On the Epic Games version, i installed the Ancestral Outfit Workaround_Quest pak first and it did NOT unlock the suit (although i had already done the quest). So i removed that and instead used the Ancestral Outfit Workaround pak and that DID work (appeared as a mission reward after sleeping).
BTW for those on Epic the way you install it is by opening Epic Games, click on Library, click on the 3 dots on the far right of the game, click Manage, go down to Installation and click the folder icon. It should open the game folder in windows explorer. For example, the directory is shown as below:
The quest file is stated to only work if you haven't finished the quest, which is why it's not the main file since most people who use this mod have already finished the quest.
For people who haven't completed the quest, I've made an optional mod that adds the suit and passive to the quest rewards.

You've made a lot of great mods for this game, several that I use for QoL. Thank you! Regarding the Workaround mod specifically: Could this METHOD of delivering the Ancestral outfit in this way be applied by other modders in future mods as a way to add new outfits (rather than overwriting existing outfits?) You seem super experienced and I'm still a noob at this, (I made the Pose Deluxe Mod)I wonder if you've thought of a way that might work for the community.
Also, I see you also have a file that fixes the actual quest reward so that it rewards the armor properly. I wanted to pick your brain on whether you've figured out the root cause of what if anything triggers the bug in the first place and whether that can potentially be avoided for those playing on consoles (since they cannot make use of mods). I've noticed other bugs along the grand questline that may be connected or probably just red herrings...such as the duplicate ward scene with Dr. Strange behind Shaw's church, or the fact that according to Firaxis, the chest is not even supposed to be opened until after all mysteries have been solved (which doesn't seem to remedy the issue for those who wait to open the chest later). It seems like there was supposed to be some kind of controls put in place to not be able to open the chest until later, like some sort of checklist (figuratively speaking) of things that needed to be done before that chest can be opened and I wonder if there's a way to see what those flags are, whether they get raised at the appropriate time, or otherwise whether they somehow reset when they're not supposed to be. I am very interested in trying to slueth my way to an answer on whether there is a non-mod-based work-around for console players.
It's been a while since I did this mod, so my memory may fail me here, but I do think I looked at the file before and after the patch and found no difference, so something else broke it. For the quest variant of this mod, I think I had to insert the suit and passive as rewards for completing the quests, but that didn't seem necessary before the last patch. Maybe the issue in the scripts? I have no idea how to access those.
I've seen the 'official solution' of doing all the mysteries first and I'm pretty sure that's not true at all. The whole thing is entirely tied to Lilith's garden. Take that with a grain of salt, though, of course, since I may be remembering wrong. I'm sorry I wasn't much help :(

If you've already done the Lilith's Garden mystery quest, you need to get the main file instead. Just remember to uninstall it ASAP as soon as you get the suit and passive.
Sounds like the mod is still active. What does your Pak folder look like? If it's really uninstalled, try skipping more than a day and see what the mission table looks like.
I vaguely remember reading a reddit comment in passing that it's possible to use mods for the EPIC version of the game. I don't think that person explained exactly how, though.
I got the armor thank you very much, I coudn't get it because of the damn bug, any idea if the mod can unlock the achievement? I don't know if it's suppose to or not
It's been a while, but I do remember that I started to mod my game before the first DLC came out, and I have all the achievements in the game, so I'm pretty sure mods don't interfere with them.
Thought it worked perfect at first, but even after deleting the mod I'm still getting general missions that have the outfit and passive as rewards. Trying not to get stuck being unable to finish without the duplication, any tips?
Use the optional version of my C.H.E.E.S.E. Room mod to make the day pass without doing missions. If the workaround mod is actually uninstalled, you should eventually get missions that don't reward duplicates of the suit and passive, and then they'll eventually stop appearing altogether.

Yup, the optional one is compatible with my General Mission Rewards Overhaul mod, but will also only work for playthroughs where you haven't completed the garden mystery yet, so your plan to use both for a new playthrough should work perfectly :)
hey pal! steam says ive done the mission (i got the achievement that says so) so i installed the optional mod but i boot up the game and i still aint got it. deleted the mod, tried the other one cus i thought maybe steam thinks ive done it but the game doesnt, but it dont appear as mission rewards either (i loaded a nighttime save so that they'd appear next day so its not that im doing it on the wrong day,) any ideas? have i missed something im meant to do for the optional file other than have the mission completed already and the mod in the pak folder? thanks for taking the time to make the mod :)
It looks like you actually installed the quest version of the mod that requires you to not have the garden quest not solved yet. You'll need the main file to have the suit and passive show up in general missions. Don't forget to uninstall the mod ASAP once you get them to prevent dupes :)
