My only nitpick is that for the image labeled as "Earth texture replacement for UNC: Rogue VI," The "Night Side" of Earth should be relatively as dark as space save for some city lights, and there should be no stars in the sky.
Complete oversight on the night-side of the Earth, thanks for letting me know about that! I'll work on fixing it soon.
I can't really do much about the stars as they're one set of textures used by the game across different scenes/settings and replacing one replaces others. I did experiment with changing out the starfield skybox completely for the opening prologue but it just wasn't really working out in a way that looked good. Changing the Normandy cockpit starfield is easy because it's only used just in space between missions, but the others are a can of wormfood.
I wish I could show this to my younger sister. She absolutely adores the planets and all things outer space. But, she's not old enough to be shown Mass Effect, so I'll have to remember this for her. Nonetheless, the high-res pictures look super nice! Downloaded and endorsed.
I recommend Unique Moons to match this mod and Planet Pictures :)
If you can, would you be willing to do the same for LE2 and 3 for consistency sake?
Thanks so much - maybe someday she'll get to enjoy it!
Good call on shouting out Unique Moons, though I can't seem to find Galaxy Pictures weirdly enough. Is that something included with LE1DP/Community patch?
Lastly, I would definitely look at doing this for LE2/LE3 if it wasn't for the fact that we don't land on Luna at all in either game, and most cutscenes are .bnk files, meaning they can't be modified. I could maybe see about changing the actual planet textures for scanning, though I'm not sure how the system works for either game and it might break things unintentionally. We'll see what happens!
I meant Planet Pictures, oops! I had been looking at Unique Moons' optional Galaxy Map Pictures texture file when I was typing it and accidentally said Galaxy Pictures.
If you can't do it for LE2/3, it's alright. LE1 needs more love anyways. Most mods are made for LE2/3 haha
Hi, really fantastic mod! The opening to ME1 is so iconic, and this really adds to it!
If you are able to look into ME3, one place to start could be the background during the final Crucible section with Anderson. I'm not sure if that falls under .bnk files, but it was always strange how low-res the planet seems during the dialogue sequences at the end when Shepard/Anderson have their conversation (not the space cutscenes intersecting though)
I definitely feel the same way - can't lie but The Expanse heavily inspired me to make this mod more than anything, the way it depicted Sol as well as space travel made me make a few soundtrack-replacement videos for select scenes from the trilogy. Sadly doing a total soundtrack replacement for all three games seems impossible as Nexus is very strict about copyrighted material, so this mod is as close as we'll get to something Expanse inspired (as well as Zeb's Space Jumpsuit)
