. Run RyuModManagerGUI.exe, then click "Save".

Please consider combat improvement mods when playing with Joryu Must Die. (I added an optional moveset file, that I personally use, which mixes moves from the mods mentioned above and from Lost Judgment, which are tailored to my personal preferences. Most of the work has been done by those talented modders and RGG, I only customized it, so please consider this a temporary alternative. I will not update this file unless it's for my specific taste and I will also take the file down if either creators feel like it's wrong. Thank you for understanding.)


Agent Style:

- Crane Style moves are accessible by pressing L2 + ☐. All ☐ rush combos and △ finishers available and can be followed up with a ◯ Snake Style throw at the end of every △ finisher or △,△ finisher of every string.
- Extreme Heat mode has new △ combos, Agent Style has the Crane ExHeat combo on L2 + △,△,△,△.
Crane/Snake leapfrog attacks ( run towards target to leap, then  ☐/△/◯ )
- Crane Style True Crane Beast Slayer (R1 + △ just before an enemy attack)
- Improved animation speed and flow.
- Twisting Counter ( R1 + ◯ just before an enemy attack)
Snake parry with L1 just before an enemy attack.
- Crane Sky Dancer (L1 + X ) and all it's ☐/△/◯ attacks.
- When damaged, press X for an evading backflip, then ◯ to follow-up with a wire snatch.
- When damaged, press ◯ for a Snake uppercut to throw. (bosses may block it)
- Removed guard bounce for all Agent, Crane and Snake attacks.


Yakuza Style:

Tiger Style moves are accessible by pressing L2 + ☐. All ☐ rush combos and △ finishers available and can be followed up with a ◯ Flux Fissure at the end of every △ finisher or △,△ finisher of every string.
- Extreme Heat mode has new △ combos, Yakuza Style has the Tiger △,△,△,△ ExHeat combo on L2 + △,△,△,△.
- Kaito's Tank Style △ finishers can be performed after each ☐ charged attack.
- Beast/Tank Style throws on R1+ X + ◯ (sway grabs).
Tiger Style leapfrog attacks ( run towards target to leap, then  ☐/△/◯ )
- Improved animation speed and flow.
- Komaki parry ( R1 + ◯ just before an enemy attack)
- Quad finisher on ☐+☐+☐+☐+△+△+△+△
- Dragon of Dojima finishing holds, except ☐+☐+☐+△+◯ which is Brawler Snatching Strike.
- Repel with L1 just before an enemy attack
- Boxer Style moves on L1 guard. L1 + X in place for weaving, with follow-ups using ☐/△/◯ (with timed weaving variants just before enemy attacks). L1 + X + any direction + ☐+☐+☐ combos and L1 + X +any direction + △. L1 + △ and L1 + ☐ Boxer guard combos.
- Changed charged △ attack in ExHeat mode to start the Boxer Style △,△,△,△ ExHeat combo, with rev attacks and the heat action blended in.
- Removed guard bounce for all Yakuza, Tiger and Boxer attacks.
