    Yeah, trying to install, my Reshade.ini only contains this:

    [GENERAL]
    EffectSearchPaths=.\reshade-shaders\Shaders
    PreprocessorDefinitions=RESHADE_DEPTH_LINEARIZATION_FAR_PLANE=1000.0,RESHADE_DEPTH_INPUT_IS_UPSIDE_DOWN=0,RESHADE_DEPTH_INPUT_IS_REVERSED=0,RESHADE_DEPTH_INPUT_IS_LOGARITHMIC=0
    TextureSearchPaths=.\reshade-shaders\Textures

    No PreserveBuffer etc. etc.

    What'd I do wrong?

    Edit: Completed the rest of the installation, now my Reshade.ini looks like this:

    [GENERAL]
    CurrentPresetPath=C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Mass Effect 3\Binaries\Win32\Near_Perfection-ME3.ini
    EffectSearchPaths=.\reshade-shaders\Shaders
    PerformanceMode=1
    PreprocessorDefinitions=RESHADE_DEPTH_LINEARIZATION_FAR_PLANE=1000.0,RESHADE_DEPTH_INPUT_IS_UPSIDE_DOWN=0,RESHADE_DEPTH_INPUT_IS_REVERSED=0,RESHADE_DEPTH_INPUT_IS_LOGARITHMIC=0
    ScreenshotPath=
    ShowClock=0
    ShowFPS=0
    TextureSearchPaths=.\reshade-shaders\Textures
    TutorialProgress=4

    Sorry if it's a hastle, I'm not the best at this whole mods thing. And in-game, pressing Home does not bring up any menu.

    I got it (mostly) working and it looks nice; thank you for posting this.

    Unfortunately, MXAO, SSR, and Reflective Bump Mapping all, to various degrees, introduce visual artifacts that are especially noticeable during gameplay cutscenes.They manifest around the edges of objects. Are there any particular installation mistakes you can think of that would cause this?

      Hello @Sesentesis,
      Indeed I confirm it, since the new version of reshade the management of the buffer has changed a little bit what causes during certain cutscene defects (briefly) with MXAO, it is not a problem of installation if all the effects are well visible during the game.

      For a better visual experience I think we'll have to wait for the remasters
      Cheers and good game !

    Hii,
    I have been looking for a right reshade for quite a long time now. Judging by pics your fits perfectly as it's not over the top like 90% of other reshade. Gonna try it out, although i got few questions, hopefully you are still around on nexus sometimes to answer them ;)
    1. The installation process is quite diffrent from other reshades, could you explain how the unistallation looks like?
    2. MXAO is what intrigues me the most in this mod. I have been looking for a way to enable ambient occlusion in the game for a long time, and everyone i asked said the ME3 does not support any form of ao (nvidia driver ao is bugged and don't count). So, is it really working and add contact shadows? It's hard to notice it on the pictures.

    I just notice something on pics. Does your mod add some sort of real time reflections? I notice something like that on pictures from omega. Anyway, this looks awesome, gonna try it out right away after going back from work :D.

    EDIT
    ,,Always in the game folder open the file named "ReShade.ini" and change the line "preserveDepthBuffer=0" to "preserveDepthBuffer=1""
    I opened the ini but i don't have that line ;/. All i have is :
    [GENERAL]
    CurrentPresetPath=C:\Moje\Games\Mass Effect 3\Binaries\Win32\Near_Perfection-ME3.ini
    EffectSearchPaths=.\reshade-shaders\Shaders,.\reshade-shaders\Shaders\qUINT
    PerformanceMode=1
    PreprocessorDefinitions=RESHADE_DEPTH_LINEARIZATION_FAR_PLANE=1000.0,RESHADE_DEPTH_INPUT_IS_UPSIDE_DOWN=0,RESHADE_DEPTH_INPUT_IS_REVERSED=0,RESHADE_DEPTH_INPUT_IS_LOGARITHMIC=0
    ScreenshotPath=
    ShowClock=0
    ShowFPS=0
    TextureSearchPaths=.\reshade-shaders\Textures
    TutorialProgress=4

    Even tho i did not changed that line the reshade is working, althought there are some problems compiling some shaders. DisplayDepth.fx failed to compile. But most effects are working correctly. Although i am worried about performance, with 1060 6gb i had to bring down my resolution from 2k to 1080p. Does the fps hit suppose to be that big?

      @EtRnitY :
      Glad to see that everything works and your error concerning "DisplayDepth.fx" is strange I think you didn't delete the reshades_shader folder but you overwrote it with mine because my mod doesn't use this .fx at all.

      And it's also strange (if you have perfectly follow all my intallation steps) that you don't have the line in the reshade.ini because otherwise shaders like mxao and ssr wouldn't work you should have :
      [DX9_BUFFER_DETECTION]
      DisableINTZ=0
      PreserveDepthBuffer=1
      PreserveDepthBufferIndex=0
      UseAspectRatioHeuristics=1

      If you dont see it go to the reshade panel like in the screenshot : https://www.zupimages.net/up/20/37/aheh.png

      Concerning the uninstallation it is exactly like a typical reshade uninstallation, i just gave you the reshade shaders folder ready to go

      For my part I lose between 2/3 fps in 1080p and 4/6 fps in 2k with the mods like alot and many others installed I did it on my gtx1060 8Go. I could not answer you currently because I am now on a RTX 1060

      Cheers and good game !

      Hey
      You are right, i overwrote the exiting folder, by bad :p
      And i found the proper line after staring a game once with a reshade, everything is  fine :p
      Although the performance...damm i need to make some tweaking. Right now i disabled every effect but mxao and lowered my resolution to 1080p to keep 60 fps. Do you think the bloom effect could affect the performance noticibly to cost me any frames?
      Also, can i ask at what mxao quality this preset is running on?
      Anyway, gonna do installation again, properly this time :D. But to be sure i would like to ask one last thing, when i installed the shader using directx 10,11,12 option the reshade did not runned with the game at all, it only works with directx9. Is there any difference between these options?

      @EtRnitY :
      Indeed there is a big difference the api used is not at all the same. in fact at the time MassEffec 3 was released it was running under dx9 then with the evolution of physx it was ported to a newer version but in reality the game still runs under DX9 with a bridge to the new functionality of the next DX version via physx legacy, that's why Reshade needs to run under DX9 and not DX10 or 11.
      And no the effects ingame are not demanding at all in performance so let them on .

      Cheers and good game dude

    For people having the mouse cursor not locked outside the pause menu whenever Reshade is installed, just deactivate Origin Overlay for mass effect 3 in the launcher :
    Origin launcher > Library > Mass Effect 3 > Right Clic - Game settings > Uncheck "Activate origin in Mass Effect 3. "
    I have two monitors and the mouse cursor wouldn't stop going to the other screen just by moving the camera while playing... Even on full screen... It also fixes the camera and cursor moving around when Reshade overlay menu is on.

    Nice reshade, I updated from 4.3.
    But when I'm just replacing the shader folder like you said LEVELS, SSR, and MXAO don't appear on the reshade menu.
    For LEVELS shader missing, I think you put LUT instead (suggestion). But I fixed it by taking the one from the Sweetfx shaders.
    For SSR and MXAO I think you can put qUINT shaders directly in the shaders folder and remove the qUINT folder. It worked for me after putting MXAO and SSR directly in the shader folder.
    An other way to make everything to work is to activate and download shaders from both sweetfx and qUINT during installation and overwrite with your shaders (not replace).
    Also, there is no "preserveDepthBuffer=0" in the reshade.ini anymore.
    Cheers.

      Hello @EtRnitY
      Indeed, by default ReShade doesn't add the EffectSearchPaths in reshade.ini for the quINT folder, so I've reuploaded a corrected version of the Reshade-shaders folder .
      Concerning the "lut.fx" I currently leave this effect because I created a "lut.png" for this game but I'm still testing it before putting it online.
      As for the "preserveDepthBuffer=0" is is still present in the actual last version of ReShade (4.7.0) you need to have :

      [DX9_BUFFER_DETECTION]
      DisableINTZ=0
      PreserveDepthBuffer=1
      PreserveDepthBufferIndex=0
      UseAspectRatioHeuristics=1

      Inside the the Reshade.ini file where the .exe of the game is located .
      https://www.zupimages.net/up/20/37/aheh.png

      Cheers and good game !

    Hey,
    there seems to be a problem with a combination of all the files you uploaded.
    I installed your Reshade version (4.3), your preset and overwrote all textures and shaders with yours, but the MXAO and Ambient Light shaders are giving me red errors. MXAO gives me "pixel size" errors and ambient light is giving me "screen size buffer" errors.
    This error isn't happening if I don't use your custom shaders. Specifically, the problem seems to be your ReShade.fxh file.
    That one is giving me the errors.

      Hello @NegativeIon
      Hello and thank you for your feedback. I've recently been told that the preset doesn't work anymore which is strange because it was working before and I haven't changed anything since then.
      So I'm going to reinstall the game and redo the preset from zero to get rid of this problem.

      I will try to update on the latest version of reshade and the latest version of qUINT.

      Cheers mate !

      Awesome! After trying out all the reshades on this site, I found yours to be the best because it strikes that perfect balance between keeping
      the original feeling/intention intact and enhancing the picture to make it more vivid and immersive, so you updating it to the newest reshade is great news! :)
      Keep up the good work, mate! <3

      Hello @Suomynona93 :
      Strange indeed for my part I just re-tested the insallation of the mod and everything works perfectly.

      Can you confirm me that:
      - Your reshade is correctly installed ?
      - Reshade is relly launch ? (test home key to open the settings panel).
      - Have you put the .ini preset file in the good folder ?
      - Have you follow all the steps in the description of this mod ?
      - You use the version of ReShade used for this mod? >> https://www.nexusmods.com/masseffect3/mods/787?tab=files
      - You have replaced your reshade-shaders folder by the one provided by this mod ?>> https://www.nexusmods.com/masseffect3/mods/787?tab=files
      - Do you have the file qUINT_ssr.fx in your reshade-shaders/shaders folder?

      If your answers to my questions above are all positive, then I would ask you to test to replace yourself the shaders files "qUINT_....." in the folder "reshade-shaders/shaders" by those available via the Quint GitHub source (mcfly) :

      1 : Download the shaders : https://github.com/martymcmodding/qUINT/archive/master.zip
      2 : Extract the files.
      3 : Copy all the files present in the "Shaders" folder you just extracted then paste them in your "reshade-shaders/shaders" folder (replace the already existing files).

      Tell me if it works on your side, hope it help !
      Cheers !

      followed all steps, used the new shaders, everything is correct. but SSR still isn´t working, MXAO aswell.
      changed the d3d9.dll to d3d11.dll, as advised, but reshade didn´t load at all.

      The option was called "Preserve depth buffer from being cleared" but that solved it for me! Big thanks to you! But now the new problem is that quint mxao makes everything very dark, and nothing like in the pictures.

      Hmm... try looking for an option called: "DEPTHBUFFER_IS_REVERSED", You can access it via reshade in-game interface ("Edit global preprocessor definitons" located underneath shader list in "Home" tab ) or directly in reshade.ini. If it's set to 1 change it to 0. If this method fails, try to fiddle with either the AO amount or Sample Radius (quint_MXAO.fx).
