Thank you so much for the mod. I had issues with the game, so I couldn’t reach the synthesis ending where Shepard survives. I was left with a choice between destruction, which made me feel sorry for EDI and geth, or control, where I didn’t want to become Saren 2.0. I installed the mod and loaded a save where Shepard is already heading to the beacon in the finale—there were no problems at all. The only thing was that near Anderson’s memorial, Ashley had hair as tall as Marge Simpson’s, but that might be because of all the hairstyle mods. Thanks again, I love happy endings in games!
On the next release could you please fix some of the awkward lines that made Bioware remove the entire Anderson scene?
Like Shepard answering Anderson's dying compliment with "Huh-huh" (lmao) and Anderson saying to a visibly kneecapped Shepard sitting right next to him "Come here (?), I'm proud of you".
Even the destroy ending where shepard dies is better than the other choices but it's nice to get a reward for all the hard work of gaining assets. Despite lowering the required assets in this mod, I still push for at least 7k.
I really appreciate you making this, I love seeing shepard alive and hugging liara at the end.
I'm kind of sad I no longer get the original romanced Garrus heart wrenching yell/scream for Shepard during the breath scene. Now it's just his sad/hurt quiet "Shepard..."
This is one of the best mods in this community in my opinion and I would like to thank you and everyone else who worked on it!I recently made a modded playthrough of Mass Effect 3 and made an analysis video of said playthrough with AHEM as one of the chosen mods! I spoke about this mod one the most since there was a lot to unpack regarding the vanilla ending and how this mod is, in my opinion, a welcome alternative.
I don't know if this is uncommon, but the plot holes and contrived concepts are what ruined the ending for me rather than the "your choices don't factor into the ending(s) at all" notion. Personally, I'm okay with the ending being linear and simple. It just felt like the rushed, underdeveloped concepts and gigantic leaps in logic make the ending collapse on itself instead of give it more depth (in my opinion). Naturally, my video goes into greater detail about all this.
Regardless, I hope the analysis does your work justice!

I just wanted to gush a bit over this mod. For me it is the perfect way to end the trilogy and I was extremely happy with how seamlessly it works with the Citadel DLC. Your work is incredible and I wanted to express my gratitude. You've made me feel like I was finishing the game for the first time again, and that means a LOT.
Just a Question, I had now my ending with this mod.. "After the Crucible fires, Shepard is discovered by his/her squad (Including their LI if there is one)" The only thing I had at the end was the armor and the breathing, after that everyone stood at the memorial scene.. I still remember that the crew picked up Shep
I feel that it's kind of a waste to take away the options for Control or Synthesis from the player. While the fanfiction style fantasy of a super happy ending may be satisfying to some, it certainly isn't "better written" as all the people commenting seem to claim. This is a purely emotional improvement. What little it adds to the lore about the Catalyst and it's explanation for how it can specifically target Reapers is neat, but it's nothing deep. It may not have been executed amazingly, but the whole point of the Illusive Man's final stand about controlling the Reapers, but just not being able to overcome the Indoctrination was kind of inspired and I always thought the Control Ending had a certain appeal for a certain type of Shepard. Synthesis feels like an actual conclusive solution to some of the major issues in the franchise, but forcing it on the whole galaxy did feel like the action of a tyrant in a way, which would have been interesting to explore as either a evil or good choice depending on how you justify it. Both of these things are gone now.
It's rather ironic that the thing that players used to claim was their biggest gripe with the ME3 ending is the lack of real CHOICE and how it didn't account for your personal decisions, but this mod proves that the only thing they really wanted was a way to have their cake and eat it too. This quite literally has NO choices at all and a linear ending, yet it's what everyone swears is the best experience possible.
Really the only point of this is to lead smoothly into CEM from my point of view, which is a very ambitious rewrite at least.
I would never claim that this mod is what the ending should have been, it's simply a rework that aims to provide, as you say, emotional improvement and closure to those who were dissatisfied with the vanilla endings. The removal of 'choice' is semantic due to the meta-context of it being an optional mod. You choose this ending by downloading and installing the mod. If you don't want to use it, then that's fine too.
That said, I do think you misunderstand what the argument about lack of choice actually boiled down to. The vanilla endings (pre-Extended Cut) were largely identical and had no epilogue sequence or resolution. It's less about the concept of an actual choice being presented to the player, and more about the decisions that you made across the trilogy being reflected in the final outcome to the game (hence the epilogue slides). An issue that extends to the entirety of the game's final hours, rather than just the ending sequence itself (hence mods like Take Earth Back).
I think you are right, this is an optional mod that you choose to install, so you indeed could say that you picked this ending yourself. I haven't really looked at it in that way before. However, seeing that such a large portion of the fanbase swears that this is the correct way to end the game makes me wonder if a more ambitious solution that went into the actual themes of ME3 would have helped people come to terms with the other outcomes on a more amicable level. I do understand that people were angry over the lack of resolutions to personal choices across the trilogy (and I'm glad Bioware did the Extended Cut to address this to a degree). But I think it is wrong to claim that a major part of the complaints wasn't about the lack of variation in outcomes. And this mod truly only elevates/glorifies the Destroy ending while also taking away most of the context about the Reapers. I simply don't agree with people who consider this mod a "fix", as I see it as an "alternative" more than anything. It's the sudden Hollywood ending to a sci-fi epos.
By the way, I am not trying to diminish the efforts of this mod or any others that alter the ending to be more happy (e.g. CEM). I suppose I just lament what could have been. Mods like Take Earth Back which rework the gameplay centric part of the finale are more agreeable to me, as it feels like an extension of what the game was trying to do, but lacked the time/ressources. My apologies for venting. The comments on this mod just made me a little sad.
Wonder if there's any way BioWare will acknowledge this mod given its popularity. If they make a sequel to ME3 acknowledging its trashfire ending, gonna make a bunch of people annoyed.

That's a known bug in AHEM 1.6, and has been fixed for the next release.
