After replacing these two files and deleting shader.cache2, recompiling the shaders no longer regenerates shader.cache2. Every time I launch the game, it has to recompile the shaders again.
what does this mean? Im dealing with the same issue except it doesnt get past the boot up. its in windowed mode like usual but normally i should get the compile shader but its eternal black screen. what is the MDF-XL and how can i fix this ^^
Edit: nvm it just fixed itself after another couple of boot up attempts
No noticable improvement on my end. No issues either though. Stutter and texture pop in when turning the camera is still there. I assume only Capcom can fix that, possibly by keeping more textures in RAM for quick loading rather than unloading stuff as soon as you don't look at it. 9800X3D, 96Gb 6000mhz RAM, RX 9070 XT
Has anyone encountered the same situation as me? After I updated it, the game became a lot laggy and prone to crashing I also found that every time I start the game, I have to re render the shader A brother in the comment section mentioned 'MDF-XL has prevented the generation of new shader. mache2'. But I don't understand what this is and how should I solve it
With default Direct Storage my game took 49 seconds to boot to the starting animation (with skip intros mod on for all testing). 49 seconds after just replacing the files. 45 seconds after replacing the files and deleting the shader cache. 45 seconds after playing the game for a bit and relaunching.
Yea. My game needed around 4 minutes to bootup when using DS 1.2.3, I usually go do something else after pushing the "play" button on Steam to kill waiting time. Now with DS 1.2.4, it only takes around 40 seconds.
6 times faster and there's no additional stutter at all.
Updated GPU decompression shader to be HLSL shader language version 2021 compliant. This fixes TDR issues reported on older GPUs that do not support the optimized GPU decompression path.
You may experience initial stuttering after deleting shader.cache2 since mh wilds builds the cache up as you encounter things and play. Do a hunt or two, restart, then see how it feels.

with this it seems to have helped tremendously
for anyone wondering if it was placebo, well it didn't HURT the performance at all at least so i recommend you still give it a try
MS changelog is that
If you would like it from nuget, then https://packages.nuget.org/api/v1/package/Microsoft.Direct3D.DirectStorage and rename the nupkg file extension to zip and extract. Look in native/bin/x64
