Dogshit take, I have used every weapon in the game and been playing since MH released. With that being the case, this has literally no bearing on 99% of hunts. As a bow main in Wilds, I don't want to have to use dragon piercer 20 times just to cut a tail, and I don't want to have to switch off my weapon, when I CAN cut the tail with the weapon I'm using but it's tedious.

You feel like one of the people who complains when someone says that Dark Souls or Elden Ring is difficult for them, so they get a mod to make it easier and more accessible.

I'll never understand someone taking time out of their day to post a comment, telling someone else how to play a game that they paid to play. At the end of the day, could someone use a 2nd weapon to cut the tail then switch back to their main. Yes. Does it actually impact your gameplay in literally any way whatsoever? No. Just play and enjoy the game however you want, if Capcom had any real issues with mods like this, they would do something about it, but they haven't since modding these games became popular.

I'm more worried that I might accidentally buff and heal you in multiplayer than you worrying about me bringing this mod online, so you've won, sort of.

I don't get it, has everyone in the comments section suddenly gone crazy? Why the sudden moral grandstanding? Complaining about a mod and saying it's unfair? Saying it can't be played online?
If your life is so pathetic, you can choose to end it, instead of venting online.
Besides, even without the mod, no one wants to play online with you guys anyway; you're too disgusting.

You know you have a throwing knife that does cutting damage right? Bonk the tail till its ready to fall off and throw the knife for 2 damage and it goes flying.

That's an old urban legend. It worked in Monster Hunter Online (which wasn't even made by Capcom), but non-slashing damage doesn't contribute to severing in any other game.

Idk what games your playing but a quick google confirms that its how every game works, older games say to use a boomerang to get the final cut but its the same thing. You deal partbreaking damage with everything to everything, you just need cutting for the final hit to cut, the free throwing knife we all have at all times will do it.
*alright further googling/youtubing has most people agreeing with me with a small number saying nay, but I can find no proof anywhere that bonking the tail for awhile and throwing a boomerang/knife will cut the tail. Theres a couple videos of people with a hammer equipped spamming boomerang throws for several minutes until the tail comes off without ever bonking it once. Ive never tested because hammers are lame, and Im not going to test because hammers are lame but at this point I believe you are correct due to no evidence to support my case and little to support yours, little is more than none :). It appears you need cutting damage specifically to build up the tails cut bar, blunt will not contribute at all.

Of course you can google people saying an urban legend is true. That is literally how they work. You are being one of those people right now. What you won't find is video proof, just videos disproving it.

It's like Deviljho eating his own tail. Lots of people have heard it happens, but have never seen it. Doesn't happen.

Hey bro, I was drawn here by this comment.
I actually experienced Deviljho eating its own tail in MHP3rd on the PSP. It was a really interesting moment. In the game, you could place raw meat for Deviljho to eat, which would apply status effects. If you severed its tail and there was no other raw meat on the map, there was a chance that Deviljho would walk toward its tail and perform a feeding animation—then the tail would just disappear.
I'm not sure if MHW or MHWI kept this mechanic, since I wasn’t around at the time.

fake myth btw. already proven the only video evidence ever made was on an emulator by a dude who cheat engined it a piece of meat there then cut the video early.

Asked a few YouTubers to make a video Mythbusting this and Azurite answered and did. What a chad.
The TLDR is that blunt damage does nothing to help Sever a tail, UNLESS its a monster whos tail has to BREAK first and then be Severed, like Quematrice and Jin Dahaad. The Blunt damage can help BREAK the tail faster, allowing the Cutters to get to Severing phase faster.

my issue was always that elemental damage makes it harder to cut off the tail since it doesn't contribute to the sever but does contribute to the kill

You do realise Capcom can't ban players because of how multiplayer works right?

Technically, Capcom can ban you. There's an error message for being banned from the master server the game connects to, and all multiplayer initially connects through that.

But despite being anti-modding, Capcom is infamous for not bothering to ban even the most egregious cheaters. So, most people assume Wilds will be more of the same, but there's no way to know for sure until the hammer starts swinging.

Realistically, even if Capcom cracks down, they'll be too busy banning the people doing hilariously obvious stuff to review video footage of suspicious tail removals. But they could. Worth considering before using this in a publicly-posted quest.

... also, there was another comment thread about this, started by the same person, and it's gone. That's odd.

    Yo Vaeux,

I was wondering if you would ever consider enabling videos on your mods? If your not keen on it, perhaps the approval function is an option, so that way you can control what vids are shown.

    Cheers,

Probably not. I don't really make mods that need their own videos, and don't want barely-related stuff like compilations or generic tutorials. Sorry.

TLDR: I been sweeping around mods to see what people are doing and in some cases see how they are doing it. It's crazy to see people project their ego on a mod they don't plan to use, study or suggest to anyone. You can simply not attack modders for a mod that practically impacts nothing considering the options we have in game and cheats people use that do impact other players.
    --
I usually don't say much but this is pretty shameful behavior. I'm surprised at the amount of people mentioning how this is bad because second weapon slot when it honestly doesn't matter.

1: This is a modding site. If your here to shame people for mods don't? That's like if I went to youtubers who are better than me to shame them for using optimal builds and faking times with poison/trap meta. Noone is obligated to push their opinions on others and bad faith opinions never help. I ignore hundreds of mods every day and you can too. it's easy, just don't care about what others put in their game unless it directly impacts the experience of others in a negative way. Like people running cheat scripts that 1shot everything or players corrupting other players data in World "for fun". Direct your toxicity towards people who damage the game not modders putting out mods only really useful for singleplayer experiences that wont impact you.

2: There is only 2 monster in the game of current that games a extreme advantage to cutting off it's tail. Let's be honest, if the fire bird and flying green lizard is giving you that much trouble, you might wanna dial back your aggression or learn how to position better.

3: This mod only works for the host so not like everyone will come into your room chunking off tails with hammers. Many mods (like infinite items or monster interaction based ones) are client sided and don't function if your not the host.

Lastly there are other ways(heavy slashing pods to a wound is PM instant cut or even Slash Echo with HH) to cut off tails with blunts. I don't see the point in flexing your egos here when you don't even need a second weapon to cut many tails and you can often get the tail reward from investigations.

this is the reason they added 2nd weapon slot lmao, more like its your problem for having skill issues to not try another weapon, you dont even need to switch gear anymore, literally call your mount and that's it.

nah fam. I prefer using my hammer and my secondary weapon slot is filled with another hammer.
TBH though, if you don't like the mod, don't download it is all. Let people play the game the way they want to. They bought the game for themselves to enjoy

Im not using this mod but im looking at the quality of life mods to see what is out there. The fact people are B****ing on a modding website is comical >.<

PS. stay off a modding site if mods of any kind are going to trigger your soft mind.

It's totally fair. My mod, in its majestic equality, allows slashing, blunt, and shot weapons to all break parts they normally couldn't.

i completely agree which is why i find it funny that people get butthurt over how blunt weapon can't sever and have to specifically make a mod to fix a non existant problem
