So I switched my mod from the Steam Workshop to Nexus Mods as I'd heard that the UAI version you have here is more compatible with other mods. Ran some missions & both Jaguar & HotRod seem to be doing fine... except know I had the Hotrod quest about his treatments, & even though I went ahead with his treatments, he's Injured with a Clock Icon that says 0. I've jumped several systems & passed months of time, but he's still exactly as injured as he was even though I said to go ahead with his treatments. Is this a bug or am I supposed to wait for another event for him to be able to return as a pilot for me?
After finally trying this... I kinda wish there was more content out there like it. It isn't running perfect (Hotrod and Jaguar appeared twice...), but it IS growing on me :) (am using the UAI version)
Use the UAI version of it - this way it doesn't override the new campaign arc functions if you are having issues with them showing up. That version just needs the Universal Arc Injector installed as well.
lol, I see you had adopted the UAI system over your CAL system, this is something I also been trying to create but only able to create a bypass at an attempt of creating dummy ARCs and using load orders to overwrite them, too much work and had to change every assets for every little changed, easy to do short-term, but long-term... yea, no. lmao
Would the Call of Garrison Duty work with UAI as well?
Call of Garrison Duty will be updated next, but I want to iron out some of the plethora of bugs first. Too many reports of peoples games crashing for my liking.
hi there-- i have a question -- i was running your mod(misfit pilot) thru the steam workshop, i was using the CAL compatible so i could also use the Garrison time line skip. well the Garrison time line skip did not work . but the misfit pilot one did so i was happy. but then i noticed that after the DLC3, the "those in need" quest did not show up? so i run alot of mods so i just started turning them off to find the problem and when i turned off the "misfit pilot" and the "CAL compatible" mods the quest popped up right off the bat. am i the only one to experience this? any input is welcome thanks
I think misfit pilot quest comes up instantly after a certain date & faction rep level.
CAL only supports misfit & garrison duty, and garrison duty has some issues.
What i really need to do is get the source from the other quest mods on nexus and add them to CAL, so all of the campaign arc overrides can work together.
I have had the misfit mod in my mods for a while now (months?), and although I can readily encounter Hotrod easily in my timeline, I have yet to see Novak (both in career and in campaign, playing well into the 2040s-50s). Am I doing something wrong? I have the Pilot Overhaul mod activated - should misfit be in a certain load order to to Overhaul?
Nevermind....I did not read the fine print (3052)....I should be a cautious word to the wise....RTFM!
Well, after you went to all of the trouble to modify things, I tried to redownload the mod only to find that it won't give me Novak back (I dismissed her). I'm using 330's Pilot Overhaul and now Hotrod is hell on wheels (seriously good and fun to have on missions)! I've deleted the mods from my folders and redownloaded it and still there is no Novak. Do you have any recommendations?
Whatever the case, thanks a bunch for everything! I wish more folks did stuff like this to add life to the game! =)
EDIT: I just tried again by deleting both the Steam version and the Nexus version of these mods (and all data in my Mods folder with Misfits in it), updating the launcher, closing out the game, downloading your standalone version, loading the game, applying it in the Steam box, closing the game out again and restarting and there is no change. I have a Hotrod only. Wish I could tell what I was doing wrong.
Hmmm.. at the moment there is no way to get her back as the quest gets marked as completed. What I might be able to do in the next release is have a remote planet you can visit where you can always get her.
Look who showed up out of the blue in Meacham on 17 Feb 3053? =) Thanks for dropping her salary from 100,000 to 42,000 - that's far more reasonable because she's definitely worth it. Look forward to running around with her again! =)
Thank you for your work, guy! I'm already love Hotrod! At least one normal human face between these Eggs-headed clones! What do you think about these things: 1 An year driven pilots (for example an one new pilot every year). 2 An item have driven (FE: i'll be your pilot for little fee if you have an Atlas mech) 3 And system driven pilot (FE: you can hire a Kai Allard-Liao if you'll go to Solaris system) in the sum i mean any "situation or "event" driven" pilot quests! Thank you again!
Year & system driven pilots are definitely doable, but not item. However, I guess you could make the event only fire when the mercenary company has a lot of CBills.
can you set them as a mission reward like the crappy reward pilots? if so you could make a multi part mission where part one awards the item and xp then part 2 introduces the pilots related to it and the option to take or get rid of them as the mission?
Thank you for your mod! Usually positionong your mod like PoC mean you want more feedback and ideas. We do! Please don't stop your work! Unfortunately not everybody have a good enough time and talent to be a modders! We humble hope for the continue!
Re: Two pilot questlines, however the second pilot is only available after 3052 ;)
I hope he will be Hotrod's grandson or may be even granddaughter! :) So a family line of pilots quests may looks interesting to! (it's may be like continue of main Hotrod's quest!)
I agree that posting an images may growth an user interest to your mod, but they looks like spoilers for me! I think the true quest must be secret! ;)
Feedback time (in the spirit of providing it solely for your improvement)! I've played with this mod for about an hour now. =)
Here's what I don't like: 1. Novak costs 1.2 million C-Bills a year to employ? That is equal to or more than 5 times the amount of hiring pilots out of the Barracks. While there is no upfront cost, in the long run, Novak alone is going to run me more than the upkeep of some of my mechs and I don't like it. I am strongly considering tossing her as I have 5 pilots who are her equal and Novak alone is costing me more than all of them combined. 2. The intro stories are cool and fun! One of the options for Novak had me hiring her before her fight was over with - it was like one of the pages of the scene had been skipped. After I had hired her, then the page providing the outcome of the fight appeared (I chose to help her against the knife-wielder). This can't be as intended, can it? =) 3. That said, she doesn't come with a mech of her own?
Here's what I do like: 1. Leonard is charming and I like his backstory! For a fellow with a Hispanic last name, he comes across about as Caucasian as can be and I don't know how I feel about that (remember Sean Connery's performance as "Ramirez" in the first Highlander movie? Terrific but... where is the Hispanic in him?). 2. His upkeep cost is extremely low (perhaps to balance out Novak?). 3. I like his little Urbanmech! Everything from the way it's set up to the paint job. 4. Going back to Novak, she appears to be Asian? I like her in-combat chatter and the supernatural aspect involving Commander Mech-wrecker. Fun! 5. I like both of their portraits and the life you've put into them! =)
And here is one thing I don't understand: 1. Is there more to these characters after you hire them? Did I misread something? I fell under the impression they have quests of their own. Is this true?
Please do keep up the good work. I really appreciate what you have done here. =) Modders like you are the among the reasons I purchased Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries (and the JumpShip edition to boot) - seriously! =)
EDIT: I see now that the quests are text-only (I'm still new enough to this game to think they're in-game missions). Still, fun characters make for good times! =)
Hmm... will defs have to adjustNovak's salary as that sounds a bit too high. I am also changing her voice.
I will keep adding little quests for each of the characters as i go along. There are a few quests left from the originaly battletech mod which i will port over too.
TBH the last name Ramirez is stolen from the 'Community' character 'Leonard Ramirez' of which the portrait is based on. However, given the multi-cultural mixed-heritage nature of the battletech setting it does fit quite well.
Hey! That's quite a nice surprise, adjusting Nowak's salary. Thanks! I've run into a problem though (and I'm still kind of new at this whole mod thing). Thinking I was stuck with Nowak (and salary 100,000 C-bill salary), I dismissed her and kept Hotrod. However when I replaced the mod with your recently-made mod ("Misfit Pilot Quests V4" I think it's called?), I received an in-game Transmission for Hotrod but not Nowak. I was using Steam's version of your mod. I learned just an hour ago how to use RAR mods (extract using 7-Zip). How do I get Nowak back?
Also, I've been having fun with the excellent Pilot Overhaul mod! My current version of Hotrod is greatly improved over his original setup. When I installed V4, I received a second Hotrod with base statistics, but again, no Nowak. I am eager to try her again, but I'm not sure how to get her back. Would you have any ideas, please?
Yours was an easy mod to Endorse - you put a lot of effort into this to make it fun! =)

Also it seems to disable some of the new Bounty Hunter DLC4 functions.
This has been the same through multiple releases.

I would also love to see other modders dismantle the source code and build their own similar mods!
