Please be aware that this is a work in progress. There have been reports that crashes can occur after 30 minutes to an hour of play due to the anti-tamper that is still present.

DLSS frame generation is a known cause of random crashes, unknown as to why at this time.

If you are using ANY overlays like the Discord overlay, Medal, Overwolf, Rivatuner/Afterburner, etc... Turn them off if you are crashing on startup.

If you are infinite loading after an update, you have a file-based/pak
based mod that is no longer compatible, this is not REFramework's fault.

If you are crashing then upload your re2_framework_log.txt, and your
reframework_crash.dmp to the GitHub's issues page. DO NOT POST IT HERE. SNIPPETS OF IT DO NOT HELP.

To uninstall REFramework temporarily, simply remove the dinput8.dll file from your game directory. To
completely remove it along with ALL mods, you will need to delete the
    reframework folder, re2_fw_config.txt, re2_framework_log.txt, and
reframework_crash.dmp as well (if it exists).

github version working for me. (make sure to download MHWilds Version)
      https://github.com/praydog/REFramework-nightly/releases

Just got off after running Todays stuff for Blossom event. (I don't got much on outside fishing and shutting nata up)

If your removing dinput, causes Game to start fine.   Sound like you have Mods that need updating.  Wait for an update, or remove them.
(check those mod pages for whats install)

Use Fluffy to remove if you are, double check too see it is.

It's obvious but don't use the RE7.zip file on github, take the MHWILDS.zip (facepalm myself).

i notice with every mod i try im getting short freezes.. the game always recovers but sometimes they're long enough to kick me out of MP but no full crashes .
could it be related to the REF still being a Work in Progress? or because im on linux?

CAPCOM has announced that they are expanding their measures against MODs.
I am using this MOD to apply ReShade, but I am worried about getting banned.

I would appreciate insights from those who are familiar with this topic.

At the current moment(April 21, 2025), no one knows what the modding landscape could be if Capcom wanted to end modding they would add a  DRM like they did to the MH World PC port or worst an anti cheat but that is unlikely but still could happen, but modders still find ways. We will have to wait for future statements from the team because to be transparent, the statement on April 18 was s#*! because how vague and broad their statements were, but from past statements that were similar to the one we got April 18 about cheaters such as from mh sunbreak(anomly investigations custom quests), mh world(one shotting monster in a public lobby)  and street fighter 6(Chun li mod tournament incident). The modding scene is very much alive in all three of these games. Plus, going by the statement from Capcom, it looks like they are being carried by the report a player feature at the moment which is both a good and bad thing to handle bans. I think their primary focus is on people who mod to get unrealistic arena quest times and field survey/investigation with illegal rewards, which can be publicly accessed in a public lobby, which Capcom is mad about. As for mods that improve game performance, make lower-end hardware run the game, cosmetic mods, and client-side mods that don't affect others, that is still up for discussion and will have to wait for a future statement. But I'll be damned if I get banned for playing single player only using reshade and reframework but we will see. Because in the Capcom statement, they said they are going after anyone who modifies data and files, which could be a bluff, but we still don't know to the extent they are willing to go as for now I think it's better if PC players just play online single player to be safe or a group a players they know and are cool with mods which sucks but you never know with the minority of players who see all mods as cheats.

For those waiting for an update, I recommend downloading the latest update from Github, it removed much more stuttering for me, compared to the version that is live on nexus

Capcom will not ban you for using ref, nor for installing mods, nor even for cheating. The only reason they will ban you is that you use mods that ruin other people's gaming experience with enter, participate in, or initiate online missions, as well as the DLCs unlock mod. These mods will not cause any problems if you use them alone. Only when you are reported by many people will attract Capcom's attention. So those who are worried are either idiots who have spread anxiety, or rats who really use unbalanced mods to damage other people's gaming experience and saves. (In addition, if you use cheats to complete the challenge mission, it shows your contempt for such online missions. If you are banned, it is your own fault.)
