I know that you said the new update should not have messed with the mod but I cannot get it to work any longer. I have loose files log on and used fluffy installer so I am not sure if there is something I may be missing.
It seems to be a little bit buggy, but it can be made to work. I've just noticed it sometimes switches back to Close-Range Coatings quite randomly at first, but after forcibly changing it to a new coating a few times it sorta settles down.
That's weird. Only time it reverts back to close-range for me is when I change loadout. This mod changing coating by itself and being laggy is strange, it's only a few adjusted values from a game file. Any chance you have a mod using a script that do anything to bows? Like Buffer for exemple with forced charge level or infinite trick gauge?
I've got an old version of Buffer from before it was made compatible with Gunner weapons. I have been using a trainer to handle other weapon-related things until Buffer could be updated to handle all of them. I mean technically speaking if Buffer can now handle coating availability then this particular mod would be redundant for me... but last time I checked it couldn't do that.
It does and when I tried it it was particularly buggy, often like you described resetting to close range, and every time I changed bow I had to disable/enable the coating change. Main reason why I even made this mod in the first place which proved way less laggy for me. The symptoms you described reminded me of my experience with buffer before I made the mod, which is why I asked.
Ah. The mod author for Buffer said they weren't familiar with Gunner Weapons, which might play a part. Still, I kinda rely on Buffer for when I play with other weapons.... so I'm not sure how things will go with that. Maybe I'll just alternate between them.
While I don't use it I still have Buffer installed, with no issue whatsoever, so it's still weird that with Buffer uptdated and no conflict between Buffer and my mod (i.e nothing enabled in the Bow section of Buffer) you still have issues. Unsure of what to do to help, sorry!
i've tried everything and cant get the all coatings to work. i have loose file enabled. i tried to manually insert it, and used fluffy and nothing is working.
I'm sorry I don't know what to tell you to do. Just in case I tried both Fluffy and manual install on both file again and everything works fine on my end. If you have REFramework, LooseFileLoader enabled, and the file placed in the right place like I showed you in the previous post, it SHOULD work.
so i've been looking at the files, and for some reason my file is (ArtianPerformanceData.user) rather than the one you put which is (ArtianPerformanceData.user.3). any idea how the .3 got deleted? maybe thats why it isnt working? anyway to fix it?
.3 is the extension of the file. Maybe you don't have the option enabled in your file explorer? (Can be done so in the "display" tab of File Explorer). It shouldn't matter anyway.
Can you walk me through what you're doing to install the mod after you download the file here with as much details as you can? Like I said I'm not sure how to help you right now.
-slow download from nexus -open download folder in file explorer -cut it and paste it in mods folder in fluffy (i dont unzip cause fluffy says not needed) -enable mod in fmm (i can see mod name and picture though) -boot game through fmm -once game boots enable loosefileloader -start game by joining lobby -check my current bow, and there is nothing on them
You're doing the installation correctly however you say "-once game boots enable loosefileloader". You shouldn't have to do this on every game boot, the problem is probably here. But I'm not sure how to help you fix it. Maybe ask for help on the REFramework page? If loosefileloader is unckecked at every boot it's probably an issue linked to REFramework? If you have other mods installed, do they work properly?
i didnt know it should be on at all times, however all of my other mods that rely on loose file works when i enable it upon boot, but before entering lobby.
That's very strange. The way loosefileloader works, from my understanding with what I've read around here, is that you should launch the game, enable "once and for all" loosefileloader, quit the game for the change to take effects. And then launch the game again for the mods to be working.
From what I can tell index 0 is poison, 1 is para, 2 is sleep, 3 is blast, 5 is short range, 6 is power and 7 is pierce? Not sure about the rest though.

- I have a mod that basically allows me to create a perfect artian. Does this mean it wont work with that?

or is it like: install mod, craft artian bow, profit, uninstall mod?
Looking at your Game's Directory, it should look something like this:
MonsterHunterWilds
├ natives
└ STM
└ GameDesign
└ Facility
└ ArtianPerformanceData.user.3
├ REFramework
├ dinput8.dll
└ MonsterHunterWilds.exe

Could it be possible to do the same for bowguns ammo ? I’d be very nice.
