It is now 2025 and with the ramped up convo on r/masseffect, it has spurred a couple of years dormant playing period up again. This time unlike last, I added a good amoung of mods to add more life for me and somewhere in that, it provided all 6 weapons available. Due to this, my favorite heavy weapon was constantly missing and the save editor or other mods did not help this situation. I suffered a play through with this issue. For some reason, as of today that I am writing this, AI recommended this mod, I guess based on the way I finally asked the right question. Bottom line, mod installed, and holy crap it works. Now this play through will be what I wanted to do in the first place. Thank you so much for making a functioning mod to help with this issue that apparently is occurring for a lot of players.
Hey, does anybody know if this conflicts with the "fix weapons in cutscenes mod"? The mod it supposed to make it so your currently equipped weapon is used in cutscenes, I just did a mission and my character was not using his equipped weapon in the scene. Any help from anyone would be much appreciated, thanks =)
I wish i had found this mod earlier, i just finished modding the textures into my me2 game and launched it only to realise that ME2 still has the class restrictions. I thought they had removed them from all 3 games but seems they kept them in for me2
I wonder if i can install this even though ive already installed textures
Edit: Just saw another comment below which said it should be fine :D
Thanks for this mod. I played a shotgun Infiltrator and a sniper sentinel in ME1. Made no sense that Shep could no longer use these weapons in the second game. If anything he should get more weapons training given the upgrades. Endorsed.
I seem to be having issues in my LE2 game, while I can equip and unequip weapons normally restricted to other classes I can't pick up any weapons or mods during missions anymore. Has anyone here come across an issue like this after installing this mod? I have no idea where it can be coming from as I have not encountered the issue before.
I haven't received reports of anyone else having an issue like this - I'd suggest disabling or uninstalling any other mods you might be using to confirm that NUW is the underlying culprit here.
So, I have already installed texture mods on my LE2. Would it be safe to install this anyway? Or do I have to live without it? I know generally speaking, it's a bad idea to install new mods after textures. I didn't know if this would be an exception.
NUW doesn't alter or overwrite any of the files modified by texture mods, so it should in theory be safe for you to install.
For reference, that rule refers to the vast majority of mods that overwrite the base game's .pcc package files. A given texture might be referenced in several .pcc files, so it's critical that any mods which overwrite them are present when you install new textures. Adding new .pcc-containing mods afterward is bound to cause problems, as they may contain references to textures that no longer exist. By contrast, NUW doesn't contain any .pcc files, so this isn't really a risk.
Oh, that's good news! I'll have to try that out this weekend. Whatever the outcome, I'll be sure to let you know. Much appreciated for your quick response!
Great News! It seems to be working as it should, weapon slots are manageable and all my textures seem to still be in place. Thank you for your help and for this mod! :)
I'm Commander Shepard, and this is one of THE best mods on Nexus. Worked like a charm, love it. I can finally remove that ugly, bulky huge weapon on my back. I'm a biotic, don't need it anyways.
Ah, I figured it out. The ME2 LE Combat remastered mod was superseding this one so I had to look up how to manually adjust the .ini file in the DLC and add the missing weapons. Not hard to do.
Not sure exactly what they did, but at the very bottom of the BioGame.ini file there is a section called "New loadouts for player classes". Find your specific class and add the weapon type you want. You can copy and paste it from one of the other classes so that you don't have to type it out. If you don't like some of the changes that were made for the squadmates, you can change that under the "Give them new weapons" at the bottom.
Awesome! Endorsed, this completely changed my playthrough. I always run a Soldier Shep but went Infiltrator on this run and having access to the assault rifle and shotgun has been amazing. Used "unequip" on the pistol and it worked like a charm.
(side note: I should have picked up the Incisor sniper rifle sooner. )

Great mod!
Out of curiosity, will there be a version of this ported for Mass Effect 3? I'm trying to find a way to maintain consistency across games.
Disregard this, I'm good. I was informed ME3 doesn't have the problem in the first place.
