Honestly my biggest gripe with HH is the super small threshold for perfect performance hits. The beat of the song sucks to give a good indicator of when to press the button to get the red hit. Not to mention that you can't even hear the song in the middle of combat most of the time.

Just so you're aware, while you still have to have a certain level of skill for it, I've found that far and away the BEST indicator that works regardless of which horn you use is not the music, nor the foot movement some people mention in the videos. Watch your hunter's head movement. Every time you want to hit the next encore button press for the red flash is when the hunter headbangs to the right. You'll wanna press it slightly before the headbang. If it doesn't work, then delay the button press a bit but it's more or less in line with the headbang. You do not need to listen to the music, hear over the sound effects, nor be screwed over when you're standing in deep water/oil trying to look for the feet movements. The head gives it all away.
I never pay attention to the music beat. I look at my character's left foot. As soon as it hits the ground, you hit the performance beat. Works every time. Extremely easy.
Its probably worth pointing out, this legitimately makes the weapon actually just worse. Reducing every song to one or two attacks makes managing the song list basically impossible. It can cause a single note to take up two or three slots at once and overwrite your other songs, and there is no longer any possible combo that doesn't perform a song. In practice, you will actually wind up doing less damage from using less attacks. And you'll have to be doing recitals constantly in order to apply your full list of buffs, which is not feasible because the monster will not give you that window of opportunity. Healing is also arguably the least relevant echo bubble effect at a high level of play, since other people will be taking less damage.
This mod is I think really only useful if you spend all your time corner-horning, which despite the support from buffs will actually piss off other hunters. If you want a more convenient way of providing support to other people (and especially if you want to be an effective healer) I very strongly recommend that you instead put on the wide-range skill, which will extend your item use to other people and make every potion you use heal others.
