Probably but A) He appears in a pre-rendered cutscene with the Mercenary armour and B) I think the red suits him better anyway. It'd be simple enough to do with the LE3 framework though if someone else wanted to do it.
you probably already know by now but for anyone else searching like i was, you can get the warlord look in mass effect 3 from an optional file in the father of krogan mod 8)
IMO: In LE2 he uses his family armor because he is representing clan Urdnot and wants unity, not because of inconsistency from the developers. After all, he said it himself "I can't believe my ancestors even wore this piece of crap, but at least I've got it back". He is not using it because he likes it, he is using it because he must. By LE3 he has already become the leader of the Krogan and doesn't need to keep using the armor.
Hello! There seems to be a compatibility issue, between this mod and another mod, called ''Easy Armor Stats'' and Wrex shows up in his default ME2 armor. I've checked by disabling all of my mods, without those two, and that's the only time this incompatibility occurs .-. In any other circumstance the mod is working as intended.
EDIT: I've rooted out another mod, which causes this issue of Wrex's armor returning to default - ''LE2 Liara Squadmate''. I'm unsure if compatibility patches can be made for both mods, but I'm posting this here for your information, and for others who use those mods.
Thanks for letting me know. I've informed the EAS dev and they'll update with a patch soon. As for the Liara squadmate mod - that mod, unfortunately, ships way too many files for compatibility to be tenable. Though that seems more of an experiment than anything, really.

LE1: Red armour
LE2: Warlord armour
LE3: Red armour
After the mod:
LE1: Red armour
LE2: Red armour
LE3: Red armour
I haven't said anywhere that this is a fix, or makes things better. It just creates consistency for those who want it.
