    But is it automatic?

It can be, but that requires some Coalesced editing and I'm not very well versed in that. I have mine set to full auto in my game but it fires nonstop and eats through my ammo reserves like its guest starring in a Rambo film. It only stops firing after the clip is out so I have mine set up with smaller clips to mitigate that. Will upload the file when I find a better fix.

There's a mod to make the mattock automatic. You could probably defer to the settings on that. I think the "fires nonstop" is just because of the burst fire mechanic losing the 3 round limit.

Does the mattock still use a semi automatic system in 3? I think the problem lies with burst weapons exclusively. I'm seeing similar issues others are having with the Argus and Valkyrie. Its looking like the best I can hope for right now is getting the Vindicator to behave like the Shuriken did before they nerfed it (tapping the trigger to fire like an automatic)

Its not ideal, but if I bound my controller to a key, it would basically serve the same function as repeated tappings

I should probably point out the mod i mention is for mass effect 2, though it is still a single shot semi in ME3.

That makes sense, thanks. Mass Effect 2's weapons file gave us free reign over which settings to turn on and off. 3 on the other hand seems hell bent on fighting me over the smallest changes. Its making me miss Andromeda's fire mode upgrades, to be honest. Maybe I can go check discord and someone can tell me if I'm wasting my time looking for a solution

Either way, I appreciate the suggestions ^ ^

That cant be done in ME3. You can only set it to a very fast (mouse1 button clicking/tapping) semi mode but not automatic.

Aw shoot. I figured that was the case, but its good to have confirmation at least. Thank you. Seems like the only work arounds now are input manipulation or taking the vindicator mesh and swapping it with another machine gun

You CAN make it genuinely full-auto, it's just that you can't do it through Coalesced edits. You have to edit the package file itself (SFXWeapon_AssaultRifle_Vindicator.pcc) to do it. One of the tools available through ME3Tweaks mod manager; Legendary Explorer (either version works) has a built-in package editor you can use. If you'd like, I can share the DLC mod I have.

That looks great! Exactly what I was looking for. I haven't even looked into editing PCCs yet but I'm happy to know its possible. And yes, I'd like a copy of that file, if you don't mind. If you upload the mod here I'd be happy to link your edit in the description for those that want it. Thank you in advance!

Ah yeah okay, with the PCC(Package) Editor. I did that and wow it works!
      @DeltaScorch105
      Thank you for hint! <3

      EDIT:
Here is the modified Vindicator.pcc file.
(1 roundperburst, Class is now set to Full-Auto)
You can add the file to any DLC styled Mod to keep the original untouched.

Its working on my end too! Thank you both very much.  Having to run to the shooting range to test my bin file every time was driving me up the wall. Once I get my texture to load over the new file, I'll add some instructions on how to avoid the MEM error

I can't pack my personal version for distribution through ME3Tweaks, because I can't back up my game, but I've packed the folder into a .7z file through 7zip itself here. ME3Tweaks will throw up a warning about problems with the archives since I packed the archive with another program, but it's probably fine. I'm sure there's some way to package the texture files with your version of the dlc mod, like the newer version of N7 Harrier does, though I don't know how functional it'll be. It would need to be a .tfc file, I think, not a .mem file.

In addition to making the Vindicator full-auto, it increases rateoffire to 900 (the ME2 Vindicator's RoF, since the ME3 Vindicator only fires at 550 RpM), magsize to 30, reserve ammo to 150/300, and reduces zoomrecoil. If you drag and drop the .bin file into the mod manager, it'll generate .xml's for each of the in-game .ini files used by the bin. The stat modifications are under BioWeapon.xml.

Your dlc mod seems to be working in my game without any problems. And from looking at the files in that N7 Harrier mod, it seems like all I need to do is pack my DDS files into a .tfc, just like you said and then put that in your cooked folder. I'm looking at a guide now and fortunately, I have enough room on my drive to make a back up in case I make a mistake. Will tell you how it goes

It's not horribly complex, at least on paper. If I remember correctly, it's something like:

      • Put the texture images into the mod folder.
      • Open the vindicator's package file and find the texture you want to replace.
      • Go to the "texture" tab in the right-hand panel and "import from file" near the bottom. Use the dropdown next to the button to pack a new .tfc file as you replace the vanilla ones.
      • Click "import from file" and make sure the image is correct.
      • Repeat steps 2-4 for all textures you want to replace. LE should pack the .tfc as you go.

I'll try it your way. Its sounds fairly straightforward. I'm pretty sure the guide I've been using is an outdated one for the original trilogy with lots of tedious steps involved for cooking the files. If nothing else, at least the 'install textures last' method works too. Thank you for your help ^ ^

      EDIT:
Worked like a charm. All textures are loaded properly as far as I can tell. I'll play a couple missions on insanity to see how it performs, but I like the changes so far

One common question about Tools > Mass Effect Modder
The Tool (espically, Texture Manager option) expands the Header (or similar) in every file in Cooked folder?
The Tool is such a pain in the bottom part^^

Yes I believe it scans for every PCC installed, including the ones in DLC mods and will show every texture that pertains to each package. I usually only work with weapons or characters because sifting through individual levels can take hours. It helps to get familiar with the names used for each category. TUR- for Turian. HMF-for Human female. HMM- for Human male WPN-for guns etc.

Okay that confirms my assumption. I've messed up my entire LE folder with that install order.

Is there by any chance a file left for your vindicator mod?

i'm probably going to catch flak for this, since it's about the texture mod manager, but i gotta ask this anyway after having to deal with doing a game restore for le3 earlier:

is it possible to JUST delete the texture scan file from the texture mod manager and install new textures? or do i really have to completely restore the game's files, re-apply every mod, and then re-add the texture files or add new textures?

cause that's a major pain in the ass, and it took way to long to restore the le3 game files to vanilla.

I hear you. Back when I first got the game, I got into modding the game blind. So when more advanced mods came out, It messed up my install and I had to download all 100 gbs all over again before I could edit textures

Deleting the scan file can work sometimes. Most of the time I don't need to delete anything. I usually get an error after installing a new mod if I've already created a scan file. But then if I disable that new mod in ME3Tweaks, the texture manager will behave like normal and let me edit the textures. I then re-enable the mod from the manager after I'm done replacing textures and it all works. This will of course depend on the nature of the mod and how it was installed

Deleting the scan file on its own may be a temporary solution, but you can never be sure your textures won't break again in the future. Complete restoration is a pain if you didn't make back ups, but its also the safest way to approach this problem and its the reason I backed up my mod folder as well as my vanilla installs separately. Restoring from back up takes me less than a minute and then I just drag my DLC mods back where I had them installed originally. I also put all the .mem files I use in one place so I can just hit Ctrl+A and install them all in one go

So is this a new separate version, or does it replace the regular Vindicator?

Its only a re-texture for now. If I find a reliable way to make it a full auto weapon I'll look into making this its own DLC mod
