Hi Owen. The mod description has a link to the uncooked files for this mod on gitlab. The gitlab README explains how to get this mod loaded into the MW5 mod editor. From there you can see how this BLR was added to the game and do the same thing for any other variant of a mech that is already in the game, such as the MAD and WHM. The whole thing can be done by editing some config files. No knowledge of programming needed.
Hi Mickey. I won't take requests. However, adding AMS to the COR-PVT only requires editing two config files. It'd be a great way to get started with MW5 modding. Check out the official modding tutorial. If you load up the mod editor, the two files you need to edit can be found in /DLC1/Objects/Mechs/Corsair/MDA /DLC1/Objects/Mechs/Corsair/Loadout
Thank you for adding this I love it and it makes the game so much more fun having a something closer to a true command mech for the commander. The only way this could be better for me would be if one of the missile slots was a ballistic but you can't have it all.
Could you release a separate mod that uses Engine Double Heat Sinks?! The BLR-1Gc and BLR-1Gd both had them. It would be fantastic if we could get a BLR with XL, ES, and DHS. As configured, your variant in this mod here should have a cooling of 3.4 if the Ten Engine Heat Sinks were doubled. They are not.
If you fix the cooling rating as stated above to upgrade the internal Engine Heat Sinks to Double Heat Sinks (which would be great), please also increase the basic "Heat Capacity" by factor 1.5, which would come along with ist too.
Taking a look at a bunch of the MDA files, all mechs with larger engines seem to have "baseHeatCapacity": 40 "baseCoolingRate": 1 regardless of whether the mech runs XL or standard engine and regardless of whether heatSinkType is set to single or double. I would assume the game does some multiplier on the above values when heatSinkType is set to double, to account for the difference, but I haven't tested it.
Just did some in game testing and the mechs with XL + DHS dissipate heat at the exact same rate as mechs with standard engines and single heat sinks, which seems like a bug. How did I never notice this???
Bought a copy of the Battletech TechManual and re-read the rules for mech construction. DHS built into the engine don't change heat capacity but they do dissipate heat at 2x, so baseCoolingRate should be 2 for all mechs with DHS. baseHeatCapacity should remain the same at 40. I'll update the 1E accordingly.
Thank you. This maintains continuity with lore and TT when it comes to Star League, Inner Sphere and Clan tech eras. You can't impart game balancing without breaking that continuity, and it'd be wrong to try, so I'm glad Double Engine Heat Sinks will get done properly as they should be. Kudos to you.

Could you release a new version with a faster speed?
Can you give COR-PVT (Corsair) couple of AMS slots hehe
PS is there any XML file for save editor ?

It should show up in stores, but I don't know of a reliable way to test that. After playing through a full campaign with this mod installed, I'm fairly certain the BLR-1E doesn't appear in stores.
