This mod will cause a softlock during "A Hunter's Pride". (super minor spoilers but just in case)
Spoiler:
Show
After chasing the Doshaguma when the hunter says "I will try to provoke it", the Seikret will run to the edge of the outcropping and stay there, softlocking the game.
The good news is that you can just save and quit the game, delete the mod file, and it will load you right at that point, so you won't lose any progress.
I've been using this mod since the start of the game and this is the first time I've encountered such a situation, but it's safe to assume that it can potentially break any sequence where the Seikret has to chase a big monster. I'll update this with any other cases as I encounter them.
I see on your description, we can use paint like old mh for tracking monster un quest. I see lock monster is broken too with this mod, its no problem for me, i had never play with this camera lock R3.
My question is: When i use painter, its not work, nice to not have icone and try to find mosnter in map ( but with map mod, we have always yellow icone to see monster ). But when i find it, we have not possibility to find him during fight , when the monster leaves or when we die. Cause with the mod, the seikret can t track monster, and we don t have the navicioles to now where to go.
I make mistake or you too can t use painter with this mod finally?
I still have the dragon head that supposed to be on the monster icon. There is a way to suppress it ? Because it still tell me where the monster is. It even show on the minimap. It would be perfect if I could hide it.
yeah I have the same thing it works in the beginning but then the monster will get a red dragon skull, i think when it's enraged. it also shows up again when it limps and flees the area so I'm able to see where it's fleeing to even if i don't use a paintball
I got it and it works great for clearing up the clutter on the map but checking the box for boss monsters doesn't get rid of the distance icon while having them targeted.
Fantastic mod ! To add to it, is there any chance you would left us with an option to kill chat pop-ups aswell ? Those constant notifications are a deal breaker, destroying any sense of immersion. Honestly wtf Capcom
I've seen people bothered by those very notifs, as the ones informing you in real time about what skill just procked.
As for me, I was speaking about those chat pop-ups the game constantly bombards you with each time a specific monster "enters/leaves the locale". I don't effin want to know lol. How Capcom would spent so much efforts crafting an immersive/believable world only to obliterate any incentives for proper exploration with sms-like spamming sh!t like this is beyond me.
The heart of the problem resides in the fact Options only leaves you with the choice of chatlog typo size. You can't hide it for good.
I see, it's definitely possible! I do find those annoying as well, really wish capcom just allowed us to turn this stuff off without having to pull apart their game! I'm not really looking into making a ton of mods I just found the Quest Marker particularly egregious and couldn't enjoy the game with it on
I can only imagine the time and dedication getting into mod creation would require. In any case, your work already does wonders, especially when coupled with Vuze map configurator as mentionned. Many thanks for your contribution. Now omw back exploring maps with as little hints as possible
So I've been playing with your Mod despite the issues others have reported, just to get as much info as I can with what has transpired:
- You can still lock onto things in the map, as long as its not Endemic - Monster life (i.e Mining Nodes, etc.) I've come to wholly despise the whole tracking system atp, ngl.
- Target Lock is wholly disabled, it's basically OG MH at that point, been playing with a plethora of weapons and it's not so bad imo, but I'm a masochist.
-As nice as it is to not have a Monster Icon following you around the whole time, the entire tracking system needs a massive overhaul from Capcoms side, because this mod absolutely takes away functionality from this barebones excuse of a "Tracking System".
probably! I'm new to this so can't say for sure. I recommend checking out the Monster Hunter Modding Discord, someone may be able to help you with that.

Having the paintball enable the UI just for the monster was a bit beyond my level of expertise, hopefully someone can expand on this though!
