About Offering Help! I'm so happy to see the amount of people who have reached out and offered to help with creating voiced lines to add into the game!! but here's what I need the most help with. (College is also still kicking my ass)
Me and another have decided against the use of AI, as we feared that the mod may be taken down if the original actors would not be happy with the use of their voice, and we wanted to support other creators! We have decided to hire an actor to voice the lines for Shepard.
Someone has helped me figure out how to replace audio in Mass Effect 2! We are nearing the end with adding the voice lines to Mass Effect 2! Once we are finished with adding audio into the second game and it has been uploaded to the mod page, we will be able to move onto LE3! Right now we are still in the process for gathering every line needed for the third game, (It's already a lengthy list). Any help to gather the needed remaining lines and later on help add them into the game would be great!
I am doing this for free, and out of passion for Mass Effect. But also understand I am still in college, but of course I will not just drop the work on whoever offers to help and I want to be involved in the process, it's just that I have a hard time understanding the process for replacing audio for both LE2 and LE3.
If you would like to offer help, contact me on discord bugbuns I am more likely to respond sooner!
First off, thank you for the mod, I was so disappointed that I couldn't have a gay romance with Garrus on my first playthrough that I started the game over as a female character. lol
Secondly, I'm doing my second playthrough now using this mod and although it worked to initiate the romance with Garrus, the new voice lines for Sheppard aren't playing for some reason.
I played through the game normally from LE1 up until getting to initiate the romance now in LE2. I played through the game, recruited him second, after Mordin, got through his loyalty mission - talked him out of killing Sidonis too incase that's relevant somehow - and experienced no issues as far as that all goes. All up until Sheppard is supposed to speak, his mouth won't even move, he just sits there nodding his head, tightlipped, as subtitles appear at the bottom of the screen as if he is talking - it's weird...
Although I've used the save editor, I only used it for things like padding out my paragon points, getting extra skill points, customizing my powers, and also perfecting my Sheppard's appearance. I have not, however, used it to tweak anything that should have directly affected the mod though. Also, all of my mods are installed using the ME3TweaksModManager.
Other potential conflicts I can think of are that I am using other mods such as, mods that I can envision conflicting for whatever reason: - Sheploo Appearance Consistency - Sheploo Animation Replacer - ERS (This one installed after your mod, is that what's causing it maybe? Saw people saying it's not compatible and other saying that it is as long as it's installed in a certain way so I'm unsure.)
I am not sure what other information I could provide that would be useful, I'll post this over in the bugs panel too so that you can track it, just figured if an answer is found to fixing the problem and it's in the posts here that someone in the future can find the fix easier then too. I also made sure I have the correct version of the mod installed and I do, the one without voice hasn't even been downloaded so that can't be the issue.
for me I had to disable the optional flirting mod in order for the voice lines to trigger correctly, so if you have that it could have something to do with it!
Does Garrus have new lines or does he still refer to you as he would with femshep?? bc i'd *like* to use this but it'd take the fun out if Garrus still refers to me with feminine pronouns and names
Hey, any chance you'd be willing to have a version of the mod where Garrus still refers to broshep by female pronouns? Always kind of liked being referred to by female pronouns despite my actual gender. I'd totally let Garrus call me his woman. Lol
Out of curiosity, could you link a voice reference with the Garrus/BroShep romance scene? I want to try out this mod but I would like to know how well the VA did with a Mark Meer/BroShep impression <3
Thank you for your time and hope to enjoy this mod in the near future!
EDIT: Also, is this compatible with "Extended Romance Scenes"?
@cam568 As far as I noticed it isn't actually compatible with ERS because the transition to the extended romance scene itself is missing in the sequence of the cabin scene with Garrus(BioD_EndGm1_110ROMGarrus.pcc). At least it's like this on my end.
@mothbugbuns You may want to consider contacting Scottina123 for permissions to create a compatibility patch in order to make this mod compatible with the extended romance scene.
Reason being that this mod mounts higher than Extended Romance Scenes. It uses 5128 as the mount priority while yours uses 5491. I figured those values out through the Mount Editor of Legendary Explorer.
That way your version of BioD_EndGm1_110ROMGarrus.pcc takes priority over the one from ERS which is missing the transition for the extended romance scene.
I did my own research and for testing purposes imported Scottina's version of BioD_EndGm1_110ROMGarrus.pcc into your mod files on my end and the extended romance scene played as a result.
In case you want to support functionality with Extended Romance Scenes, you may want to consider importing your changes of BioD_EndGm1_110ROMGarrus.pcc into the ERS-Version once you receive permission from Scottina.
If this is something you want to do, of course. It's your decision. Just felt like pointing it out :)
EDIT: I saw in your documentation that you already plan to provide compatibility. Perhaps what I said will assist you in your efforts :)
Hello everyone! I would like to provide an update for anyone reading this thread now trying to figure out if these mods are compatible.
First off, thank you to @Dimenarius for investigating the compatibility issues between these mods, which will be important for my explanation later. That said, the experience they described a few months ago was not accurate to my experience.
In spite of knowing the risks, I decided to use both mods in my Mass Effect 2 LE playthrough and everything worked correctly for me (other than Shepard having the wrong body for 3 seconds in the shower). After the regular ending for Garrus's endgame romance scene happened, the extended romance scene played where expected.
I was very happy about this, but also very confused, as I had not modified the custom DLC files in any way and theoretically nothing should have triggered. Because of this, I decided to check the mount values for each DLC myself, and I found out why it worked. In my investigation, version 2.0 of this mod had a mount value of 5491, just as Dimenarius said. But version 1.3 of Extended Romance Scenes had a mount value of 8700, not 5128. I'm not exactly sure what happened here, as v1.3 was uploaded in February, before Dimenarius made their comment. Maybe they were using an old version?
Whatever the case, the tl;dr is this: If you were wondering if this mod was compatible with Extended Romance Scenes, it worked for me personally and should be compatible! If you experience something to the contrary, please be sure to note your experience in this thread so troubleshooting may continue.
Hi, I just wanted to say that I really enjoy your mod. This pairing has been my headcannon forever and it's really awesome to finally be able to actully play it with voiceacting!
I haven't finished ME2 yet, but the VA is close enough that the experience isn't jarring. Looking foreward to eventually play the voiced ME3 version. Once you guys get around to finishing that one. Thanks again!
Downloaded the mod on a whim when discovered that romance routes were gender-restricted. Thank you for allowing me to experience my first fictional character crush. "There's no Shepard without Vakarian."
Is the audio not playing at all? Or is there a specific part of the game where audio isn't present? The old version of the mod is also still up, is there a possibility your downloaded the version without audio?
I ask again, do you have the correct version of the mod installed? I'm not sure why else the audio would not be playing since it seems to work for everyone else

ME3 however, I still need to work on that

And yes, last I checked, this is compatible with Extended Romance Scenes
Awesome, if I install this mod then sounds like I got something to look forward too >:3
EDIT: Listened to the video, voice seems a bit static-y but I can hear some similarities to BroShep in it :)

I currently have him in my squad and loyal
You should also be able to use a save editor if you did already talk to him
