Mafia III Radio Restored
Features:
This mod simply restores the full soundtrack for the in game radio.
Requirements:
Mafia III Definitve Edition
Why You May Want It:
When Mafia 3 updated to version 1.1 (Definitive Edition) a slight change was made to the radio.global pck file. The change being that the current version is lacking one single song: I Got You (I Feel Good) by James Brown. (I have personally confirmed that [As of 06/18/24] EVERY other song besides this one remains in the game despite what other misinformation I have seen online.) This is a very groovy song that you will likely want in your game. This mod allows you to have both the full soundtrack from 1.09 as well as the game ownership bonus content from playing on version 1.10 (Vito Jacket, Tommy Suit, Shubert Six taxi, and Shubert Frigade.) The best of both worlds!
How It Works:
This mod simply imports the radio package from version 1.09 when the song would still play. The radio package alone will not allow it to play, despite restoring the song in the files. However, when combined with the ingame.sds file from version 1.09 the song can once again trigger to play in game on WVCE 1105 as intended.
I have personally tested it and can confirm that when these files are used to replace the current ones that I Got You (I Feel Good) will trigger just fine as well as EVERY other song still playing as it should.
Installation:
Step 1. - Open 1. Music Restorations Files folder.
Step 2.- Open Mafia III folder.
Step 3. - Move both the edit folder and sds_retail folder into Mafia III game directory. Replace and write into as it asks.
Step 4. Enjoy.
Extra: Folder 2. Backup Original Files contains the files you will be replacing in this case that you would like to once again remove the song. Simply follow the steps 1-3 again with folder 2 instead of folder 1 to uninstall this mod.
Why this exists:
The rest of the Mafia series receives love in the form of soundtrack restoration mods but I could not find any such mods for Mafia III. Complicating things even more when I searched I found all kinds of conflicting information about whether any songs were removed at all as well as information stating a bunch of songs were missing that simply were not. Desperate to be able to play the full series in the most complete way possible I decided to figure out exactly what was actually missing and how to get it back. A few days (and hours of in-game radio listening) I was able to not only figure out what would and would not play in the curent version 1.10 but also figure out how to get the radio files switched and working. (personally tested and CONFIRMED.) If you are like me and having a game with something even as small as a single song missing from it drives you crazy then please enjoy.
