I was quite surprised by the sheer quality of this. The best abno mod I've seen so far actually. An ingenious way to use sacrifice mechanic, the creator had to tinker with it so it would result in an actual work order without the "sacrificial panic" state and instakill effect, the creator had to do this manually, existing sacrifice order is entirely different mechanically, the only thing that's the same is the wheel of fun actually. And holy cow is the wheel fun now. You can actually PLAY AROUND the SACRIFICE mechanic, one of the most sad-ass random bullshit/unutilesed thing in Lobotomy. On fetus it feels like random execution because random screwed you over, on Censored it is never utilised ever: it's mostly either no drop in counter or a drop straight to 0. Here the sacrifice mechanic can be played around and is included in the abnormality routine(not a "get me out of this situation" card, untill the 0 counter anyway but that's on you and NOT NECESSARY WHATSOEVER, you can raise the counter without dealimg with random bs and just suppressing the mini-ordeal)
Also a brand new mechanic with qlipoth meltdown level. I absolutely adore this one too. Essentially it's a timer, that's made so you'll be punished for not paying attention to an abno THAT'S LITERALLY COUNTING DOWN DAYS TILL THE DOOMSDAY, infinity-brain design here. There are 2 abnos in base game with the "I have a timer for your demise" mechanic, both are notorious for somehow inducing more anxiety in the game that consists of it in the first place. They are so incredibly scary, annoying and needy because their timers are... well... timers. Hokma speeding you up? Pay twice the attention. In the middle of an Arbiter fight on day 49 and watching out for the blue gatorade fairies? Pay twice the attention. They constantly need your attention wether you speedrun the day or play cautiously/try to farm boxes on specific abnos. This one is way more comfortable to deal with honestly. It'll still mess you up if you forget about it, but YOU are in control of the timer now, it doesn't interrupt you during action moments, but it's still a timer and a attention sinkhole, just with way more control in your hands.
The gear is darn fabulous. Ego looks amazing, just like the abno itself, the details, scribbles, the animation of the disc, a lot of labour went into this even apart from the amazing mechanics.
I think this is what a mod should be, exploring new mechanics while improving on the old ones and not forgetting about the overall theme of the game, with the good visuals being a cherry on top. Am astonished, will fight to the death if asked to uninstall the mod. Can't buy you a coffee, creator, but in this moment I really wish my country had access to the worldwide money transaction system.
EDIT HERE I didn't see the ego weapon in action, okay, screw me, should've seen the whole mod before writing this. The on-kill mechanic is cool, but the use of SMILE MOVESET is even better. We all love special attacks on our ego weapons, it's just the additional little thing that moves ego from a glorified regret to something memorable, interesting. The unique death animations are also very cool, the changing peons the calendar summons as it awakens is a great touch too. Well, just like the animations of the awakened altar itself, especially the wave effect and the arms it has. This is what happens when mod makers have the time and the will to produce something they will completely enjoy. I've also seen that you made the false apple, didn't encounter it yet, but am looking forward to it.
