Must have for my playthroughs and very useful for frequent replays. I really appreciate all the different options you've provided - being able to adjust XP each playthrough for a nice difficulty curve based on how much time I want to spend in ME1, NG+ or not, etc is pretty great. A 'set it and forget it' mod that I think makes my whole experience of the game more enjoyable. Thank you!
The mod does not change your level nor the amount of already acquired XP. Only the XP you receive (from killing enemies, completing missions). I'm not sure what you mean by underlevelled, since the game always scales to you level.
Anyway, depends at what point of the playthrough you install it. Early in the playthrough it changes almost nothing. Mid playthrough, you should "catch up" relatively fast, especially with the Casual option. If you install towards the very end, it may not be enough.
XP works a lot differently in 2 and 3.. I had a quick look at some point and wasn't too sure how to go about it, but it's still on my list somewhere, might do something in the future.
But the thing is that in 2 and 3 you can reach max level within a single playthrough. So what would you want from those mods?
Difficulty (Insanity or not) doesn't really matter since the XP rewards are the same. But yes, with this mod you can reach max level within a single playthrough, which is not possible in the unmodded game.
I admit in the mass effect games I complete every single quest. I use the classic 1-60 level and usually picked the casual but I am finding by the time we get to Ilos I have maxed out the game. I was wondering if switching to the hardcore would be better as that is closer to to the 60 than casual is.
Yes, with the Casual option you will reach level 60 faster, that's the point. If you complete every side quest, the Hardcore option would likely be better adapted to you.
Cheers, I am redoing my mod list for my yearly christmas playthrough, I have installed the hardcore option now. I don't mind maxing out early I absolutely adore the game but fancy a change, I'll see how I do with hardcore.
Back almost a year later to say Hardcore was absolutely perfect for me, I forgot to comment before but I actually maxed out the level when climbing up the citadel tower to get to Saren at the almost end of the game. Perfect. :)
FYI, this mod, unless updated, will stop working in ME3Tweaks Mod Manager 9.0, as it needs updated to remain compatible with the LE1 2DA Merge feature.
Does this mod only affects exp or also affect the amount of points I gain per level? I ask because I installed it mid playtrough and I remember getting 4 ability points per level. I'm playing not in classic mode so my max level should be 30. However for every level I only gain 2 points since I instaled the mod.
No, my mod doesn't affect the number of skill points received. But I think it's normal that you receive less skill points after a certain number of levels. In classic mode, the first levels give 2 skill points, and later only 1. You can check the wiki to see the level thresholds.
Used this mod all the time in the old games. I've played ME enough times to know every inch of the game so the hardcore option is especially appreciated.
Can confirm that on legendary scaling you can reach level 30 with Hardcore in a single playthrough.

Edit: mod has been updated for 9.0 now.
Edit: done, the mod is updated and compatible with Mod Manager 9.0
